These four holiday cottages on a 200 acre working farm overlooking the Firth of Clyde enjoy panoramic views over the sea to the Antrim Mountains, Ailsa Craig and the Mull of Kintyre. This is a beautiful part of the coastline, just 1 mile from the ancient fishing village of Ballantrae where you may see lobster, crab and salmon being landed from local boats. Girvan, a popular seaside town is 15 mins. drive. The farm includes 1.5 miles of beach, perfect for swimming and beach-combing, accessed by a short footpath from the main road below the cottages. Lacks some essentials like dishwasher, dvd player, uprated freeview tv or sat box, N Ireland tv service not really local. The place was full of old nicknacks. could be called nicknack cottage.

the welcome was wonderful and the cottage provided everything we could possibly need for a weeks stay very homely and relaxing with wonderful views. the cottage is very large and provided plenty of space for our large family - we would not hesitate to rebook this cottage or recommend it to a friend.

Great shame because this could have been fine but definitely needs a makeover. Whilst it had the necessary amenities and equipment it was in many ways like something out of a 1960's movie. Our initial reaction when we arrived was that we just wanted to declutter the place. Walls were covered with second rate pictures and religious quotes, etc...fine if you like that sort of thing. After the initial shock and disappointment we decided that we just had to learn to ignore it all and make the most of it. Plumbing definitely needs some attention, like a new washbasin and sink and plug holes need some serious attention. Whilst the place was not dirty, it is very difficult to keep a place that is so cluttered as clean as is desirable. With the right attention and a little TLC it could have been good.
