Ballater is an exceptionally attractive village lying amongst magnificent mountain and forest scenery in Royal Deeside, a few miles from Balmoral Castle and less than an hour’s drive from Aberdeen. This is an ideal base for exploring the Highlands or the North East coast, following the Whisky or Castle trails or enjoying the many outdoor activities available. There is an excellent local golf course, pony trekking, unlimited walking, climbing, fishing and an abundance of wildlife. Glenshee and The Lecht ski areas are both nearby offering winter sports. There are good local shops, restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance.
