woodstock cottage in Ireland if you want to recharge your batter

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012

we have just returned from Ireland after 2 wonderful weeks. meeting up with "Jimmy" to pick up the key went well, the cottage was just as we were expecting, very homely and very central for touring. We had no garden chairs on arrival and as we had 10 days back to back sunshine, we rang Jimmy and soon had 2 comfy garden chairs. we had a couple of damp days and enjoyed a lovely peat fire, everything having been left for this. The cottage is not isolated but is really quite. We travelled nearly 2,000 miles from home to home but came back totally relaxed, would recommend, but not if you are looking for 21st century glitz

      excellent cottage traditional and cosy

Left on 05/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012

I have just returned home after spending a week. We got married on May 12th and we decided to have our honeymoon in Ireland. We rented this cottage and a hire car to explore the West of Ireland. The location was fantastic in the village of Ballindine and a ten minute drive takes you to Clairemorris which has shops, pubs and great places to eat. Jimmy came to meet us and he was fantastic he had even lit a fire for us so the house would be nice and cosy in the evening. I wouldn't say it was 'remote' as there are houses near by with friendly locals and you get in the car and be in the village within 3 minutes. However it is incredibly peaceful and tranquil with surrounding fields. We even had a pony in the paddock which made the cottage look even more idyllic. The cottage was suprisingly large for a one bedroom property. I would certainly not say it was bleak, it was a traditional irish cottage with character and warmth. We only paid £200 for the week so we cannot complain as it was well worth the money. We will definitely be staying there again.

      Different- remote but enjoyable...

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This house is basic. Lacks a feminine touch- needs a spring clean. Nice to have a fire in an otherwise bleak house.
We liked the location- away from it all..
It would have been nice to have a visit from 'Jimmy' never did meet him !

Basic, but good for the right people

Left on 08/27/2011 for a stay in May 2011

The price and description made it clear that this was a basic, no-frills stay. That was what we wanted, and that was what we got. We were after something peaceful and pretty, a base for exploring Mayo and Clare, and the rental gave us that. A mare and foal in the front meadow, a family of hares down the back, a mile or two from the nearest village. The cottage was clean and well-presented. It was missing some kitchen items, which nearly marked it down from 4 stars to 3.
