This traditional two room Irish cottage was built in the early 1800's and completely modernised in 2005. The original cottage with its 2 feet thick stone walls is now two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other fitted with 2 singles. A new addition houses a modern open plan kitchen with "American" style fridge, dishwasher, 6 burner stove/oven and breakfast bar. The adjacent living area has 2 large sofas, flat screeen TV, DVD player, stereo and Victorian fireplace. Situated on the banks of the River Liffey, between some of the greatest County Kildare horse racing studs and the Wicklow mountains is the town of Ballymore Eustace. This traditional Irish village is near Punchestown Race course and is home to the anual Festival. The nearby Blessington Lakes and Liffey offer plenty of fishing opportunities for all. There are over 15 golf courses within 15 miles including the K Club (host of the 2006 Rider Cup) and the PGA International, making this a golfers retreat. The ancient Monestary of Glendolagh is just a short drive east in the Wicklow Mountains and offers hiking, bicycling and sightseeing. All this only 35min. from Dublin!
