PembrokeshireWonderful Location

A lovely cottage on the edge of the sea. Wonderful views-even in rough seas! The shoreline was very rocky -like being on your own little island.Great for dogs, but had to keep an eye out for the resident sheep. Might not be suitable for very young children.
A good location to see everything in North Skye, and further south.Wonderfully solitary, but just off the main road around the island. Sunsets behind the house were great.Very comfortable house.Everything we needed. We would willingly stay here another time. Didn't want to leave!

GlenboigWhat a week

Weather was brilliant.
Cottage was brilliant.
Fishing was exceptional.
I am a regular visitor to the island and love this area. This is the first time staying at this cottage and loved every minute. The cottage is cosy and romantic but the sunsets and sunrises are to die for. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity, then this cottage is well recommended.

191250Sorry, cannot recommend
Left on 03/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Sorry, but I cannot recommend this property, especially if you have children.
I didn't think there would be any issues to be honest but there are. Let me list what we found as best I can:
Fire safety - the primary exit (i.e. the front door) was locked with no key available, meaning that in the event of fire the only egress from the building would be through the likely seat of any fire rather than the first available exit.
Contamination by animal faeces - it doesn't seem like an issue having sheep roaming about until you realise they use the cottage for shelter, especially the front area. Inevitably this results in a build up of large amounts of animal faeces which you have to walk through to get into the property and in turn is carried into the house on footwear by everyone who stays there. No amount of hoovering will clean this stuff off a carpet. Eventually the faeces stuck to the carpet dries, then it aerosolizes when disturbed (walked on), then you get it. Not saying those particular sheep are carrying E.Coli 0157 but farm animals are a primary vector so ask yourself if it's worth the risk, especially with children?
We got ill. Can't say it was this. All I know is we were stuck in the house for a couple of days because of the weather so didn't go anywhere and we both got ill. We left early. Still not fully recovered.
The bed - most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on in my life. -

Liverpool, EngalndCosy, clean cottage with beautiful location and views
Left on 05/15/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Easy to book, with a simple solution for a key pick-up, this cottage was easy to find and lovely and warm when we eventually arrived after a very long drive. The views stunned us immediately - on all sides of the cottage, with the best ot the front, over to the mainland. We were lucky that our week, right at the begining of May, was gloriously sunny for five of the seven days.
The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and, although the decor was rather old-fashioned, it was not shabby, and was lovely and comfortable . Everything you could want was there for you, with a wide selection of crockery and equipment in the kitchen, good absorbent bath towels - everything really. The bathroom, which has obviously been renovated since a previous review, has a shower, but no bath. The heating and double glazing kept it nicely warm, despite being so exposed.
For heavy-duty drivers like us, the location was excellent - easy to get to the nearest shop in Staffin in around ten minutes. There lots of art and craft places to visit (and buy from), museums to wander round, walks to do and plenty of good places to eat out. A good base to tour around the island - we visited every corner - and to access lots of dramatic scenery.
The very best thing about this place is its isolated location - right at the end of the road, right by the sea, out on your own, with views to die for. The next best thing is being able to smoke indoors (very hard to find these days, but it's essential for my enjoyment)
The only minor things to mention were that the washing machine wasn't working while we were there (but we didn't go away to do washing, so that didn't matter to us) and they could perhaps do with more that two mis-matched wine glasses! -

DorsetAn outstanding property in a perfect location
Left on 09/24/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We were looking for peace & tranquility and found it. The property is on the shoreline and a seal visited the small bay virtually daily. Sheep wandered through the rugged landscape, curious about the occupants of the house and a seagull watched daily hoping for food. The views including the sunsets are magnificent and the property is very comfortable - good seating and beds. Everything that you might need is provided (other than pegs?) and the local manager is lovely, offering any assistance when needed. No complaints at all.

Flitwick, BedfordshireThe best week we've had on holiday!
Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in August 2008
Five of us spent a week on the Isle of Skye and had the best week ever! The weather was very kind to us (when the rest of Britain was drowning!) and the cottage very comfortable. Decor is outdated but lovely still. Rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. We fished off the rocks and Barbequed the fish on the rocks. We saw a sea otter on most days. If you are looking for a holiday to relax, read a few good books and enjoy the views of the ocean then this is it. Plenty to do on the days you don't feel like reading.
We will be returning next year.
