In a very peaceful location overlooking the magnificent Braes O’Balquhidder in Scotland’s first National Park, these six excellent cottages are situated in the grounds of the Kingshouse Hotel, 150 metres from the main road. This is the heart of Rob Roy country, at the foot of the Strathyre Forest. The hotel is family run and all facilities are available to cottage guests including two bars serving bar meals. Fishing permits for numerous lochs and rivers can be arranged at the hotel, as can other sporting activities, whilst the mountains in the area provide ample scope for hillwalking and climbing. We rented 4 of these cottages and each one was very spacious and well equipped. Our only dissapointment was the travel cot that was provided had stains all over it and my granddaughter had to sleep with her mum in the double bed, apart from that would recommend these cottages, as the location for touring around the highlands was perfect. Such beautiful views from the cottages also.

We (2 adults, a teenage boy and a border collie) stayed in this clean and spacious cottage for Bank Holiday weekend and it was easy to get to a variety of interesting places fairly close by. It was handy having the hotel nearby for meals at night and a bar.
We visited Callander, Loch Earn, the Rob Roy 'experience' and also walked in the hills. There are a number of Munros within easy reach.
