Additional Location Information
The apartment is located on Soi Sribumpen just off Sathorn Soi 1. The nearest underground stations are at Lumpini and Klong Toey, both of which are a 10 minute walk from the apartment building. There are many restaurants both Thai and western in the immediate vicinity as well as a very good international standard supermarket. This area is the original "BackPack" area of Bangkok before the "BackPackers" moved to the Khao San Rd. Tony and Pauline Wheeler started to write their first "Lonely Planet Guide" to SE Asia in the Malaysia Hotel just along the road in the mid 70's. There is a lovely laid back ambience to this community and the whole area is very safe and hassle free.

NZAwesome Stay!
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Great location and great service. Henry was very welcoming, informative, and made every effort to ensure my stay was comfortable. Travelling as a lone female, I'm always after trustworth and reliable people and accommodation - this definitely stepped up to the mark.
The apartment was clean and well stocked for longer stays. You can walk to Lumpini MRT or choose a motorbike taxi. There are food places very close, the one across the road is awesome, locals recommend and eat at this place also.
Very enjoyable and highly recommended. Will definitely be back! -

Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Dr. Worawadee's husband, Henry, greeted us when we arrived, gave us a mini-tour of the neighborhood and the apartment building and promptly upgraded us to a larger apartment in the same building. We were so pleased! The apartment was immaculately clean. Attention to detail was evident to us from the get-go and we so appreciated the helpful information they had printed and ready for us as well as the very useful cards on hand in Thai with directions for taxi drivers. On it was Dr. Worawadee's phone number just in case, and it turned out to be quite a lifesaver. (Thank you for helping us with a couple drivers!) The place was cozy and welcoming. Two bedrooms came in handy since my husband and I both became sick simultaneously and sleeping in separate beds just seemed to make sense. Great view of the financial district from the windows and really close to great restaurants and street food. I can only imagine the studio apartment to be just as comfortable and accommodating. Thank you, Henry and Dr. Worawadee, for the upgrade and for your welcoming and friendly manner that made this place a home away from home in the busyness of Bangkok! We'll definitely look you up when we come to Bangkok again.

Washington, D.C.Great apartment-Great Location
Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We spent 4 days in this apartment was it was as advertised. It's in a great location in Bangkok, with access to the MRT (subway) only about a 10 min walk door to door. The best part is that it's in a wonderful neighborhood that is calm and peaceful, and without all the clamor and rancor of other parts of the city like anywhere on Suhkumvit. There's a lovely Thai Restaurant virtually across the street, that's very clean and full of native Thai. Moreover, you can eat like royalty there and spend 500 baht.
The best part of the stay was the access to the swimming pool, which can be mandatory after sightseeing in the heat and humidity of Bangkok. Over all the apartment was lovely, clean, safe and secure, and Henry was very accommodating.
Also, Henry provides you with a card with directions in Thai to give to the cab drivers, as well as his phone number for emergencies. His wife is Thai, and will speak (via phone) in case of an emergency if you really need someone to speak Thai. This was extremely helpful. -

a very comfortable place to stay away from home. truly remarkable people, henry and his wife. extremely accommodating with your needs and directing you to where and what you need to find. a great place for vacation if you are looking to unwind and kick your feet up instead of living out of a suitcase. the only thing gripe i have is that it isn't close enough to a mrt/bts for my taste. however, hailing a cab is very accessible and shouldn't take more than 2 minutes.
wonderful place. -

Left on 10/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Henry and his partner Ning arranged for us to be collected from the airport and after taking over an hour to get through customs (and a 12.5 hr flight from aus), it was a welcoming sight to be greeted by our friendly driver. Henry very kindly upgraded my fiance and I from the studio to his 2-bed apartment in the same location and we were thrilled. The apartment was great, really well equipped for our western needs with all mod cons, comfortable and spacious for two people. Knowing little about Bangkok we were happy with the apartment's location being situated in a groovy 'village' feeling area of Bangkok. Both Ning and Henry went out of their way to make our trip to Bangkok a fun and interesting one, whether that be advice on transportation, where to eat or fun activities. Henry is a fantastic host; I think he has a great balance allowing guests privacy yet always on hand at the end of an email if you need anything. We would definitely recommend staying in one of Henry's residences'. Thanks, Laura & Denzil

BrusselsPleasant location in Bangkok in a nice appartment
Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
If you want to experience Bangkok differently from usual hotel location, I suggest you this appartment which will allow you to have another point of view of the city but with all the needed cosy & comfortable side that this appartment can provide you. Futhermore, Henry can give you some tips to eat & shopping around appartment area. And last but not least, it is really less expensive than going to the hotel when you are 2 adults and 2 kids...briefly this appartment is a good deal (good quality for a fair price).

Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
A great base to explore the city and in a "real" neighbourhood. A little hard to find initially, so if making your own way from the airport or elsewhere, recommend getting detailed instructions in Thai, with reference to well known landmarks. But overall a very enjoyable stay, 15 minutes walk from the subway and surrounded by local restaurants and convennience stores.

PerthGood apartment
Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I stayed at this apartment for 10 days with two other friends. Overall we thought the experience we quite good and would recommend it to others.
Henry organized a taxi service to pick us up from the airport and met us at the apartment. From here he showed us some good eating places, how to get around and the apartment building itself. The apartment itself was quite good having two nice bedrooms and a couch.
What we liked were the 24 hour security and card system which made the stay very safe and secure. The pool was also very nice and the apartment also had fast Wi-Fi and a TV with satellite.
What was annoying and was maybe out of Henry's control was the toilet system which required that you first flush the waste and then wipe and flush again to avoid blockages. Again this may be out of Henry's control. Another difficulty was the location of the apartment complex, even with Henry's card which has directions it was easy for taxi drivers to get lost. What you need to do is get a card from the opposite Tivoli hotel and if taxi drivers still do not know where it is give Tivoli hotel a call to get them to give directions to the hotel which is across the road from the apartment complex.
Other than that it was quite a good experience, we did not spend much time in the apartment but when we did it was enjoyable.

Thanks for your generally positive review William. As Bangkok is in the Tropics it is essential that all food is put away in the refrigerator quickly, as otherwise it does encourage ants to congregate! Hope to see you on your next visit.

This apartment is very well presented. The owner who is a really nice chap met us and explained the apartment and surrounding area. The apartment was a bit small for our needs but it would be ideal. for 2 singles that were a bit younger than we were.
There are some really good cheap local restaurants in the immediate area.
I recommend this apartment to anyone. -

We had a great stay at the apartment. Much friendlier than a hotel room and the restaurant across the road Henry recommended was great. Wifi was very fast and everything needed was there. Only downside is getting taxis to find the place when you want to come home. We found giving them the card from the Tivoli hotel across the road worked better - maybe their directions were a bit clearer. Thanks Henry for looking after us when Katie got rejected by a taxi with a pile of groceries. Your help was greatly appreciated.

We stayed in half a dozen hotels in Bangkok. For a change , We tried Flipkey. And found the wonderful apartment. Owner of the home , Henry, communicated very well during the booking process. he was there when we reached the home. he shown us everything in the home. He explained the neighborhood and recommended few good restaurants near the home.
The home is decorated nicely and had good collection of books. The kitchen also had all required items. We cooked few meals. Now I found a good home and good host. I will not look any other place in BKK to stay. -

We had a fabulous stay in this apartment. The location was ideal for us - just a short cab drive to the Sukhothai 5 star Hotel where the wedding was which we were attending.
The apartment was immaculately clean and of good quality with modern furniture. There were 2 of us staying there, so we each had our own room with large comfortable, clean beds. Most of the time we were out and about with friends, but made use of the small but adequate sized , well equipped kitchen for breakfast. The washing machine is lovely and efficient - clothes dry easily in a few hours or overnight on the balcony which was kitted out with washing lines, pegs & laundry stand. The fact that there were 2 toilets was a nice luxury. The large screen tv was good and it had some channels in English. The provision of internet connection and desk was very useful. There was an efficient air con system.
The apartment had 24 hour security- it didn't seem necessary but was reassuring that there was someone there if you needed them. It was in a block where there is a small cafe downstairs ( Eddies recommended by Henry!) omelette with bacon and French toast is great ! and a massage place called La Nature which was really good . We ate at the Italian restaurant (Lido) nearby also recommended by Henry, they serve the most amazing pasta dishes. Henry was an excellent host- meeting us at reception, he organised our transport to and from the airport, offered advice on where to eat, shop etc.
We were very pleased to have stayed in this modern, well equipped and clean apartment and at such a reasonable price.

VancouverComfortable, well appointed home away from home!
Left on 03/06/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We were met by Henry in front of the building with a firm handshake and friendly smile. The directions he emailed to us, that we used from Lumpini Subway Station, were clear easy to follow. We were impressed with the apartment, wishing that it was ours in Vancouver. Clean, current, comfortable furniture. In the master suite is a king bed and it was the most comfortable bed we slept in of all our two months in Thailand.
The apartment is nicely set up with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it was such a treat for us. We didn't have to trip over each other or our belongings. The laundry was an absolute bonus and with the Bangkok heat it was dry within an hour, out on the balcony rack.
We made breakfast for ourselves and didn't want for anything in the way of utensils or crockery. They thought of everything! Plenty of soaps/towels/linens etc.
We loved that we were in the city and the neighborhood was quiet and same for our neighbors in the building. Felt very safe and secure both in the building and walking around the 'hood. Convenient to get a taxi or walk to the Lumpini Subway. The building's gym is well appointed and the pool has a couple lounge chairs so that we were able to suntan at midday. The pool was cool and refreshing. The grounds staff and security were very friendly and one night agent was very outgoing and introduced us to an older neighborhood dog that sits with her overnight.
I'd happily recommend this apartment to anyone. It was comfortable, clean, and affordable with great amenities. And Henry is very friendly and easy to deal with. Ask him about the local restaurants, they were all great recommendations. Thank you Henry! We enjoyed ourselves very much. -

Nice apartment, but somewhat tight space. A practical location. Henry is a great host, and helped us feel at home and comfortable.

We did explain to Markus during the booking process that our apartment was suitable only for a maximum of 4 persons. He insisted that their family of 5 persons would not mind squeezing in despite us recommending that one of our other larger apartments would be more suitable for his family size. We think it a bit unfair to now say it is a tight space and give the impression that the apartment is small. It is 70sqm and perfectly suitable for a maximum of 4 persons.

Left on 12/19/2011 for a stay in December 2011
One of the best things of this apartment is its owner (please don't be discouraged - you will find other features of this apartment excellent as well). We were pleasantly suprised by how helpful and welcoming Henry was. He offered pick up service, so we were met by his driver in the airport. We came in quite late but this was not a problem and Henry met us at this apartment (we were taken there by his driver).
Apartment was very clean and everything was provided. Air conditioning unit in every room.
Excelent location - walking distance to Bangkok MTR (Metro line) Lumphini station, breakfast location downstairs in the same building (of course, more places to eat in the street).
It was an excellent "hub" for us in Thailand - stayed there for a few days just after we came until we continued our jorney to other parts of Thailand, and then again before our flight back home.
When we will come to Thailand next time I will not even consider staying elsewhere than at one of Henry's apartments.
Oh, and one more thing - it is great to have a person who's mother tongue is English - no hassle trying to get directions or advice while trying to understand the language, no matter how friendly Thais would be. -

Located 1 min ride from the subway (Lumpini station) with a taxi, motorbike or bicycle, the 9-story residence is off the main road and the noise, but at the same time very close to central business Bangkok.
The top class residence has the same quality of service than a luxury hotel. It's very well protected : guards day and night, videosurveillance Cctv, special pass to enter the residence. It has a very nice and clean private swimming pool as well as a sports and fitness room fully equipped with the latest and sophisticated equipement.
The apartment itself is very quiet, clean and very nicely decorated. The furniture is new and of best quality, not mentioning the big screen TV and the fast speed Internet connection. Henri, the owner, is such a nice man, always ready to help you in case of need.
The area is like a small village, very warm and friendly, with the advantage of very good and cheap services and retaurants nearby. No wonder that you can see quite a few expatriates around. -

"We chose to stay @ Henry Steven's accommodation in Bangkok on our first trip to Thailand as the reviews he had previously received were very good, and we were not disappointed in any way. Henry was prompt with his replies to our questions before we booked and this continued during our stay in Bangkok.
Our accommodation was everything promised, eg great location, near shops and safe.
Henry was prompt with our check in which we appreciated after our 13 hours in transit and the little touches like having our apartment address on business size paper written in Thai for us to show taxi drivers to bring us home was so very clever and helpful.
When we visit Bangkok next we will certainly stay with Henry again if possible, and strongly recommend his services to others".

Fantastic place for a holiday or business trip. Very near the business district and Silom area. Lumpini Park only a 20 minute walk or 10 mins by motorbike. Great for evening walks and feeling part of the local community. Apartment furnished to a high standard which creates a very homely feel. It also benefit from an amazing view of Bangkok's skyline at night. If you want something special that breaks free from the normal hotel or guesthouse stay, why not try this place? You won't regret it!
Response from Henry Steven - 03/17/2011

Thanks for your positive feedback Ettiene. Most of our guests make similar comments about the locality. It has a good community feel to it, is very safe, feels a little off the "beaten track" but is right in the centre of things. It is a good combination. Lumpini Park, which is the main "green area" in central Bangkok is just a short walk away through the original backpack area of Bangkok. It is a lovely cool place in the early morning to watch, or join in with, the Chinese origin Thais practice their "Tai Chai" movement meditation.

Although my wife and I originally booked for a studio, Henry upgraded us to this 2 bedroom at no extra cost which we appreciated very much and we stayed here for two weeks. The 2 bedroom apartment is tastefully furnished and clean with modern appliances. Having a washing machine in the apartment allowed us to do our laundry at our convenience. We still can't get over how very quickly the washing dried in Bangkok. There was internet connection included in the cost of the apartment rental which was an important criteria to us as our business relies heavily on good internet connectivity. The connection was fast and efficient. Outside this apartment, there are also many internet cafes, eateries, restaurant, a really good Thai massage and hair salon downstairs. In the apartment, there were lots of bath towels and change of bed linen provided. My wife and I ate at the Thai restaurant across the road from the apartment Henry recommended on several occasions and found the food and service of high quality. Swee particularly liked the convenience of the massage and hairdressing salon which she visited every other day during our stay. The apartment is a little too far a walk to the MRT station, however, we never had to wait for more than 2 minutes for a taxi. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and have already recommended friends. Henry's website is informative, he answered our emails promptly and the online payment was easy. Henry also kindly arranged for a driver to take us to the airport as our two big suitcases would not have fitted into the boot of a metered taxi. We will return and stay at this apartment again. Dear Henry: Just a quick note of thanks regarding our stay at your condominums in Bangkok available through vrconnection. From the very start of our communications, your rapid and consistent email updates were indications to me we had made the correct choice for our stay. This was a great and money-saving alternative to hotels in the area. More importantly, we felt like we "lived" in Bangkok. We were not insulated from the great activity of the communities we were in. It was so nice to be able to step out of the complex and into the city, as opposed to wading through large lobbies with a multitude of staff. I think it is hard to really be comfortable in a hotel. With your condominums, however, we were able to relax and enjoy. Both were very secure, extremely well equipped and furnished. Further, while we consider ourselves experienced travelers, it was a comfort to know that should we need it we had a local contact in a city where we neither read nor speak the language. Thanks for looking after us so well. Yours will be our first choice accomodations on our return trips to that great City. - Steven S., , 05/25/2009

Thanks Steven. I was so pleased that you managed to get the best out of this fascinating city. You are right that it can be a daunting place with the completely different language and alphabet; but with a sense of curiosity and a nice smile challenges become opportunities!
