Nestled in the woods in a quiet neighborhood, this charming, contemporary, architect-designed house butts right up to Acadia National Park. Built and owned by a graphic designer, the house is uniquely and artfully decorated. It is comfortable, homey and contains everything necessary to make your stay a very pleasant one. Artist’s Haven is about half way down a little travelled road that ends with a turn around at a heath of pine, spruce, and fir trees. As you walk up the hill down the road you can see the summit of Cadillac Mountain and many birds and wildlife along the way. There are old over-grown logging roads you can meander down and pick blueberries in late July through August. Pine Heath Road is in Town Hill, a village of Bar Harbor. Town Hill has an old-fashion country store featuring all natural products, a bistro specializing in unique gourmet food, a wine and cheese shop, an artists gallery, bank, firehouse, baseball field and children’s playground, a playhouse theater, local brewery/barbecue eatery, and an organic vegetable farm with stand.
The town of Bar Harbor is only 20 minutes away from Artist’s Haven, so is the official entrance to Acadia National Park where you can gather all the information you need about what is scheduled for the particular time of your vacation stay.
Parking at Artist’s Haven and in the village of Town Hill is never a problem. At the house there is room for 3 vehicles in the driveway. The island offers a free public bus service that can accommodate bikes too. The local stop for the Island Explorer is just down the road from the house.

The minimum stay at Artist’s Haven is a week from Saturday to Saturday. If the guests need to extend their visit by adding some more days, then the rate of $200. per day applies.
Artist’s Haven Vacation Rental Season Rates:
The rental weeks on Mount Desert Island are generally scheduled from Saturday to Saturday. The minimum stay at Artist’s Haven is one week. The season is from May through October. Weeks in May run $1,100/week. Weeks in June are $1,300/week. The premium weeks during the months of July and August run $1,500/week. September weeks are $1,400/week and October weeks run $1,200/week. Stays for less than a week are permitted, but the fee remains the same as a week’s stay. If an extension is needed, then there is a charge of $200 per each additional night no matter what time of the season it happens. Two week stays are popular and not eligible for a discount. A discount for longer than two weeks can be negotiated. Check-in time is 4pm and check-out time is 10am. The cottage is limited to 5 persons. Dogs are allowed to vacation too at Artist’s Haven. However, they must meet my good dog approval. A pet fee of $75 per stay is added to the rental costs.

We stayed at artist's Haven for a week and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Bar Harbor area. The house was beautiful, fully furnished with everything we needed. Location was excellent, 10-15 minutes from the acadia National Park Visitor's Center and 15-20 from the downtown area. House is decorated beautifully by Dayelle and it proved to be the perfect place to return to after each day's activities. A great week!

Artist's Haven was a very nicely appointed comfortable home. It had everything we needed, and lots of things to do nearby. Our hostess was very engaging, and had a very comprehensive knowledge of the area. She was always able to point us in the right direction when asked. We had a very enjoyable week.

This is a beautiful, comfortable home in harmony with its wooded surroundings. Private and secluded, yet centrally located so that all the attractions of the island are within easy drive. We truly enjoyed our stay at the artist's haven.
