Description from the owner
A great place to stay while seeing Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park!
Come to Bar Harbor, the first place to see the Sun in the United States. Mount Desert Island's (MDI) unique topography provides a mixture of natural woodlands, waterways and mountains. Experience activities ranging from golf, fishing, birding, biking, boating to mountain climbing all without leaving MDI. Take a mail boat to the Cranberry Islands. Climb the "Bubbles" and then reward yourself with high tea at Jordon Pond House where giant popovers and strawberry jam are made using the same recipe originally used in the late 1800's.

Woodland, METhe ideal spot for a quiet rest.
Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Comfortable, peaceful, for 6 adults. The woodland setting, the local environment and ease of access to the entire island was very restful and peaceful. The "living was easy". I will return to this spot without trying to find a "better" place on the coast of Maine. Alice's rental procedures are flawless--fast easy. Everything she says about this great spot is true.

York, PAGreat cabin in the Maine woods
Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This was our first visit and the family had a wonderful time. It was exactly as advertised. The location was very private and quiet, but within 10-15 minute drive of acadia National Park entrance and Bar Harbor. Very pretty setting. Another cabin way off in the distance but never saw or heard anyone.
The cabin was clean, a kitchen with everything you need. The family area had loads of books, games and activities. WiFi worked well, Netflix, cable TV, etc.
We had stayed once before in a Maine cabin further inland and were eaten alive by mosquitos. This location was not too bad, perhaps since closer to the coast (but still, don't forget the spray).
No air conditioning...not really necessary. Everywhere else in the us it was 100 deg that week, but temperatures didn't get out of the 70's at the cabin and is well shaded.
Minor point, but I had hoped on better fishing at the pond, but not much biting all week.
Reservation, deposit, key exchange all went smoothly.
A real nice time.

Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaWould definitely come back
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed at the cabin for a week in June. It is a beautiful cabin that is secluded yet within driving range of everything on the island. Our kids loved the pond out back, all the stuffed moose inside, the games, books and the very large jacuzzi tub! Everything was as described. We had many wonderful experiences during this second trip to MDI and would definitely stay at the cabin again as well as recommend it to friends.

Left on 01/02/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We rented this cabin over the Christmas holidays. It was exactly what we wanted - a comfortable and cozy cabin in the woods. It was about a 10+ min. drive to Bar Harbor, but was centrally located to all parts of MDI. The cabin was fully stocked with books, games, puzzles, and lots of Mdi-area information. The kitchen had most everything one could need as well, including spices!

This was the perfect place. Near everything, but private. Clean with modern appliances, but had that relxaed cabin feel. Maine is so much more beautiful than I had imagined. My kids loved the rocky hiking trails better than any regular dirt path they ever encountered. The loved walking to on the sand bar at Bar Harbor to the island and drinking blueberry soda. We enjoed blueberry picking and bike riding. The boat excursion Diver Ed was woth every penny. The cabin was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the evening or have breakfast on the deck.

Our first vacation to Bar Harbor and acadia National Park was a huge success due to the great home we rented. It was a short drive to everything we wanted to see and do. The house was very well equipped, extremely comfortable and very clean.

Harper's acadia Lodge is a beautiful upscale log cabin which is beautifully furnished and leaves nothing to want for. We enjoyed the deck's view every morning with our coffee or tea in hand. The location of the lodge is the best of both worlds--it puts you in close proximity to Bar Harbor, restaurants, and tourist spots and yet you get to return to the serenity and comfort of Harper's Lodge. We loved everything about the home (the beds' mattresses are excellent & offer a wonderful night's sleep) and its surroundings, and would return to Harper's Lodge in a heartbeat. We highly recommend Harper's acadia Lodge to family and friends.

This rental was no "cabin". It is huge with every amenity a family might wish to have, including internet, satellite TV, and a well outfitted kitchen. It is decorated beautifully and I think anyone would enjoy it!
More importantly, it is in the woods with a pond in the yard. The area is quiet and relaxing, yet is very close to Bar Harbor and acadia National Park. I would stay there again in a minute! -

Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We rented Harper's Lodge near the acadia National park for a week in July 2011. The house was perfect for us (2 adults, and 3 teenagers- 2 girls and 1 boy)and everyone had their own space. Information and the keys were sent well in advance of our arrival and gave us some tips on the area which were very helpful. The house was just far enough away from the traffic of Bar Harbor, however close enough to the Park and other parts of the island. After a long day of hiking, biking and touring it was nice to come home to a calm setting. The house was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils to dine in if you wanted to. We spent time on the deck relaxing, rented a few movies from the Redbox in town and went swimming at the recommended lake nearby. The pictures that were posted were very accurate in the description of the house. It was a perfect getaway and we would love to return.

Left on 10/04/2009 for a stay in September 2009
This is the first time we had rented a home just by looking at pictures online. The house looked great, and then when we got there it TOTALLY exceeded our expectations!! My husband an I both said WOW as soon as we pulled up to the beautiful and peaceful home. The house has absolutely everything you would need and is relaxing and homey as soon as you walk in the door. We had decided in only a couple of minutes that we wanted to come back next September, and we have already booked it. The entire week was wonderful, the home is a vacation in itself. Our 2 year old daughter loved all the books and toys that the owners provide for you. The location of the house is perfect, 6 miles from Bar Harbor, right on Mt. Desert Island, and minutes to everything but it still felt private(which it is, with only a couple other houses on the street. It was nice to explore Acadia National Park and then come back to your own private pond and relax with a drink to end our day. I would recommend this home to all of my family and friends, and we cannot wait for our vacation next year at Harpers Acadia Lodge.
