Our charming Log Home sits along the shore of Frenchman's Bay and comfortably sleeps up to eight people. The floor plan of the house takes full advantage of the beautiful ocean view. Large sliding glass doors facing the water open onto a deck that runs the entire front of the house. Wonderful views of the water during the day and

The home is located in a rural area of Bar Harbor. It is "away from it all" yet only five miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park. It is also only eight miles to the town of Bar Harbor and an easy twenty minute drive to the "quietside" of the island with Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor. There is plenty of parking and the home is just 75 feet from the water including fabulous views, particularly at sunset.

Our only complaint was that the advertised internet service worked about 25% of the time. The router was in a different house and we were told the best service would be on our house's porch, which was on the side opposite of the other house, hence we never received service on the porch - go figure.

My family rented this home in August 2003 and again in June 2009. What a great time ! The property is very private and peaceful, full of wildlife and the water views are outstanding !! It's a short drive to Acadia National Park, which is breathtaking. The town of Bar Harbor is also very close and offers great restaurants and fun shopping. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you would need. There is plenty to do in the area and this is a relaxing hideaway just a short drive away....we will definitely return.

We have stayed in the Log Home and the Chalet for the past four years. We have already reserved the Log Home again for 2010. We love the Log Home because of it's location, view and the seclusion. We are very secluded there and yet only about seven miles from downtown Bar Harbor. Each year as a part of our visit we take a private two hour carriage ride all through the carriage trails on Mt. Desert Island. It is a spectacular private, jsut for two ride that takes you back to what it must have been like a hundred years ago. We love the food, the town and the people that always make our visit special.
If I was to make any suggestions I guess I would say that maybe some upgrades to the furniture in the Log Home. Maybe some recliners and just general upgrades. The microwave is old and does not funtion well. We would love to have hi-speed internet service and maybe a larger flat screen TV.
Bottom line is we love Maine and Brenda, your Log Home is something we anticipate all year. Thanks for the communication that we have enjoyed and hope to return for many years to come.

We have stayed in several homes of Brenda Harp's. We loved them all, although the two on this property are our favorites and very close to our hearts. It's simply wonderful there. Amazingly Beautiful and you have everything at your fingertips. Houses are fully furnished with everything one might need. Brenda is a gracious host. Maine is one of God's most precious places. You should go and experience it for yourself....
