This large upscale carriage/guest house is located at the rear of the beautifully landscaped grounds on one of the original Bar Harbor Shorepath Estates, with no ocean view, however six Adirondack chairs, ottomans and tables right at the ocean's edge on the Bar Harbor Shore Path are dedicated solely for your use.

THIS IS YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME, a short walk from the hustle and bustle that's Bar Harbor during the summer season. While others circle the t...own looking for that elusive parking spot, you have easy access to everything Bar Harbor has to offer, including the Village Green where every night is a summer festival, and the concerts are free.

ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO WATER/OCEAN VIEW from the Guesthouse, as you can see in the photos there are six Adirondack chairs, ottomans and tables right at the ocean's edge solely for your use. There is a path along the north side of the estate to get to your Shorepath seating, as to not interfere with the privacy of those renting the main house, which is a couple hundred feet away from the carriage/guesthouse. There is very good separation for privacy on the Shorepath seating, as well.

BEAUTIFULLY FURNISHED, AND FULLY EQUIPPED, the guest house has three king-sized beds, along with four baths, a beautiful deck, air conditioning, and best of all, it is very private, yet a very short walk to town. This house is over 2200 sq. ft., has a chef's kitchen, and sleeps six easily with three king-sized beds. There are four full baths. Please see below my link to the main house on this estate!

WALK TO BAR HARBOR CAFES, MOVIES, COFFEE HOUSES, AND SHOPPING either via a beautiful, and quiet neighborhood side street, or via the famous Bar Harbor Shorepath. Bar Harbor offers numerous unique bars, many great coffee houses, ice cream shops, and restaurants (most very casual), night clubs, hysterical improv theater, two movie houses, new YMCA with a great gym, nearby athletic facilities, a nationally renowned public golf course (Kebo and two others on the island), immediate proximity to Acadia National Park's salt and fresh water beaches, convenient connections to airports in Bangor and Trenton, deep sea fishing, sailing, antiquing, and, of course the nearby Ellsworth L.L. Bean outlet.

FREE ISLAND BUS! GREAT SCENIC CRUISES: A short walk to the free island bus, or go for a scenic cruise around the island from the pier, take the famous Bar Harbor Whale Watch boat, or walk over to a sandwich shop, and order an incredible picnic lunch to go, swim or kayak in pristine lakes, brave the ocean, hike the trails, or bike the carriage roads in nearby Acadia National Park, with bike and Kayak rentals nearby. THE SHOREPATH ESTATE: Built and named 'Devilstone' in 1885, this is one of the original estates on the famous Shorepath in Bar Harbor. Since the late 1800s, Bar Harbor has been the playground of the rich and famous, however it was, and still is a quaint, quiet and beautiful resort village on Mt. Desert Island. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer just about any form of recreation you could desire. The famous Kebo Golf Course is only five minutes from your home, and three other golf courses are close by, as well. Kebo is the eighth oldest golf course in the United States. The entrance to Acadia National Park is but a five minute drive. Hiking in Acadia is an unforgettable experience for the novice, or the truly experienced. Most all forms of rental equipment are available, however biking and kayaking seem to be the most popular.

ONE FAMILY WROTE: THANK YOU, JOHN. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Maine, and the guesthouse worked out perfectly for us. Our party of 5 included three adult children, and the house offered plenty of room for us to be together, or when we wanted our own space.

The location of the house is terrific. We were only blocks from everything in town, so for the most part the cars stayed in the driveway. We made good use of the free island shuttle buses!

CLEANING FEES! THERE ARE NO UP FRONT, OR SET CLEANING FEES! THE FEE, IF ANY, IS UP TO YOU.

The cleaning/damage deposit is $1,500.00, and completely, and quickly refundable if the Carriage/Guesthouse is left in the same condition as you found it upon arrival.

Unlike many other weekly rentals, we don't charge any up front, or set cleaning fees. The fee, IF ANY, depends on how much cleaning we have to do once you leave.

After you leave, we launder all sheets, and towels, make the beds, clean the bathrooms, and the rest is up to you for 100% refund. Our cleaning fee policy is ideal for those who leave the Guesthouse as they found it.

Fortunately over 95% of our return guests leave the Guesthouse clean and tidy, which is why we stopped charging a fixed cleaning fee.
