Very Clean and Spacious apartment Right in the Middle of the act

The six of us really enjoyed our eight nights in this apartment. We were three older couples -two from New Zealand and one from England. Initially some of us were concerned about being so close to the heart of activity but despite being there during a festival we enjoyed it. We were meters from Pl Reial which never seemed to sleep! However as the apartment had aircon we could close the windows and be undisturbed. It would not be the right place to stay if you wanted absolute peace and quiet but if you want to join in and experience the fun Barcelona is famed for it is great. We all found the apartment very clean and spacious with adequate kitchen facilities and nice lounge. The two bathrooms were very good, modern and clean. As we were there longer than seven nights we had a complimentary clean half way through. We were close enough to walk to the beach, La Rambla, the Market (fantastic), The Old Walled City and a choice of restaurants and bars. I lost a diamond and pearl pendant in the apartment and when I contacted Habitat apartments asking them to let me know if it was found they went to the apartment, found it and posted it back to me in New Zealand, keeping me informed all the time. Exceptional service. Thank you to the Habitat Team. Barcelona is a fantastic city - vibrant, friendly and so proud (justifiably) of the Gaudi architecture. I really would love to visit it again - there is still so much to see and experience
Good location, nice apartment, a lot of noise

Nice big apartment which is very well located. Because of the location, there is a lot of noise. It has been also written about noise in other reviews, but we didn't think it can be so bad. We had a small problem with aircondition, it was not working properly, but Habitat apartment team was very nice and helpful.
Great apartment, well located

Nice appartment, well located. Some noise from the street when you are in the living room but no problem to sleep. Services provided by habitatapartment were good.
Very central and nice

If you want to be in the middle of the action on Bari Gotic this is a good choice. However, verify when you arrive that the WiFi works. We were unable to get connection in the apartment and instead were able to get a sporadic connection with a nearby unsecured Netgear network. I contacted the management about this issue but didn't get a response. The most important thing when you arrive is to make sure everything is working and that you understand how the satellite connection works that there is a coffee pot (ours was missing and it took a full day to get a replacement)etc.

The apartment was in a great location. It was very convenient to lots of sights, restaurants, nightlife and the beach. We stayed for 6 nights and had a great time! Thank you!

We stayed in art1, with our two kids (aged 5 & 1and half) in mid February. In overall, it is agreat appartment, in a location that rocks - you have everything you need nearby. The property is very comfortable and clean even though in my opinion it needs a bit of refreshing, a painting of the walls lets say. Another issue is that it was a bit dark for my taste but that was not really a problem. And yes, during the nights, the area becomes so vivid that could be difficult for one to sleep. That happened to us the first night, the rest of our stay, we were so tired that we droped dead to beds till next morning. I loved my stay there and would hapilly stay there again.
Great apartment , very noisy

The apertments is great for a few friends
With big bedrooms and central space
It's clean the check In and out was like 5 star hotel
The wireless is slower than old modems and it located in the central of the gothic barri so it's great location to go out
But the apertments is very noisy 24 hours a day
The key ingredient of the perfect city break!

Really superb apartment + great location + smashing service = fabulous holiday!
Art #1 apartment is just lovely (and we've also stayed in art #2 and #3 - also very nice but #1 is best!) and the very convenient location so close to Placa Reial and Las Ramblas means you are in the thick of everything as soon as you want to be.
Top food/eating tips - we found a great little bakery 100 yds away - ideal for nice breakfast stuff - turn left down Escudellers Street and the bakery is on the left hand side just before the swirly metal sculpture thing you can see at the end of the road when you look left out of the living room balcony. Pick up some very nice (and cheap) coffee from Nostrum (facing the front door) on your way back and breakfast is served!
Los Caracoles smells divine as they roast chickens over a wood fire right outside the window (mmm mmm) - an amazing and bizarre restaurant makes for a fun and interesting experience with lovely food but quite expensive. Much more affordable and equally nice was Rossini's restaurant just on the left as you enter the Placa Reial under the arch - we asked to go downstairs - a great vaulted ceiling wine cellar setting, delicious food and good service. A short distance up the Ramblas is a cafe bar - Cafe de l'Opera - delightful setting and great service but sit inside - any of the cafe seats in the central Ramblas open air area charge a fortune for drinks (€9 for a pint of beer).
We had a fabulous 4 day city break and I can't wait to go back - and yes, I'll book art #1 again!

the apartment was clean, spacious and very comfortable.
we were met on time by the representative, who gave us all the info we needed about the apartment, and leaving times and arrangements.
the location was very central, 1 min walk to las Ramblas, 10mins to the old port. many bars jst outside the door so perfect!
The apartment building, and the apartment itself were great.
as the location is so central it is very niosey in the early hours so if you need lots of sleep at night or have children this is probably not the best location.
Lovely apartment, but too much street noise, until the early hou
Left on 01/27/2012 for a stay in December 2011 | Julie Doyle
The only complaint we have is the noise from the street was very intrusive. People were yelling, at each other until 5am some nights. We all had disrupted sleep, for long periods each night. Luckily we were only staying 3 nights. The apartment however was wonderful, everything we needed was included. The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished.

We stayed 24 - 28th November with 2 other couples. We were impressed by the introduction & apartment and the equipment within. Although, wine & champagne glasses for 6 people would be nice, we ended up buying some wine glasses. The oven instructions were not found but we muddled through. The major surprise was the Pizza place below which we think should be pointed out to your guests as it is open all night and can be very noisy indeed. We knew that it was located in a busy area but not that most of the noise would come from below. The restuarant opposite was brilliant. My husband was unfortunately mugged of quite a bit of cash on Saturday night, which was such a shame as the trip was to celebrate his "all clear from beating cancer", it left him feeling rather low. Our guests however loved their stay and will be going back I'm sure. Thank you. Angie

Art 1 is in a super location and easily accessible to the Ramblas, Plaza Cataluna and walkable to great tapa bars. Across the street is one of our favorite restaurants, Las Caracoles. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. A/C was a nice accommodation. Baths are sized generously. Apartment itself was quiet. This is the second time we have used Habitat apartments for rentals in Barcelona. No question that we would use them again for future rentals. Their service is great during booking and beyond.

This apartment was great! Nice and spacious with very comfortable beds and couches. Location was perfect, in the old town less than 50m off Las ramblas(the main street). Easy walk to the beach and metro station. Added bonus was the amazing pizza shop downstairs. Kithen was well equiped, so that you could prepare your own meals at the apartment if you wanted to.
Overall amazing apartment, would not hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends.

Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in June 2011 | Fischer
The appartment was very nice and clean. The location is perfect. During the nights it was unfortunately very loud (from the streets and the other people living in the house). The staircase was very dirty and smelly - there was no cleaning the whole week.

Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in May 2011 | Larsen and Schougaard
The apartment is placed near the Rambla and the Placa Reial in Barri Gotic. There is some noise from the street most of the night but this is also an great experience to be in the middle of the life in Barcelona. Your are close to everything, the metro, museums, shops, restaurants and the beach. The apartment is large and very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The apartment was very good, very clean, the location perfect, near everything. only that it was not easy with the wheelchairs. the elevator broke twice during our stay, which resulted in us missing out on some activities. I can warmly recommend this apartment to my friends.
Art 1 Apartment in Barcelona
Left on 11/14/2010 for a stay in October 2010 | Tom
We stayed for four nights with children aged 9, 7, and 3. The booking and check-in process were excellent and instructions etc were very clear. We had to change our arrival time the day before and late on Saturday evening because of the French train strike. This was no problem - we called the reservation number and it was answered and rearranged immediately. We were met on time and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Our main issue with the apartment was the level of noise. Despite the double glazing there was constant noise (from the street, music from other apartments, doors banging etc) until 3am every night. So people should be aware this is a relentlessly urban experience. We have lived in cities before but even so found the noise level disturbing as did the children. Another factor to be considered for those not used to "edgy" city centre living Is that the atmosphere of the area where this aprtment is changes markedly after 9pm with a less salubrious side emerging, including spotters, and what seemed to be prostitutes and drug deals. No more than you would get in any European city centre but be aware that this is not a residential area! The (fairly tame) sex shop diagonally opposite also has the potential to create some interesting conversations with the children! The location is fantastic for day-time, but we found ourselves a bit tired from lack of sleep. This apartment wouldbe brilliant for two or three couples wanting a base to explore Barcelona's nightlife or with older children, but with younger children only appropriate for people with a taste for very urban living.

We found this apartment when we were looking at alternative accomodation for a weekend stay in Barcelona. Between us it worked out cheaper than a hotel, especially as those in the area of Las Ramblas didn't even offer breakfast in their price.
The apartment was easy to find, especially with the directions sent to us from the Habitat company beforehand. It was in a great location and within easy walking distance of the metro.
The apartment was modern but cosy at the same time. It could get very noisy at night, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper or early to bed. The locals seem to stay out till about 7am, then the shops start to open!

not at the level one would expect
Left on 08/02/2010 for a stay in July 2010 | Antony
I would not be able to recommend Habitat apartments. The apartment had not been properly cleaned and several things in the flat that were not in working order - these are things are easy to get right and should always be so.
The curtains were hanging precariously and crookedly, the seat of the main chair in the living room is broken, one of the lamps in the living room is out of order and one of the main lights in the kitchen was out of order. The internet did not work for a day and a half and we had a water leak from the flat above (which is also managed by the same company). On arrival day, we left our shoes at the front door (as we do at home) and walked around the flat barefoot or in white socks, which became filthy immediately, demonstrating that a proper cleaning had not been done between rentals. There was hair from the previous renter as well. This is not the level one expects at the price we paid, so I have concerns about value for money. Lastly, a more minor comment, they do not provide for sufficient toilet paper for a week and expect clients to supply their own. This is a bit cheap. Read more
We regret that the guest was not satisfied. We fixed the curtain, the lamps/lights & internet connection and sent an additional maid service as the guest was satisfied with the cleaning.
We would mention that the apartment above Art 1 is not managed by Habitat Apartments and we do not know why this guest thought that. The leak was not something which could be fixed immediately, but it is now completely fixed.
We do offer a complimentary maid service if a guest does not find the cleaning up to standard.
We can confirm that everything is now in working order and Art 1 is a quality apartment to stay in right in the city centre.

Clean, Spacious, and Convenient Location
Left on 07/15/2010 for a stay in July 2010 | Family of 5; three adults and two children
Our family stayed one week in the apartment. At first, we were uncertain about our choice because we had difficulty finding the location. In addition, we arrived at night so the location appeared to be in unsafe alley, and one of the stores across from the apartment sells adult toys. However, once we saw the apartment, our minds were at ease. It was spacious. It was decorated simply with modern touches. The appliances, except for the dryer ,worked. Any repairs that we needed were taken care of promptly. It was very clean. It was within walking distance from restaurants, the sea port, great shopping, and mass transportation. the staff at Habitat was responsive and courteous.

The apartment was very nice, everything as pictured, comfortable, clean. A
little dark, but that's from the narrow streets, probably the same anywhere in
the old town.
What was missing from the otherwise well-equipped kitchen is a dishwasher.
At least two towels per person for a week would have been thoughtful.
The location is very convenient, although surely not the best idea to walk
around with easy-access purses. But never had any problems with two small
children, we were treated as locals by the "boys on the corner" after a few

This is a great apartment, with really nice quality fittings and fixtures - a real
change from many Spanish apartments. Loads of space.
The location is very convenient - but I must confess my kids were a bit put off
by some of the local characters who hang around on the street corner,
although I must hasten to add that as adults we felt fine.
When we arrived we were given a very good briefing about what to do in, and
in the vicinity of, the apartment.
We would definitely use this company again.

We stayed at the apartments as a family whilst visiting Barcelona for a wedding. We found the apartment facilities surprisingly fantastic! every attention had been made for our stay espcially with a brand new travel cot including lovely brand new sheets for the baby, which we had been a little apprehensive about what the travel cot could be like prior to our arrival.
The rooms were extremely well done out very stylish yet comfortable and homely. It was also a perfect location and good value for money it was so much better staying there for us with a baby than any Hotel. But had we no children we would still opt for an apartment like this one in particular, as it was spacious and of avery high standard.
Im not keen on lifts, but i dont know how reliable the one in the apartment building was on the whole. It stuck a couple of times when my husband tried to use it with the pram, however it was only 2 small flights of stairs up so easier just to walk being on the 1 st floor.
We'd definately book there again for future visits and certainly recommend to our friends.

The apartment was great, much bigger than we expected
from the website. It was a fantastic location near
Las Ramblas and despite its central location we
didn't find it too noisy. The apartment was very
well eqipped and the building had a lift which was
great for the luggage. It would be even better if it
had a dishwasher. The washing machine was great but
we couldn't work out how to use the dryer even with
the instructions! Would recommend it.
