Additional Location Information
The Princesa 1 apartment is located in the heart of the Born Area, almost certainly the trendiest and most original neighbourhood in Barcelona. If it’s modern and stylish, or just plain curious, you’ll find it here: from modern art galleries to one-off designer clothes stores, smart restaurants and cool cocktail lounges. Despite all this fashionableness the area still maintains the look and feel of centuries past, with narrow streets, hidden squares and historic buildings, in one of which you’ll find the Picasso museum and its impressive collection of the artist’s earlier work.
Some distances from the apartment:
- Picasso Museum - 50 metres
- Cathedral - 550 metres
- Las Ramblas - 800 metres

The one and only serious stain was the aggressive cleaning woman who came to apt. door one hour before agreed departure time 11:00 a.m.. She was nervously gesturing, pointing angrily her wristwatch repeating out,out out..
Strange behaviour. -

Checking in was a breeze, very easy.
The home was nicely furnished and had everything we needed.
The apartment was in the born district which felt safe and had a lot of chic shops, bars and restuarants, it was also very close to the gothic quarter and about 1 mile from Las Ramblas.
The location was great and the neighborhood was pretty quite, lots to do in walking distance. -

United kingdomGood location but poor heating, not recommended in winter!
Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Arrived in Barcelona during a rather cold spell with temperatures mainly below 5 degrees.
The apartment is clearly not equipped to deal with near zero temperatures. There were two portable electric heaters, one in each bedroom. However, when both were turned on at full setting, the main fuse kept tripping, probably due to overload, and we had to use the heaters at medium setting.
There was an air conditioner in the living room which can be used as a heater but this was rather ineffective.
There is no view from the apartment so the balcony serves no purpose.
There is a very convenient supermarket nearby on Passeig del Born.
Overall the checkin and checkout procedure was very quick and simple and we enjoyed our Barcelona with the exception of the cold weather and the lack of warmth in the apartment did not make it very inviting to return to after a full day outdoors.
Btw for travel to the airport you can easily catch a cab from the nearby train station which is a five minute walk. Taxi fare from the airport was about 27 euros or all four of us - just catch a cab from outside the terminal. Be warned that taxi drivers in general do not understand English so make sure you have written instructions or directions / address. -

Dejlig lejlighed med en perfekt beliggenhed tæt på cafeer, spisesteder, forretninger og transportmuligheder.
Mange steder at se inden for kort radius.
Lejlighed pæn, men mangler lidt farver (billeder). Kanaludvalg på TV dårligt. Madrasser i sengene lidt for hårde efter vor smag. Lidt mere service i køkken ønskeligt. -

a nice place in a good area. The cleaning when we arrived could have been better. The doorlock have to be changed, because it´s so easy to look yourself out. The restriction for the apartment are little too hard.

Omaha, NEOutstanding apartment in a great area !
Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My daughter ( 18 yr old) and I stayed at the Princesa 1 in the Born District! It was in a fabulous location with easy access to taxi's, cafes, tapas restaurants, night life, shopping , super markets, museums, cathedrals, all in walking distance from our front door! It's in a narrow street with big windows floor to ceiling that open to a street! Quiet and relaxing! We felt very safe and the apartment was more than expected . beds a little hard , no hangers, had a washing machine/dryer, one a set of towels per person with no wash cloths ( just hand/bath) ! Need to bring soap ( only tiny provided)! Although you can buy anything at the super market at a high price! Television was mostly spanish but can find a channel or two with english ( and sometimes cartoons)! Wireless internet worked great! Great book of information provided by Habitat! High ceilings which made the apartment feel very large and open! Cleaning is provided with more than a 7 day stay, she came, but we turned her away because no cleaning was needed and we were still sleeping, they did not let us know in advance! Habitat was very helpful in every way needed, our washer was broken but was replaced within 2 days! Bathrooms and bedrooms have sliding doors with out locks - not a problem for us . The pictures online had rugs and there were no rugs in apartment at all and the apartment was sparse with accessories! One couch and chair in living room with a dining table and 6 chairs . Our flight was late by two hours and Habitat charged us and extra 15 euros for having to come back to meet us ( even though we sent our flt information and times, which they could have checked online , I was very unhappy and disappointed)! If , you're traveling with teenagers this is a great location! All in all, was a great stay!

Excellent location for seeing the city, but somewhat frustrated by the facilities in the apartment not working. Particularly frustrating that washing machine/drier failed, leaving us with no dry towels and the apartment had no immediate back up available.

Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in November 2010
It is incredible that in all Spanish apartment you can rent, that there never is so much as salt and pepper.
Perhaps the landlord should tell the cleaning leaving it on the shelves. On the other side - 1 ? for pepper & salt from McD's is more annoying than really a problem...
Forget about watching TV, there are hardly any channels.
Otherwise fine but little sound sensitive apartment.
Don't let the key inside!!! = 100? extra... An the check-in man is not telling U that -

Great location (we simply loved the Born area). the apartment is very spacious and reasonably well equiped. The bedrooms are very quiet at night because they don't have external windows. the down side of this is that they get stifflingly hot. The owners should provide some fans . Generally we felt the furnishings and decor were getting pretty tired and the owner needs to invest if they want to retain a good business.

Stayed there 6 days with my brother and my parents. The apartment was clean, roomy and had all the amenties we needed. Quite like it is described on the website, although showing some signs of use since the pictures were taken (naturally). Really nice location in the very special medieval part of Barcelona, walking distance to a lot of attractions, restaurants, bars and so on. Habitat provided great service both before and during our stay in Barcelona. Highly recommended. Try Morelia, a great argentian restaurant right around the corner.

HelsinkiGreat location in the middle of a trendy neighbourhood
Left on 11/24/2009 for a stay in November 2009
The apartment is ideally located for a city break in Barcelona. Right around the corner there are bars, shops, a grocery store, banks, restaurants, Picasso museum, a park etc. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom with bath and a decently equipped kitchen. There´s also a washing machine and windows opening to a square, where they are building an extension to the Picasso museum, not noisy at the moment, but could get so in the future. Almost no traffic noise as the streets are too narrow for cars.
The apartment is what you see on the website, but with some wear and tear that has happened over the years. There´s a TV and a DVD player as well. Free wireless internet that worked like a charm.
All in all, I would recommend this very central location to anyone. Much preferred over locations in the Eixample or more distant neighbourhoods. -

Left on 11/06/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Princesa 1 apartment was well located with easy access to restaurants, bars and the sights of beautiful Barcelona. The apartment had everything a family needed including a washing machine and full kitchen facilities. The building was secure and the apartment also had a safe for valuables.
Checking in was easy and Esperanza was most helpful in explaining the features of the apartment as well as giving us some good local advice about tapas bars!
I liked the location and the amenities best. I least liked the occasional noise from the street late at night. -
