Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is known for its expanse of beaches , as well as its numerous bars and seafood restaurants . You will find the town close to the famous Barcelona port, near to some great museums, and within a short walking distance or a quick metro ride from all of the top spots for sightseeing in the city. La Barceloneta was originally constructed for the residents of La Ribera, who were displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella fortress built by King Felipe V in the 18th Century. Since then, with the development of Port Vell and Port Olímpic, the area has become a major attraction for tourists and residents. Nearby is the Barcelona aquarium and IMAX theatre, a large shopping center called Maremagnum, and a number of nightclubs, although the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet. If you walk down Passeig de Colom from Barceloneta, you will soon find yourself at Las Ramblas . Plenty of the beach apartments in Barcelona are located in this area, making it an ideal choice for a spring or summer vacation.

Great spot right on the beach!!! Abit small- very small bathroom! Bed's not the most comfortable either- wouldn't recommend a long stay. Had trouble collecting the keys also, our contact didn't show so had to do some calling round to get someone else to drop them off... But overall it was a good choice and good value for some beach time in Barcelona.

Location is great: near to the beach and near to the center of the city of Barcelona.
Parking is terrible: do not come with a (rental) car (like we did): no cheap parking nearby! Min. 30€/day. Public transportation is very well organised and nearby. Therefore a car does not make any sense.
The appartment is (like all appartments in Barceloneta) minuscule! The three very little rooms for 4 people are only usable for sleeping (keep in mind that there is a lot of noise during the whole night, the locals like to party!!) and maybe breakfast. Preparing further meals or staying over the day is virtually impossible. The bathroom is extremely small and very impractical. The appartment should only be used for sleeping. The very narrow stairs to the appartment are ancient and no elevator is available. The local people say that fischermann used to live like that more than 100 years ago. It almost loooks like nothing changed. Except for a small television and some light bulbs.
My summary: very small, narrow and near to the city and beach. -

the apartment, located in an very old building was too small for a family of four with only a two seater sofa in the sitting room. There was a sewage smell from the bathroom and bad smells from under the sink. The apartment looks straight across into another apartments balcony so privacy isn't an option and while you can see the sea if lean out over the balcony, I do not think the title of Seaviews is apt. Luckily, we were only staying a couple of days as the noise level was terrible at night since we were located right above a pub/ restaurant area which was lively right through the night with kegs of beer being pushed below the bedroom window and constant late night revellers talking/shouting etc.
Also, the accomodation office where we were told to pick up the keys got it wrong and we had a wasted taxi ride as the keys were at the apartment. -

Tsaying in this appartment is nothing for people who love luxury. It is very simple and quite small, but great!!! My wife and I stayed there with our three kids (1,7,14) and had a wonderful time. Use the balcony to be on your own once the kids are in bed, Use the babyphone to sit on the promenade of Barceloneta Beach while the kids are asleep. Enjy the authentic feel of a ctalan "workers'" flat. Beds are ok, shower is great, kitchen is a bit worn out, but hey, it's fun!There are some small supermarkets near buy,a bakery and a butcher's help providing you with all you need. The beach could be cleaner, but the kids don't notice anyway and you are not in Barcelona to go to the beach every day, I hope. Would definitely return there with my wife or with friends, but there are some friends I wouldn't take there as well. (luxury friends...)
