Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is known for its expanse of beaches , as well as its numerous bars and seafood restaurants . You will find the town close to the famous Barcelona port, near to some great museums, and within a short walking distance or a quick metro ride from all of the top spots for sightseeing in the city. La Barceloneta was originally constructed for the residents of La Ribera, who were displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella fortress built by King Felipe V in the 18th Century. Since then, with the development of Port Vell and Port Olímpic, the area has become a major attraction for tourists and residents. Nearby is the Barcelona aquarium and IMAX theatre, a large shopping center called Maremagnum, and a number of nightclubs, although the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet. If you walk down Passeig de Colom from Barceloneta, you will soon find yourself at Las Ramblas . Plenty of the beach apartments in Barcelona are located in this area, making it an ideal choice for a spring or summer vacation.

As we reached our residential area, we heard a woman calling my name. It was our really amiable contact person. Having climbed the stairs with our heavy baggages, our contact person welcomed us in our holiday flat. The check-in was very easy: We just had to give her the remaining amount for our flat and then we got our keys :-) .
Our holiday flat was really good. We had three rooms and one bathroom. The beds were very comfortable but the bathroom was a bit too little for us. I don't mind ! The main thing is that our flat is situated in a nice area. We were lucky :-). It was situated directly at the sea and you need only 5 minutes to get to the metro station. Because of that we got very fast to nearly ervery place. If you like to dance like we do, I recommend you to go to the lounge clubs and bars in the Port Olimpic quarter. We went to Shôko and sotavento. You don't need a metro or some other public transport to get there. Just walk along the seafront ;-).
To sum up, I would say that my highlights of Barcelona were our holiday flat in the awesome area, the beach, the sights (really beautiful architecture thanks to Gaudí :-) ) and the loung clubs which are situated directly at the sea.
Definitely I will come back to Barcelona and I only can recommend you to do the same as I will do: to join the most Beautful city in Europe :-)

excellent location. near center and near beach. really calm. good wifi.
excellent check-in. they were waiting for us.
view is exactly as on the picture. I don't know why but we were expecting a little more. You have the view on the street.
Apartment is dark. If you don't have to stay, eat at the apartment, it is not that bad. If you stay there more, it is a little depressing. -

I stayed from 30 march to 6 april
the apartment was OK,it had the essentials.It was not of the quality of an apartment I stayed in Lisbon 2 years previously.April.and it was 10euros per night less
the heater in the hall above the door was in the wrong place.The hot air rose up and there was a vent near the heater, so it was ineffective. It left the sitting room and bed room cold at night
I had to buy a fan heater myself. Which I left in your office as it was no good to me at home in Dublin
the location of the apartment was it's best feature
Suggestion---there are a lot of metal sculptures in the area which are rusting and look horrible.If you could get the council to paint them it would be great.Otherwise they should take them down

This apartment truly 5 mins or less walk to the beach. You can even clearly see the beach from the window albeit down an alley. And it's only about 10-15 mins away from attractions like La Rambla. Nearby you will find plenty of great restaurants and bars. And the people watching from the seafront promenade can't be beaten.
The rooms in the apartment are not huge but they are completely functional - and let's face it, when you visit Barcelona you don't do it to stay in your apartment for any length of time - you want to get out and about! The bed was comfortable, the shower did the job, nice cooling aircon, it has all the appliances you can need - it is very convenient to have a washing machine on holiday and rails to hang the washing on the balcony?
Because the location is near some lively establishments, there is a bit of noise at night but once you keep the balcony closed, it fades into the background.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is near the beach, near some restaurants, walking distance to the rest of this amazing city, and you're quite comfortable with compact rooms - this is definitely the place for you. -
