Additional Location Information
El Barri Gòtic , also known as the 'Gothic Quarter' is the heart of the old Barcelona city and the first part of the original Barcino, the ancient Roman city of Barcelona. El Barri Gòtic is located in the center of Barcelona, and with Las Ramblas on one side and Via Laietana on the other, its boundaries stretch all the way to the Mediterranean coast . The area is characterized by small, labyrinthine streets, intimate plazas, public spaces, and beautiful Gothic architecture . In the Barri Gòtic you will find the famous Barcelona Cathedral, as well as the political and public heart of Barcelona, Plaça de Sant Jaume , where the Generalitat de Catalunya operates. El Barri Gòtic is the perfect place to get an authentic feel for the rich history of Barcelona, as well as its effects on present day life in the city. Starting from Plaça de Catalunya, a walk down the Portal del Àngel, the first medieval entrance to the city, will take you to the many commercial shops and cafés that line the streets. While staying in an apartment in the Gothic Quarter, get lost among the many winding streets to discover quaint restaurants, shops, boutiques, and bars. Plaça Reial is also amongst the many must-see spots in the Gótico, all of which highlight the diversity that can be seen within the Catalan capital.

Left on 02/14/2012 for a stay in January 2012
'appartamento è carino, ma è terribilmente scomodo salire.
Per accedere all'appartamento si salgono scale strettissime e un pò pericolose, inoltre in quel periodo ai piani di sotto stavano ristrutturando, quindi rumori, polvere ecc.
Internet che era dichiarato ci fosse, non c'era e solo su nostra forte richiesta ci è stata data una chiavetta che funzionava molto lenta.
La location invece era bella, in pieno quartiere Gotico, con varie comodità nelle vicinanze- -

A welcoming apartment with a balcony, quiet outside at night. Close to the beach, short walk to main shopping area local grocery shop around the corner.

An excellent flat well positioned in the town. We were very pleased; Two ^points to note - tap water is undrinkable in the town therefore bottled water, which can be bought cheaply, is essential. The stairway was narrow and badly lit and the wiring looked very dangerous; no doubt this will have been put in order by now?

The Gothic apartment in Barcelona is in an excellent locaion in the heart of the Gothic area. The apartment had recently been renovated and contained tasteful inclusions. The stairwell was in the process of being renovated which made access in and out of the apartment difficult but a small price to pay for a great location. We were but a short stroll from the Harbour and the beaches and also the famous Las Ramblas.

I had a great stay in this nice apartment a very cool part of Gotic. Neat and clean and not super fancy but not crappy either. It's got great bars within a minute or two. Within five or ten minutes you can walk to hundreds of cafes and restaurants, the market, shops, with many galleries and museums scattered around. The staircase was super cool, wood and tight and you really feel the past. It was just what I wanted.

We had a great stay. the apartment was neat and tidy, the owner was friendly, prompt and helpful. the main bed was a little cheap, yet comfortable. It broke once since their is no box spring, was fixable though. Overall had a great time and enjoyed the location. Near the water, la ramblas and 2 metro stops were within walking distance.

I was very impressed with the apartment its appointments and its contents. I was also impressed with the security of the entry door. I felt as though I could leave valuables there all day and they would be safe. The only downside was the communal hallway which didn't seem as though it had been decorated since the complex was built. (Not the flat owners fault). The owner of the flat, Clara Gomez was very helpful and arrived on time to meet us and when we were about to leave.
