One bedroom apartment in a building with a lift, cute, quite and comfortable. Located in Gracia area, next to Passeig de Gracia and Diagonal avenues. One of the best areas of Barcelona, it is quite, beautiful and safe.
The apartment is located in the border between Gracia and Eixample neighbourhoods. This location has the best of these two areas of Barcelona. Visit the Gracia area. You can take a drink in one of the several terraces in the nice and quiet squares and relax there. Then, walk down Passeig de Gracia street and will see the most elegant boutiques in Barcelona and visit "La Pedrera", "Casa Batllo" and "Casa Mila", the amazing houses that Guadi built in the beginning of the last century. In the south part of Passeig de Gracia you will find Plaza Catalunya, the main center of Barcelona. Las Ramblas and Gothic area are walking down from Plaza Catalunya. Gracia can also offer you a large list of theaters and shows as well as charismatic bars and cafés if you need a peaceful rest. Don't miss the local festivities that are organized by the community and are always lively and interesting.

187443The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The Good: The location of this apartment was prime. Being in the Gracia area, away from the hustle and bustle of La Rambla gave us a place to unwind. The metro is very close and so we were able to siesta for a few hours in the day. The mattress was comfortable. Loved being in Gracia where we enjoyed the restaurants, markets and shops. Felt very safe. The young man checking us in was so friendly and helpful. He mapped out our top destinations and showed us how to get around the city, giving us useful tips & restaurant recommendations.
The Bad: Not as cute and stylish as it claims. The furniture was a bit shabby, the view from the window was to an inner courtyard where laundry was hung. The hallway into the apartment was dirty, drab & dark. I didn't feel like they were prepared for us. The bed was unmade with only one pillow and no pillow case. Set of towels were for one person & we had to ask for another set. So unlike our stay in Egypt where in the two different apartments we stayed at they had the proper amount of linens for each person, the rooms were welcoming and they even had some fruit and cookies to receive us.
The Ugly: Okay, all the above can be forgivable, but the two worst experiences were the lack of duvet covers & toilet paper. The "blankets" were duvet inserts, one of them was down-filled, but it was stained and I had to smell it to see if it was washed. Usually inserts have removable and washable covers, so to me it felt cheap and unsanitary not to provide them. We had half a roll of toilet paper, not enough for the 4 day stay w/ 2 people. We were told to go to the office to pick up another roll. When we went to get one a young lady told us we needed to buy our own. Really?? After protesting, she relented and gave us a roll. It was very demeaning to have to beg for a roll of toilet paper which should be included in the rental, especially for short-term stays.Response from Luis Caldentey - 05/17/2012
