Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is known for its expanse of beaches , as well as its numerous bars and seafood restaurants . You will find the town close to the famous Barcelona port, near to some great museums, and within a short walking distance or a quick metro ride from all of the top spots for sightseeing in the city. La Barceloneta was originally constructed for the residents of La Ribera, who were displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella fortress built by King Felipe V in the 18th Century. Since then, with the development of Port Vell and Port Olímpic, the area has become a major attraction for tourists and residents. Nearby is the Barcelona aquarium and IMAX theatre, a large shopping center called Maremagnum, and a number of nightclubs, although the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet. If you walk down Passeig de Colom from Barceloneta, you will soon find yourself at Las Ramblas . Plenty of the beach apartments in Barcelona are located in this area, making it an ideal choice for a spring or summer vacation.

The flat is right across from the beach. Despite a bar just at the corner, it was not noisy at night. We were a bit diappointed with the flat itself - it was badly in need of redecoration. There was only one soft chair, despite the fact the flat had two bedrooms and could therefore sleep four. There was no kettle and a minimum amount of crockery and cutlery. The contact person was supposed to speak English, but this was not the case. Therefore there was some confusion with check-in. We contacted the owner about the lack of kettle, to be told we could boil water in a pot! The whole place could have done with a good scrub!

Nice location near the beach.Great selection of bars and restaurants nearby.Bathroom very small but adequate.

Dirty, noisy and uncomfortable
Mattress rotten and linen very dirty
Hairs in the toilets and even in the washing machine
Bad smell of humidity in all the flat
Walls with damp patches

When we cheched in, we were asked not to touch the linen on the balcony which took all the place,and when we left we understood that it was for the next lodgers, it staid one week outside under the rain, the dust. -

Me and my better half stayed here for four nights in november.Met the rep.at the apartment.He did not speak english but it went ok.The flat is quite small,looks bigger on the photos.The bathroom was very very small,but warm water the hole stay.Uncomfortable beds,too soft.Everything was clean though.
The balcony was small and had no furniture.
The view was great.We spent a lot of time at the kitchentable looking at the sea and people passing by.There are lots of restaurants just around the corner.Park Citaudella is just 15 min. walk away.Been to Barcelona twice before so we had a really relaxing break.
My better half got his wallet stolen the very first day,so leave money and creditcards etc.in the apartment,thats safer.
I do recommend this flat mainly because of the magnificant seaview.
