At the end of Avinguda Diagonal is the brand-new residential district of Diagonal Mar , located right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This district is the newest addition to Barcelona, having been opened in 1999 and developed for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures. Here you will find the Diagonal Fòrum , a triangular building designed by architect José Mateo that defines the area's modernist feel. The Forum is surrounded by newly constructed skyscrapers, luxury apartments , and features two well-known parks offering a green haven just outside the city center. The Forum is home to a number of festivals and exhibits throughout the year, bringing new life and culture to the area. While the area is considered to be the most modern part of Barcelona , it still retains a traditional Spanish feel, with local restaurants and bars serving tapas, sangria, and paella . The area is perfect for families, friends and those traveling to Barcelona on business, and offers attractions for all types of visitors.

  This apartment is located in a private and secure building in a quieter area of Barcelona, but is a quick ride on the efficient Metro to the heart of the city. There is a shopping mall and grocery store across the street, and the beach is a five minute walk away. Perhaps the best thing of this modern apartment is the amazing views of the city and the Mediterranean. From the expansive balcony you can see the iconic Sagrada Familia church, the entire city layout, the beach, and the surrounding mountains. Check-in was simple and the owner was very warm and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.
