The apartment has a maximum capacity of 8, and may not be booked for greater numbers.
In order to guarantee a reservation or booking, we require a down payment of 10-20% of the total price for your stay. This down payment is non refundable. Upon arrival at the apartment we require the payment of remaining balance, a 400€ security deposit against any possible damage made during your stay, and 70€ cleaing fee. The 400€ security deposit will be entirely refunded during the check-out if the apartment is left in good condition (as it was during the check-in) and no apartment items are damaged or missing. The apartment will be cleaned before you arrive, but it will not be cleaned during your stay.

The apartment is located direct in the center, it is spacious and in good condition, but not perfect.
Couple of points for other travelers:
The apartment has only one TV with unfortunately only spanish local programs - no international news channels in english language are provided, not even CNN, - this was very disappointing for us because in the evening we like to relax and watch TV in english language, specially news channels, but not even one was provided in this apartment!
We missed also a stereo-system in the apartment.
Another issue - in the FlipKey listing the owner offered "high speed internet" - in fact the internet was slow. We run speed-test programs several times and found out that the maximum internet speed was always only about 1,5 Mbits!
Two sliding windows - facing a small backyard at the same level - was not lockable and can very easy quietly opened from outside, so we felt not very safe in the apartment.
When we reported this issue to the owner she told us that she is aware about this flaw already since a long time, but the think this is no problem ...
Unfortunately the owner did not provide a small safe for our passports, money and other valuables but she warned us in a leaflet about pickpockets on the streets.
The question for us was where to keep our valuables?
While we used the dishwasher, the circuit breaker interrupt the current in the whole apartment several times, this was annoying...Response from Cristina Murio - 11/11/2012

We take the comments and suggestions of our guests very seriously, especially when they refer to issues that can be improved or corrected and therefore we appreciate their contribution. We are grateful to those who take the time to make positive reviews of their experience in our apartments, too. However, not all clients have the same preferences and we try hard to make their stay in our apartments be as pleasant as possible. Many of the things that our clients enjoy and speak of in their reviews come from suggestions of our previous guests.
There are three issues that were raised by the reviewer that we would like to address:
First is the issue of the apartment's safety. The apartment is very safe. The apartment does not have a backyard. The apartment has a light & ventilation well, as required by law. This shaft is inaccessible from the outside. In fact there are no access doors to it. The only way to get into this shaft is through the apartment's window itself. When I explained to this reviewer that there was no problem with the windows, I was not being glib; I meant there really is no safety problem.
The fact that we advise our guests to be careful with pickpockets is because we believe that pickpockets in all cities over the world target tourists as their favorite prey. We do that to remind our guests of this threat, not to scare them. Barcelona is a safe city, but there are pickpockets.
Following these comments, however, we will install safety boxes for the peace of mind of our guests. Thank you for the suggestion.
Another issue is the Internet speed connection. We do advertise, as he correctly mentions, a high speed Internet connection. Our statement is based on the fact that there is a 20Mb ADSL Orange connection to our apartment. Therefore, we understand that what we advertise is correct and there is no falsehood or misleading statements as the reviewer' writing suggests. Nevertheless, we have spoken to Orange support to see if there is anything wrong with the connection.
Finally, the issue of the dishwasher. An electrician has been brought into the apartment to check and fix the problem. Thank you for letting us know. Carmen.

This fantastic 3-bedroom apartment is as good as it looks in the photos-and the living/dining room is even more spacious and elegant with its beautiful mosaic floors, high ceilings and balconies. It allowed great privacy for us as two couples staying there for a week . The master bedroom faces the street, but the double (triple?) pane windows and the shutters allow privacy and enough quiet for the city location. The location couldn't be more central-one long block to the Placa Catalunya, where the airport bus stops, meeting place for walking tours, tourist information, beginning of Las Ramblas, and on and on. There is a metro stop out the front door and more at the Placa Catalunya, and taxis are plentiful nearby, with a stop at the intersection. Great restaurants and tapas bars are plentiful and the grocery store (the huge El Corte Ingles) is five minutes away. For Gaudi fans, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila (rooftop great at sunset) are both just a few blocks up the street. Carmen, the owner, graciously answered a few pre-arrival questions and helped us arrange a package delivery to the apartment. She met us as we arrived and showed us how to operate the equipment, and gave us a few restaurant recommendations-in addition to the plentiful library of information already in the apartment. We loved the apartment-it enhanced our wonderful time in Barcelona.

We were greeted warmly by owner Carmen who toured the property with us and told us how to work the appliances and such.
The immaculate apartment blends old world European charm with modern convenience. The kitchen and baths are modern, while the decor reflects the apartments history. Carmen has seen to almost every need of the traveler, with a box of converters at the ready, a small trolley for carrying groceries, a sturdy ironing board and iron, and more. The beds and furniture are comfortable, the towels soft, the linens crisp and fresh. The location is ideal, most sights are within easy walking distance. We were there during one of the country's highest heat waves, and found the air conditioning to work perfectly during our stay. Under Carmen's careful stewardship, this apartment is ideal for the traveler who wants the luxury of a high end hotel and the comfort of an elegant home. Our family of four, with two teens, would not consider staying elsewhere in the city after enjoying this apartment. -

We had a wonderful stay in Carmen's 3 bedroom apartment. Carmen met us at the door and did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The apartment is fully loaded with everything one could want. The location is very convenient to transportation and all the major sites. We highly recommend this apartment.

We were so very pleased with our apartment, It was quite spacious and was with in walking distance of the Bari Gothic, las Ramblas, bars, restaurants, shopping and several Guadi sites.
The Subway was directly in front of our Buldling, so you could go anywhere easily.
Carmen was very nice and easy to work with. I accidently left with a set of keys in my purse. I overnighted them to her a couple of days later and she was quite gracious about it. The only potential issue might be if you are as attached to air conditioning as I am. The unit has tall ceilings in an older building and it was difficult to keep the apt cooled down. Fortunately, it was not that warm mid june in Barcelona. Carmen very graciously purchased fans for our rooms,which sufficed. I might mentioned while we had a 3 bedroom unit, there was a 2 bedroom unit right across the hall and their aC worked beautifully. Both apartments were very clean and nicely furnished. -

We stayed in the apartment at Paseo de Gracia at the end of May, 2012. After a week of hotels, it was like having our own oasis in the most beautiful part of the city. The location is perfect, close to the center of the old city, but far enough from the rowdy crowds. We could walk everywhere from there, and for excursions, the subway is literally steps away. The apartment was spacious, very well appointed, and very comfortable. The kitchen was modern, and had plenty of room for all 4 of us. The bathrooms were large and modern as well. We would highly recommend this apartment as a great alternative to a hotel.

We stayed here with our party of 6 (my wife, me, mother and 3 kids.) It was very easy to get to from the airport. It was very clean and met our needs well. We only did some very basic cooking in the kitchen but everything worked well. The location is on a very elegant, yet busy, street in Barcelona. The city truly does not sleep at night, but this is part of it's allure. It is about 3 blocks to Placa de Catalunya and the start of La Ramblas. The Metro station is also right in front of the building. There are many nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Carmen was very easy to work with. Her daughter met us at the apartment when we arrived to show us how everything works. The concierge helped us get a taxi for our ride to the train station. Everyone was extremely helpful.

we stayed here with our 3 teenage sons. the apartment has lots of space, is clean, beautiful and safe. the location could not have been better. we had easy access to the subway.( right out side your door) and grocery stores. carmen the owner was wonderful and very helpful. the doorman was also fantastic, helpful and kind. i could not recommend this place more. if we ever come back i would definitely come back to this apartment or any apartment that carmen rents. it was an amazing apartment, wonderful city and an absolutely perfect trip.

Carmen Salvado, the owner, is the key to this place. While it is centrally located (you cannot get more 'central' than this address), and while it is an elite building, with gardien, and while the place is immaculate and has every appliance you could want, the most important thing in any rental is the owner. This one is wonderful.
We stayed in unit 2, which really has 2 bedrooms, and one optional (but open to all), with hide-a-bed. Ideal for up to 3 people, but can handle up to 5.
The enviable centrality of the location could have been a drawback: noise. It wasn't, due to the double-pane windows and high-quality a/c.
This place will not disappoint. -

After spending hours trying to find the perfect apartment in Barcelona, I was fortunate enough to come across the 3-bedroom on Paseo de Gracia. Everything was superb! Carmen met us the first day, and was fantastic. She showed us how all the appliances worked in the apartment, and left us a book with near-by restaurants and attractions. There was even a grocery store 5 minutes away. Modern features, mixed with some eclectic Spanish decor made this apartment fantastically charming! There was even a little balcony to watch the hustle and bustle on the sidewalks below.
The location is simply fantastic. Right in front is a subway stop, and just minutes away from Ramblas. I would highly recommend this apartment, and will book this for my next trip to Barcelona--wouldn't stay anywhere else! -

When I enquired about the 3 bedroom apartment it was booked and Carmen suggested her other apartment in the same building so we book it instead. As a result, my husband and I and our two teenage sons (ages 17 and 19) stayed in the lovely 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean and well maintained. One of my sons stayed in the small bedroom - he set up both beds so that he could have more room to spread out, and our other son slept on the pull out sofa in the dining room. Both had enough room to unpack their clothes etc. as there is closet space in the bedroom and a shelving unit in the dining room. It was nice to have two full bathrooms for 4 people. The kitchen was well stocked and it was great to have a washer and dryer. We really enjoyed standing on the balcony and people watching. The free internet connection was appreciated as it gave the boys a chance to stay in touch with their friends back home. The apartment has a great location it is just down the street from several major Gaudi buildings and a very short walk to Playa Catalunya. There was a subway stop and Touristic bus stop right in front of the apartment and it is an easy walk to La Rambla and the Market. I would return to this apartment again and recommend it to a couple or a small family. It may not be suitable to two couples unless one couple was willing to use the pullout sofa as the small bedroom really accommodates only one person or two children. Thank you Carmen for all your help and for providing such a nice apartment. Hopefully we will be back.

This apartment was wonderful. The location is ideal. It was clean and in a safe area.
We loved the little espresso maker in the kitchen and quickly became addicted to espresso! You can get refill cartridges at the Nespresso shop.

The apartment was even better than expected. Located in the midst of Barcelona, we were able to walk everywhere ( La Rambla, Sagrada Familia, Boqueria, Subway, Train, Palau de Musica, Casa Batillo La Pedrera, etc). The apartment was comfortable, spotless, modern and very well furnished. The showers, bathrooms and kitchen were immaculate and we felt safe and welcomed by Carmen and her husband. Having rented houses throughout the world, this could not have been a better experience. 5 Stars all the way. Carmen, we will be back. Thank you.

This apartment was spectacular! It had a great view of the most beautiful part of the city. The location could not have been better. The apartment was so well situated that we were walking distance away from most of the sites we wanted to see. Conveniently, there was a metro station directly in front of the apartment. There were great restaurants just around the corner such as Tapas 24. In addition, we were around 3 blocks from El Corte Ingles, which had a grocery store inside with all the provisions you would need.
The apartment was as beautiful in person as it was in the pictures on the website. It was impeccably clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The fact that the owner greeted us at the door was a nice welcoming touch. This added a more personal feel to our stay as he gave us a tour of the apartment and showed us how everything worked. He also took the time to familiarize us with the area. Our stay was absolutely perfect. This rental will be a definite must when we come back to visit Barcelona :) -

Our family rented the 2BR apartment for four nights. What a treat! The apartment itself is modern, clean and well-equipped with comfortable beds, flat-screen TV, marble bathrooms and great appliances in the kitchen (including a Nespresso coffee machine) and washer/dryer. The location cannot be beat -- on the Passeig de Gracia close to the Casa Batllo and many of Barcelona's architectural masterpieces. You can walk everywhere or take the bus or metro, both with stops outside the building. Carmen provided excellent customer service, meeting us at the apartment and giving us an orientation. We liked it so much, we arranged to stay an extra day!

I am still on vacation in Spain so I will make this short and sweet. Things could not have gone any smoother. Carmen( the owner met us at the apartment when we arrived and took lots of time to talk to us about Barcelona, and give us inside info into the city. There were only four of us, but the place could easily have slept more. It is located in probably the most central area in Barcelona. I read reviews about people complaining about noise, but for us that wasn't really an issue. There is a subway right out the door, but you don't need it much because you can walk everywhere. All the appliances worked well( we couldn't figure out how to use the washing machine, but it is our fault because Carmen tried to explain it to us). I would highly recommend a stay here.

We just returned from a terrific week in Barcelona where we stayed in this spectacular apartment. It is clean, beautiful, safe and quiet. On top of all that, it is in an absolutely perfect location, within walking distance of many top sites (Casa Mia, Casa Batllo, La Rambla, and La Boqueria, just to name a few), and right by a very convenient metro stop that can take you everywhere you want to go quickly. We are a family of five, and having a washer/dryer and a full kitchen really made our stay easy, far better than staying in a hotel. Sipping a delicious espresso while relaxing on the couch in the morning and looking out the beautiful french doors at lovely Barcelona, who could ask for more?!

This is by far the most beautiful apartment we have ever stayed in. Carmen was incredibly organized, efficient, and helpful. Everything we could possibly need was in the apartment. The gorgeous bathrooms, comfortable beds, tastefully decorated kitchen and family rooms, all exceeded our expectations. Having such a great place to stay made our trip even better. The location was perfect for access to all the sights of Barcelona and shopping. We were minutes away from anywhere we wished to go. This is the place to stay in Barcelona!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and enjoyed the accommodations as well as the location. Apartment was clean, modern, beautifully decorated, equipped for all our needs. So much better than a hotel! The Metro is located right outside the front door! Right next to Plaza Catalunya, short walk to Las Ramblas, we also walked to Gothic section from apartment. Restaurants, shops, everything you could want is right there. Concierge at apartment was helpful too. Carmen is gracious and accommodating, waiting for us after a long luggage delay at the airport. All correspondence was thorough, efficient, professional. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to see Barcelona. You will not be disappointed.

If you are like me, you spend hours looking for the perfect vacation rental for your family. Well, if you have stumbled across this apartment listing, you can end your quest because you have found now found the perfect apartment.
We had the privilege of spending the week between Christmas and New Year's with our 4 teenagers in this fabulous apartment.
Carmen, the owner, is a complete delight. She was 100% available for us. She met us at the apartment when we arrived and walked us through the entire apartment and patiently explained to us americans how to work all the European appliances. (We also discovered that she lives on an olive farm and bought her olive oil as our European souvenir from the coolest kitchen shop just around the corner from the apartment!)
The location of the apartment is phenomenal. I still can't believe we found this place. It is one block from the main square of the city. We were in walking to distance to virtually everything. There was also a subway stop literally right outside our door.
The apartment was amazing. We felt like we were living in the lap of luxury. I looked at countless properties around Barcelona and can say unequivocally that this is the best value available. Two of the bedrooms were very roomy. The third was plenty adequate for our two teenage boys. The living room was gorgeous with gorgeous balcony views. The bathrooms are very modern as is the kitchen. The kitchen even has a Nespresso machine. There is a really cool Nespresso store just a couple blocks up. If you are a coffee drinker at all, you will be hooked!! We bought one as soon as we got back to the states!
You will not regret booking this apartment!!! -

My husband, son (age 21) and I enjoyed 5 nights at this beautifully decorated, fully equipped, comfortable and spacious apartment in the heart of Barcelona. We felt it was a 5 star accomodation. The apartment was spotless and comfortable and had every amenity you could want and then some. Centrally located one block from Plaza Cataluyna, the apartment is adjacent to the Metro subway, and very convenient to local restaurants and shops, Las Ramblas -perfectly located for easy access to all the wonderful places you would want to visit in Barcelona. We enjoyed walking everywhere! Carmen was very gracious and attentive to our needs and was available for us anytime. Thank you, Carmen . . . we will definitely be back!
