The neighbourhood of Gràcia is one of Barcelona’s most picturesques areas. With narrow and winding streets, little squares and traditional old style buildings, is a very bohemian area full of alternative bars, pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and cultural centres as well as good vegetarian restaurants and health-food stores. Here you can find one of Gaudí’s first works: Casa Vicens (1883-88) and, with just a few minutes of walk, his most famous work of art: the Sagrada Familia Church.

  Apartment was very comfortable and clean. Good location, quite close to the subway. Staff was very nice and helpfull. It was easy to contact with the office. If we had a problem they solved it very quickly.
  There was 4 of us and the baby, so 3 bedrooms (2 were small, but that was ok) and 2 toilets was perfect solution for us.

  Cozy and quiet, excellent value

  I rented this apartment for a week, for four of us: my brother and me, and our elderly parents. We were very pleased with our experience. The apt has step-free elevator access, is very quiet (a huge plus) and rather cozy: one smallish but quite functional living room, with attached open-plan kitchen area; a double bedroom with decent-sized ensuite bathroom, two small single rooms, and a second bathroom. Perfect for four adults. Supermarkets and corner stores around the corner.
  
  Some of the Ikea furniture was a little flimsy (chairs in particular) but not a problem really and easily fixed. The bedrooms have metal blinds, which is great for those who want total darkness while sleeping. However, the electric open/shut mechanism is unreliable. The very friendly and efficient staff offered to fix it next morning, but we were happy to leave them closed the whole time.
  
  In 10-15 min you can walk to the heart of Gracia, or get back down from Park Guell. In 5-10 min you can walk to Sagrada Familia, and the Joanic L4 metro stop is 4 blocks away and takes you in 3 stops to Pg de Gracia etc. Unless you are a party animal who needs to be in the middle of the action at all times, this is a better choice of location than in the middle of the old city. At least if your party includes people who do need a good night's sleep.
  
  The staff of Lodging in Barcelona were incredibly friendly, responsive and accommodating. Our returning flight departed in the early evening and I asked if we could leave our luggage in their office after checking out at 11am. They did us one better and let us stay as long as we needed, since there was no booking for that evening.
  
  Highly recommended.
