Los AngelesGreat place to stay in Barcelona with a child

My wife and I had a wonderful stay with our one year old son at this central Barcelona apartment. We were just steps from major attractions, restaurants and transportation. The only downside of the apartment is the noise from the bar below late at night. Just keep in mind that you are visiting Barcelona... 'the city that never sleeps'.

Perfect flat, only negative point: on weekend-nights it can be quite noisy due 'til 2/3 am. Heating and WiFi are the real plus points if you are staying in colder season :)
Nice to know: beds width: 1.2 meters -

All contacts and communications with the agents were excellent. The apartment was spotless and comfortable with everything we needed. The only suggestion would be to add some kind of clock. Importantly, the bed was comfortable. Based on feedback I had from the tripadvisor forum, I was concerned that noise in the area would be an issue, but happily it wasn't - and we were there during a national holiday. We loved the Born area and the location was perfect - well away from the craziness of La Rambla! We could hop on the metro that was a block away or walk anywhere we wanted to be. The shops and restaurants in the Born are amazing! Would love to go back for a girl's shopping trip. I have no hesitations about recommending this apartment.

We rented the Born Princesa for 9 days in May following a transatlantic cruise. Although we had to wait for an hour outside the apartment on the sidewalk for someone to arrive to let us in (although they kept saying they would be there when we called), the rest of the experience was exceptional. The apartment is on a one-way, lightly traveled street. Lightly traveled by motorized vehicles, that is. The area is predominantly pedestrian, with small pedestrian alleyways leading off to wonderful restaurants, shops, and museums. The Picasso museum is only a half block away, and every alley opens onto a small plaza with outdoor restaurants. It is magical. The location is within walking distance to literally hundreds of tapas bars, restaurants, the waterfront, museums, theatres, and public transportation. A large public park is right down the street, and miles of waterfront walkways are within a few blocks. Las Ramblas was a few blocks away, not actually somewhere i would have wanted to actually stay.
The apartment itself is on the 3rd floor, with two small balconies with floor to ceiling french doors. We left them open when we were in. The small but totally efficient granite-topped kitchen is perfect for small meals - but who would cook when there are so many fantastic restaurants? The bed, couch, and bathroom were fine. The lack of any English TV channels kept us practicing our Spanish when we turned it on. There was access to internet but we couldn't get it to work for us. The small elevator broke down on the 3rd day with no hope of it being fixed while we were there - nor did we ever see anyone working on it. We needed the walk after all the eating, but stair-challenged people might not want this apartment as there really is very little connection with the people to rent the unit. Lugging our luggage downstairs the last day was interesting, but we had lugged it all over Barcelona our first day as we couldn't check into the apartment until 2:00 and the cruise ship gets in at dawn! There just isn't anywhere to store luggage, and this apartment agency wasn't accommodating even though we originally stated we had to check in early (this was not made clear until after we had paid the holding fee but I probably should have called instead of emailing).
I would rent this unit again, and highly recommend it to travelers who want to feel they are in the middle of a typical mid-city neighborhood. Area has a very gothic feel, but totally safe. Quite basic apartment, but definitely a find for the price. The pluses definitely outweighed any problems. -
