Additional Location Information
El Born is one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Barcelona and has become even more so over the last few years, combining a perfect balance between historical treasures, culture and “coolness”; an area very much sought after by the locals as well as the visitors. This area also boasts some of the highest property prices in the city …. This wonderful neighbourhood is full of many great bars, cafes, restaurants and is especially great for one of a kind boutiques as well as other, very well known clothing brands, such as Custo. The Born area is in such a great location, close to the Old Port and the beach, it’s surrounded by all the other cool and interesting places in Barcelona such as Barrio Gotico, Barceloneta, Old Port and Via Laietana. The Park Ciutadella is also a quick 5 minute walk from this area, perfect for a long stroll after a lovely lunch in one of the many terraces the Born has to offer.
A main feature of this great area is the wonderful basilica Santa Maria del Mar, right in front of this magnificent landmark, Barcelona’s guests can enjoy tapas and wine and watch the world go by…Other spots not to miss include Paseo del Born which is full of great bars and makes this area a lively night spot; not far from here is the Picasso museum….. The Born also has it’s own market, Santa Catarina with it’s funky, bright coloured roof. And finally not to be forgotten is the fantastic Palau de la Musica, which is possibly the most dazzling work of modernist architecture present in Barcelona….

Lexington, Kentucky5-Bedroom apartment in Born Neighborhood
Left on 04/16/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We just returned from a one week stay at the 5-bedroom flat in Barcelona and things could not have gone better. The owner, Horacio, provided us with excellent information prior to arrival and met us at the flat on a very busy Easter Sunday afternoon. We were driving in from Zaragoza and he was patient with our late arrival and guided us to parking which saved us quite a bit of money. In short, Horacio was an excellent guide and host.
The flat itself is exactly as described, including being very clean. We were two families with 10 people, including five teenage boys. We fit comfortably and were even able to host two friends for dinner without a problem. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Our friends cooked us a large dinner and were impressed with the outfit of the kitchen. We used the washer and dryer daily.
The Born area is very interesting. Our friends in Barcelona wondered how we found a place in this neighborhood. There are restaurants, stores and plazas all over. The Italian restaurant behind the flat is great, especially Wednesday-Saturday when they have live jazz. Everything in the neighborhood is compact without a lot of tourists. That being said, you can walk to most things you want to visit within 10-minutes, including two metro stations, museums, Las Ramblas, etc. The area feels safe as well as we were out late returning from an FC Barcelona game and felt comfortable.
This is not a luxury flat but it is very well done, well-maintained, comfortable and quite convenient. Horacio is very attentive. I would recommend this flat to family and friends. -

Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were seven women travelling, and it was great to have an apartment with so many separate bedrooms. Two bathrooms also helped the mornings run smooth! Flat is in the middle of fabulous Bourne area, best place to stay in Barcelona for food and shopping that isn't too commercial. All fussy women agreed that we'd recommend this to anyone - large families or larger groups of people. Not a massive living room space but great for getting together after a long day out in wonderful Barcelona!

Dear Horacio
Thanks for a nice stay in a truly beautiful and cosy apartment which fully fulfilled our expectations, located very central especially in relation to El Born, with the wonderful tapas bars and the diverse business community in the small streets with a very nice atmosphere . The apartment was clean and in a fine condition and also very well equipped.
As host you where providing a perfect service, both in connection to introducing to the apartment and the close surroundings, parcs, restaurants, special attractions etc.
Our recommendations for attractions to experience, beside the nearest neighbourhood with all the restaurants and nightlife, is park GĂĽell, Sagrada familia, montjuĂŻc , Picasso Museum, Ciutadella park and offcourse Las Ramblas with the old market. and last but not the least the beach witch is in walking range from the appartment.Response from Horacio Neira - 10/13/2012

This unit is well located- the short walk of a couple blocks takes to you any of the several Barcelona Districts you'll want to visit. The flat is well equipped and reasonably quiet - given the usual sounds of the city. There were 5 in our group and actually room for a couple more.

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I was notified that this apartment was double booked a week or two before our departure and that our family will need to split up into two apartments for the first few nights. Needtheless to day, this put a damp on our long awaited vacation. Upon arrival, we were shown these two alternative apartments. One was not acceptable and we declined. We took the other one, which was a charming loft style apartment. We had to scramble and looked for a hotel after a long exhausting trip to get there. To their credit, we were given additional discount for this mistake (plus a bottle of wine and free Wi-Fi); nonetheless, it was a lot of hassel to pack and repack and get everyone settled in. We were also offered help on moving our luggage from one apartment to the other. Onto the actual apartment, it is exactly like the photos shown on the website. With the exception of one bedroom, the rest of them are a bit on the small side but that could just be the style in Spain. The kitchen has everything one would ever need to function well in a kitchen. The washer and dryer came in handy. The air-condition worked well, which is essential this time of the year. Some of the bedrooms were subjected to the noise from the streets but I think that would be the case at a lot of apartments. Afterall, the night life is what makes this a fun city so we were not too bothered by this. The location is the best part about this apartment and it is wonderfully surrounded by countless restaurants and shops. It is also close to a lot of area's attractions. We walked to a lot of places and we also utilized the subway. Getting to places was not a problem at all. One really does not need a car. The owner also provided a lot of info/direction, which was very much appreciated. The security to the apartment building was very solid. We felt very safe. The check out process was painless. We were just a bit late in checking out and they were very accommodating. In the end, the kids had tons of ice cream, tried the tapas and had a lot of fun at the beach and ultimately that was the most important thing to our family.

The apartment was perfect for us. Seven of us shared for my 50th birthday celebration. We had everything that we needed, it was very well stocked out for visitors, including towels, guide books maps of the area etc. taxies to & from the airport were arranged for us & everything went very smoothly. The flat is very close to the Picasso museum & some bars where we ate breakfast every morning. There was a small super market for water etc just round the corner. I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a central location, it was great!

Left on 04/18/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I usually do not write this type of recommendations, but, I thought it would be great for people to know about our experience at this apartment-since the owner was so helpful to get us in the apt. We were 9 in total in our group...and did not feel overcrowded in the apartment. The layout is good, and while it does not have a big living/dining area, it is perfect space for a more than comfortable stay. The rooms are big enough, offers two good bathrooms, and it has a good kitchen. The owner keeps the apartment very clean and well decorated. It is located in a great neighborhood of Barcelona which is well known and safe. It is close to the Picasso Museum. In the are there are lots of great restaurants, bars, and the shopping area is great. We enjoyed walking and dinning around the area. I do recommend this place for large families or group of friends. Good luck in beautiful Barcelona! we enjoyed staying at the apartment...and will do it again!

Left on 04/17/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We are a Norwegian family, and in addition to us parents, we brougt four teenagers /young adults. We stayed there for eight days. It was a really good experience. The area El Born is very nice and close to the more busy Ghotic area and La Rambla, and also close to Barceloneta and the beach.
The flat was as described, it was clean and everything worked well. The livingroom is a bit small, but has a good table for etaing meals for 6-8 people, so that was not a problem. Bedrooms were really good, bathrooms were excellent and there was not any noise at night. The manager was very helpful. We certainly recommend this appartment. -

This apartment was in the excellent El Born area, close to all the amenities. 10 min walk from the port, Ramblas, markets and the other tourist areas. A well equipped apt. and friendly helpful service provided by Pia and Horatio. I would stay here again and have no problem in recommending it. A lift is available for those with mobility problems.

Left on 03/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This is a lovely apartment and I would definitely recommend it to others. From the start, the communication with the owner was excellent. I received lots of useful information about the apartment and the surrounding areas. Horacio helped us to book a taxi transfer from the airport which made life easier, and he answered all the questions we had very promptly. When we arrived at the apartment, it was just as we imagined from the photos. The apartment was clean and welcoming. Each bedroom had lots of storage space and the kitchen was well equiped. The location of the apartment was perfect. Even though it was easy walking distance to the metro stations, we actually walked to most of the tourist sites from the apartment. There are several nice bars and restaurants nearby and a supermarket just up the road so everything was convinient. We particularly like El Foro restaurant which served the most delicious argentinian steak. Most importantly though, the flat was quiet so we all slept well after all the sightseeing and dining.

Myself and 2 other families stayed in this lovely apartment in barcelona, there are 3 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, both with a shower and one also has a bath, we booked this apartment for our 3 families to share for the weekend in barcelona and wasnt disappointed. The apartment was modern, roomy and clean, it is also very centrally located in the Born area, easy for us to get back to the airport via train, and walking distance to everywhere we wanted to get to. Horacio and Pia were very helpful in suggesting things for us to do and Pia gave us alot of tourist information on the handover. I would definately recomend this apartment to all my family and friends, and would certainly stay here again when next in barcelona.

We stayed at the apartment in February, Horacio the owner gave us a warm welcome and plenty of information about places to see and eat. The apartment is located in Born in the Gothic quarter near the harbour there are lovely chi chi restaurants, bars, and shops in this area.
All the bedrooms were large and of a similar size and calibre so no arguments as to who gets which room. The central heating worked well and the kitchen was well equipped. we will definitely stay there again. -

Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This apartment is in an amazing location. It's close, but not too close, to Las Ramblas and lots of great shops, museums and restaurants. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He even brought us umbrellas on our first day so we wouldn't have to buy them ourselves and left us a map and other goodies! The apartment is also pretty well equipped for cooking, etc. It even has a washer and dryer.
My complaints are minor and easy to fix. First, the pillows are terrible! My husband and I had to share the one long flat pillow (the width of the double bed) which is not conducive to quality sleep. Easily remedied by bringing your own pillow. The other problem is that there isn't enough hot water for everyone to have a hot shower. We remedied that by having everyone turn the water off when shampooing, lathering, etc. That seemed to work fairly well. -

My family and a couple of friends with kids stayed in this apartment after returning from a Mediterranean cruise, and could not have picked out a better place to stay . We loved this apartment, it was newly renovated, modern and fitted out with all the best appliances, tastefully decorated with some artwork and nice paintings on the walls, very colourful and cheerful with exposed brick walls in the living room and one of the kids bedroom. Also we liked the little interior garden that add to the feeling of relaxation and being away, providing a peaceful retreat after a long day exploring the nooks and crannies of beautiful Barcelona. Unbeatable location where to experience the wonderful feeling of living in a quaint neighbourhood with exemplary bakeries, cafes, florists, quality restaurants, sunny terraces and fresh produce shops along with a lovely park and main tourist amenities at your doorstep like Picasso Museum and Palau de la Musica. Horacio the owner was also friendly and accommodating, providing us with fruit and a bottle of wine when we arrived, and eager to recommend several cool places to go, and some nice tapas restaurants like Bar Pinotxo in La Boqueria, a truly Spanish experience, he went above and beyond as hosts go, to make sure nothing was missing.
This spotless, well appointed apartment was worth every euro and great value for a family or a group of friends. Also, hop on/hop off bus stop within steps of the apartment, just at the entrance of Ciudadela park where we enjoy strolls and went to the zoo with our children. We would love to return and would definitely stay there again.

Three couples stayed in this unit. It was perfect for us. Located in the Born3 near everything. Small, clean unit. Too many places to eat close to numerate. Walked everywhere. Be aware the apartment rear faces an active night life street. Ear plugs or fan is needed to mute the noise.
All three couples would stay there again. Thats our highest recommendation. Horacio organized our transportation from the airport to the apartment and the apartment to the ship. Everything was flawless. -

This was the 6th year we have brought our staff to barcelona for our christmas party but the first time we have stayed in these apartments. When we walked through the door we were certainly not disappointed, the pictues and description when booking looked great and it is great when you get there, sometimes walls can be thin and you hear alot of noise from other rooms or apartments but not here. The location is fantastic just round the corner from passage del borne with plenty of great restaurants and bars. Pia who met us was very helpful and gave us a warm welcome and recommended several places to go, and we were not dissapointed with her suggestions, the restaurant at the santa catalina market was fantastic. I could not recommend this property enough, we love barcelona as a location and will definately be back and look forward to staying here again

we had a fabulous stay at the good located appartment: nice, comfortable rooms, a little bit noisy at night in some of the rooms due to nearby bars, but nice all the same, just bring some ear plugs. Anyway, you won't go to bed early in a town like this: too much to see and explore. Very nice restaurants and bars just a stone's throw away. Would go back, definitely!

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Stayed 3 nights with my wife and 5 kids (aged 11 to 17. The Born area of Barcelon is fantastic. Away from the touristy Ramblas with more of a village feel within the city. The apartment was exactly as described and the location superb. 10 minutes from La Rambla, 10 minutes from the beach and close to markets and some fantastic tapas bars and restaurants. The accomodation was very clean and spacious with lots of amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, satelite TV and DVD player etc. Horacio, the owner, could not have been more pleasant and helpful. He took us on a mini tour of the area for about 20 minutes (we actually cut it short) pointing out bars and retaurants and the way to certain attractions in the city. The two restaurants he recommended we visited and had fantastic meals. In fact when we came back to Barcelona (4 weeks later at the end of our holiday in Spain) for an overnight stay prior to an early morning flight we went back to one of the restaurants, it was that good! I would highly recommend the apartment for groups of friends or larger families. In fact my wife and 4 friends are staying there next March!
