Paseo de Gracia era la arteria principal de aquel nuevo Eixample (Ensanche) que nacía a partir de 1860, cuando se derribaron las murallas que ahogaban la antigua Barcelona. Siguiendo el plan Cerdà, el barrio se construyó con el dinero de las familias acomodadas de Barcelona. As a family of 5 (3 girls 16, 13 and 10), renting an apartment was a better option (both in space and financially) than considering two hotel rooms. And we found an excellent and highly recommendable place in the apartments managed by Esther and Celia.
While we had originally thought to be closer to major sites (Sagrada Familia, las Ramblas...), Esther recommended Spacious Eixample and it turned out to be a great choice. Plenty of room (rooms are small but you're essentially needing them only to sleep...), each girl had their own room (important for teenagers, but hardly possible most of the time on vacation), two bathrooms (a huge comfort when traveling with 3 girls...!), and ultimately a very nice location, calm, safe, close to the metro. One got the feeling of having their own "place" in Barcelona amongst the population, and not being a tourist in touristy areas.
And the help and advice given by Esther and Celia are also worth alot. Not content to just leave the keys and move on, they provided restaurant suggestions, emailed us later with other instructions and globally were attentive much beyond the normal call of duty. Again one was left with the impression that we weren't just there to fill a quota or make them money.
The apartment itself could use abit of work but its minor enough to not go into any detail here. The apartments are in good condition, clean and well equipped. We didn't even have to clean it from head to toe upon leaving. A nice comfort.
Another plus : the service (for a fee) airport shuttle, meeting you at the airport and taking you direct to your apartment. A touch more than a normal taxi, but you're sure to get there and isn't alittle personal touch worth it on vacation ?
All in all, while we more or less stumbled across Esther and Celia, using Tripadvisor, I now keep them in my address book for the next vacation in Barcelona. 5 star service I highly recommend.

This really is a 4 bedroom, 2 full bathroom apartment, with several additional sleeping areas if you have a large group. 4 of us stayed here comfortably in august, and enjoyed relaxing there in between exploring beautiful Barcelona. It is a block from the Metro, and there are tons of local places to eat should you want to stay in the neighborhood, although we also enjoyed some nice meals in the apartment itself. The apartment has everything you need, and everything worked.
The location is a great alternative to the more crowded and expensive touristy parts of Barcelona, but the popular destinations are no more than 3-4 Metro stops away, or at most a 25-30 minute walk -many are closer than that. We recommend it. -

I'm from Lyon. I spent 4 days in this apartment. It was very nice! Everything was new and very nice location also. I hope come back to Barcelona and I hope come back again to the apartment!! Thank you Esther for your indications about the city!!

I can very much recommend this apartment to others.
Beautiful, large new-renovated apartment in a quiet location, near from Metro.
Several bars, restaurants and shops in the neighborhood.
The housekeepers were nice & friendly, and gave me all the information I needed for our stay.
