Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is known for its expanse of beaches , as well as its numerous bars and seafood restaurants . You will find the town close to the famous Barcelona port, near to some great museums, and within a short walking distance or a quick metro ride from all of the top spots for sightseeing in the city. La Barceloneta was originally constructed for the residents of La Ribera, who were displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella fortress built by King Felipe V in the 18th Century. Since then, with the development of Port Vell and Port Olímpic, the area has become a major attraction for tourists and residents. Nearby is the Barcelona aquarium and IMAX theatre, a large shopping center called Maremagnum, and a number of nightclubs, although the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet. If you walk down Passeig de Colom from Barceloneta, you will soon find yourself at Las Ramblas . Plenty of the beach apartments in Barcelona are located in this area, making it an ideal choice for a spring or summer vacation.

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
It was really good, the apartment was very close to the beach and was well equipped with everything needed to cook. There were some spices and sugar, detergents, soaps and shampoos. There are several small and large business around and a food hall. The hostess was very nice and helpful.
