Additional Location Information
As the focus of the recent city renewal program in Barcelona, El Raval is quickly becoming the place to be for the latest trends, hippest art scene, and chicest night life. Since the 1980s, the Barcelona city planning commission has revamped the area, which is now home to the Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum (MACBA) and the Center of Contemporary Culture in Barcelona (CCCB), located in the Plaça dels Àngels. This area is the up-and-coming place for young artists and students, and with the majority of inhabitants under 35 years of age, it has become the premier location for the best art galleries, music stores, stylish boutiques, cafés, bars, and clubs. There is also a growing international group in the neighborhood, and it is home to Barcelona's own China Town. The area is rich with Barcelona history and architecture. The Monastery of Sant Pau del Camp is located in the neighborhood's center, as well as the unfinished Església de Sant Augustí. There are two major markets in the area, the first being the Mercat de Sant Antoni, where on Sundays you can find a rare collection of old books, coins, records, stamps, and more. The other is the world-renowned La Boqueria Market , where you can buy some of the freshest goods on the Mediterranean coast. While staying here, you could even use the kitchen in your Barcelona apartment to try out some new Spanish recipes with delicious ingredients plucked straight from the market.

Dublin, IrelandFabulous apartment
Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This is a fabulous apartment in a great location. The apartment has everything you need, with a two minute walk to Las Rambla. Mauricio the owner was so nice and welcoming. He sat down with us when we got there and drawed a map of the local area and nice places to eat and see. This map turned ut to be our bible for the first day. I would highly recommend staying in this apartment as it is great value. The only tip I would give is to bring a hair dryer as the one there is fine but not very powerful.

This apartment was like a home away from home. It was spacious, clean, had all amenities required and was quiet whilst not too far from the action. Mauricio was an outstanding host. He spent time telling us about the area, drew us a map with places of interest and made excellent restaurant recommendations. For the price I doubt that you could do any better than Barbera 1.

A simple yet comfortable apartment, right in the city centre, 100 meters from the Ramblas. The apartment is well equipped, bus doe not have a tv-set. That should not be a problem though when staying in the heart of Barcelona. If you want to cook, no problem: everything you need is there. Supermarket within a 2 minutes walk.
Does not have a separate bedrooom however, making it less suitable if you want to stay with young children.
Checking in en out went very smooth.
