The gothic quarter is a beautiful neighbourhood, so called as it used to be the Roman village, old remnants of it are still to be found. There is a mix of ancient and modern in this district, due to constant modernisation; but this also means that it attracts a wide variety of people making it a vibrant and lively place to be.
Adding to this area's charm are the narrow and winding streets which can give you a feeling of being in an old-city maze. There are also many peaceful squares (plazas) where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings.
