The Area surrounding the Apartment;

This wonderful, luxury apartment is in the heart of the cith, almost on Paseo de Gracia, one of Barcelona's grander avenue-like streets, that starts at Plaza Cataluña and continues till it meets with la Diagonal.

This location will allow the guest to step out of the apartment building onto Plaza Cataluña; off of this Pl...aza the guest will find Las Ramblas, with all the colourful street performes and the wonderful Boqueria market, an absolute must for any visitor to Barcelona...

From the apartment a short 5 minute walk will have you in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and el Born; this very trendy area is one of Barcelona's oldest neighbourhoods. An intricate maze of plaças and squares all interconnected by narrow, medieval streets where you will find lots of trendy boutiques and great bars, cafés and restaurants. This is the area that fell within the medieval walls and, until 150 years ago, made up the entire city of Barcelona.

With bars, clubs and hundreds of restaurants right on the doorstep of the apartment, you do not need to go far to enjoy all that the old town of Barcelona has to offer.

The Apartment;

This really is a fantastic apartment; with unbeatable location, high standard and quality, this is a fantastic choice while visiting Barcelona... this apartment faces to the back of the building so for it's central location it is a very quiet apartment!!

The Plaza Cataluña apartment has one master bedroom with two single beds that can be pushed together as a double and has ample wardrobe space for the guests' belongings... the third and fourth guests make use of the sofa bed in the living room ...

The bathroom is luxurious in look and style, completed in white marble, with fresh towels ready for use upon arrival... the bathroom is complete with bath/shower unit, WC, sink, etc., ...

The living room of this fantastic apartment has french doors which open up onto the small balcony/terrace, here you will find a table and some chairs so the guests can enjoy the wonderufl weather that Barcelona enjoys for much of the year; this allows for lots of natural light in the apartment making it a great area to relax and unwind after a hard day of sightseeing or shopping! before heading out to enjoy all this great city has on offer..... this sofa is also a sofa bed where two guests can sleep comfortably ...... the apartment comes with air conditioning and heating so guests are comfortable no matter what time of the year they are visiting this great city!!!

  Wow!! This was my first ever experience of apartment/vacation rental.
  
  I found the apartment via an internet search and at the suggestion of a friend who would be staying there at the same time. I had some reservations about this arrangement, but decided to give it a try. I am thrilled that I did.
  
  This apartment is ideally located within a block of the Placa Catalunya. It is managed by Friendly Rentals. These two items factor in to it being a perfect place to "hang one's hat" for 3 days or 3 weeks.
  
  Friendly Rentals did a super job of managing this property. It was clean, completely functional and completely "as advertised". The only downside to their management style is they sometimes fail in "completely" responding to inquiries.
  
  I was able to determine by looking at the website that the apartment would be occupied up to the day of my arrival, therefore preventing an early admission to the apartment. But, apparently the management staff is quite amenable to early arrivals "if possible".
  
  After a deposit upon booking, I was required to pay the balance, in cash (Euro), upon arrival plus a cleaning fee. I was also required to provide a credit card for the damage deposit. The damage deposit would be "held" against the card, but would be released within 7 days or so after surrendering the apartment in good condition. Although I had some trepidation about this arrangement . . . there was no problem.
  
  The only downside to Friendly Rentals management is that other than giving me the keys to the apartment, no other instructions as to entry, appliance usage, etc., were given. This was a bit disconcerting, especially for this american unfamiliar with European styles, fixtures, etc. A quick walk through of the apartment with a member of the staff would have been greatly appreciated.
  
  The apartment itself was clean, modern and quite spacious. Although a single traveler, there would certainly would have been room for a partner and even a 3rd adult or a couple of children. Completely furnished, with linens, dishes, etc., it was also well equipped with necessary appliances (stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, etc.). The bath was spacious and completely functional.
  
  It was so very enjoyable to come back from a day our touring, clean up, head out on the terrace and enjoy a bottle of wine with friends.
  
  If you have a chance to rent this apartment (or others through Friendly Rentals), I would highly recommend that you do so. As I said in the title to this review they "So much more than exceeded my expectations.

  We stayed 9 nights in the Plaza Cataluna III apartment in Oct., 2011. Great location by Placa Catalunya; right across the street from the El Cortes Ingles Department store. The unit was clean & comfortable; washer/dryer was a plus.
