On the beachfront, the Port Olimpic is a lively area with a wide range of restaurants, terraces and bars where you can sample traditional Spanish seafood dishes or have a late-night drink and enjoy the great views; during the day it is possible to rent a boat from the marina. The modern Arts Hotel tower and the imposing Fish sculpture from Frank Gehry bestow an elegant and cutting-edge atmosphere to the area.
Just a pleasant walk away you will find the emblematic Parque de la Ciudadela, complete with boating lake, monumental fountains and hundreds of palm trees, offering a shady location for a summer-time picnic. The park is also home to Barcelona zoo, a great place to enjoy the day with children of all ages. El Borne, the historic Barrio Gótico and the Ramblas are ten/fifteen minutes away. If you want to wander further out, there is a a metro station across the street – line 4.
