A journey to ancient times with the modern conveniences, the Plaza Real one bedroom apartment is bright and colourful with an unmistakable Mediterranean atmosphere. It has been refurbished preserving its traditional Catalan vault ceilings, it also has wooden frame doors and windows. Windows which face a bohemian and romantic medieval street.

The living room is furbished with a sofa bed, a coffee table, a flat screen television and a dinin...g table. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare your own meals. A sliding door opens up to a pure white bedroom fitted out with an inviting double bed, a night table, a reading lamp and a tall wardrobe. The bathroom, dainty and funky, is covered in minty green mosaic tiles.

This cheerful apartment can house three guests, it's on the fifth floor and it has an elevator, a luxury in this part of town.

The Plaza Real is a handsome palm-shaded square with an unmistakable Mediterranean character. It's purity of line contrasts dramatically with the intricate maze of narrow alleyways that you find in the Gothic city. By the fountain, on the centre of the square, is one of Gaudi's earliest works: a lamp post with a dragon's head – already showing the allegoric monsters that were to parade all through his life work.

Lively, surrounded by outdoor cafés and bars, the Plaza Real is romantic and decadent with beautiful and mysterious passageways, including the Passatge Bacardi, which connects the Plaza Real with Las Ramblas. This unique passageway with a mirrored gallery was the first covered colonnade in the city and an important commercial point in the XIX century.

The apartment, strategically located in the heart of the old city, has easy access to Barcelona's main attractions like the famous Las Ramblas energetic and picturesque boulevard, the Barrio Gótico with its more than two thousand years history and the Barceloneta Harbour. For further expeditions you are just a step away from the Liceu metro station.
