The cottage was hard to find due to vague instructions but well equipped and full of character. It was however slightly dirty and musty( lounge and sunroom)
The description of Baslow was inaccurate as it is actually spread over three areas. The part where the cottage is basically a pub a restaurant and a corner shop that doesn't sell anything! So go well stocked with supplies!
However its a great location for walking and on the doorstep of Chatsworth estate and short drive to Bakewell and Buxton.

Ours was a family group with grown up daughter, sister in law, friend and two well behaved and old dogs. The cottage suited us very well being located close to Chatsworth and the village facilities of Baslow.
A lovely location but dark inside and small cottage

Superb location, Great for small groups in summer who love cute cottages and are not worried about drying lots of walking gear out! But was difficult to squeeze into the small downstairs space - glad there were only actually 4 of us staying in the end. Accomodation is dark due to lovely overhanging trees plus buildings. Also a bit too much clutter so difficult to find space for our food in kitchen and makes it seem even darker. Partly a personal taste issue i realise as very cute.Far too many tea services taking up precious space in tiny dining room and on kitchen shelves. Lovely comfortable beds and clean except for the kitchen as the last people had not even emptied crumbs out of bread box, fridge had not been wiped out and the outsized range cooker needed serious de-grunging. An 'idiot's guide' to the cooker would help as we struggled to work it out too.
