Glenda is not only bright, interesting and helpful, but also gluten free herself and generous! She served us a breakfast that weighed the table down and for me, gluten free and dairy free, while yummy for the "normal" eaters as well. I was in heaven. While not luxurious, the rooms are clean, fresh and comfortable with nice private bathrooms. The house is cozy and cheerful, in a bucolic setting you never want to leave (once you find it! use your navigation app for initial trip, after that you're fine). Nearby is the village of Pontorson and Glenda recommended a reasonably priced, family owned, amazingly delicious restaurant. She (and Steve) are involved locally and interested in reactions to Mt St Michel's parking lot renovation and new access. Engage this lovely couple in conversation over breakfast, you won't want to leave!

We stopped off with our three and five year old children at Le petite Chesnee on our way to Cherbourg to catch the ferry to Poole. This is a really beautiful place and we were lucky to have found it - great for a stop off or for exploring the coast, and only an hour and a half from the ferry. Glenda and Steve were really lovely hosts and the room was comfortable and peaceful with a nice double, bunks for the kids and some great countryside views. We have great memories of playing badminton on the lawn as the sun went down, and we only wished that we could have stayed longer... Highly recommended!

What a delightful place for a peaceful night's sleep. The B&B; is a bit outside of town but well worth the drive. The bedrooms and baths were private and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a feast and we regretted not having time to stay more than one night. The couple running the B&B; made us feel very welcome and even took the child in our group out to see the pony. I would highly recommend this B&B;.

I can't add anything more to what's already been said in other reviews other than to say that I agree with it all. This wasn't the fanciest of places, but of all of the places that we stayed in France, we felt the most comfortable and at home here.

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Although this ancient farmhouse looks a bit weatherbeaten on the outside, it is quite modern and up to date on the inside. This is a working farm, complete with sheep, geese, wheat fields, fruit trees and berry vines - a lovely and relaxing environment. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful, very friendly and helpful, and Glenda regaled us with with delightful stories about the local culture, as well as her world travels (Glenda, you should write a book!!!). The house is a very short drive to Mont St. Michel (best visited, IMO, in the evening). The cost was by far the most reasonable we encountered in all of France. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Highly recommended!!!

A nice little B&B; with kindest English landlords. Superb breakfast and nice garden surrounded by French countryside. 20 minutes by car from top-attraction: Saint Mount Michel and 10 minutes to town with restaurents. Basic rooms (no tub, no tv) but very clean. Highly recommended for people who don't want to pay the high tourist-prices in Saint Mount Michel. Very good value for money.

When selecting our accommodation we had lucky hand. Already welcome was great, when the house came out smiling Glenda. Rich and delicious breakfast were always in a very friendly and communicative atmosphere and international cast. The only thing I regret that I did not have at least once for breakfast a home eggs. Beautiful bed linen, fluffy towels, a large wardrobe, rose in a vase, tea and coffee available all day and optimism Glenda and Steve completed our picture of Brittany. I was in love with Brittany and I hope to return there again.

So many good things to say about La Petite Chesnee and Glenda and Steve that it's difficult to know where to start!
A lovely friendly welcome, a beautifully converted and presented, spotlessly clean farmhouse in lovely gardens (despite the drought). An enormous, delicious breakfast with eggs from Glenda's own hens. The situation is quite stunning too with magnificent views.
This was our fist visit but we're already talking about our next trip to France and planning it around a stay at La Petite Chesnee.
Thank you Glenda and Steve for making us feel so at home. From Lesley & Paul, Jason & Teresa, Richard & Stacey, Helen & Clive. -

Just a short car journey from restaurants, shopping and Le Mont St. Michel, but completely separate from the tourist crowds out in the French countryside. Our room in the beautiful, restored farmhouse was comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and the hosts ... what can I say? Glenda and Steve are warm, friendly, generous and helpful. Our first stay will probably not be our last.

Our trip to France was defined by many experiences, my favorite was staying here while visiting the Normandy area. Glenda and Steve really do go out of their way to make you feel at home. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast is perfect, and the company is amazing. We felt from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left that we were staying with old friends. If you stay here, please take the owners recommendations. They knew all the best shortcuts, the best food, and what tourists sites are worth the time.

A very nice B&B; which I would highly recommend. Extremely hospitable and pleasant owners, nice and impeccably clean newly refurbished rooms, plentiful and delicious breakfast, convenient and easy-to-find location some 15-minute ride from Mont-Saint-Michel. The nearby town has some very decent restarants, and there is a cool weekend market some 30 km away (ask the owners for directions).

Beautiful grounds and surrounding countryside, extremely clean and comfortable ammenities, delicious breakfast plus unlimited tea/coffee in room. Glenda and Steve treated me like a family member or old friend. Would recommend this place to a wide range of indiviudals, from solo traveleres, to honeymooners to groups of friends.Gave location 4 stars only bc I would recommend having a car to get there (but I managed to get there without one from train station). Also if visiting Mont St Michel ask Glenda for easy (flat) bike route.

We stayed at Glenda's house during our trip to Mont St Michel. We were cheerfully greeted by Glenda and her husband upon our arrival at night. It is slightly deep in the countryside, but that is exactly what we wanted, which is the experience to stay at a lovely farm house in France. This B&B; is beautifully decorated, clean, and well kept. The room where we stayed was very comfortable and cozy. We truly enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts as well as the beautiful surroundings, the quietness and the wonderful breakfast in the morning.
Thank you so much Glenda! -
