Oxford, UKCan we stay forever?
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband and I were lucky enough to find this gem and just stayed here for a too short vacation. Today is our last day, and we are having a hard time to just to think about it, that we have to leave again tomorrow. It lived up to everything that was mentioned in the description and more. It was clean, beautifully and artistically furnished and decorated, and totally comfortable. I can honestly say there was nothing left out that a person might need for a couple week's stay in paradise. Claudia, Ernest and their wonderful staff were so accomodating and friendly, which just made the visit that much more enjoyable. I would recommend this venue to anyone without any reservations. We will be back next year!
The best tip we can give? Book well ahead!! -

Fayetteville, GeorgiaBest Place to Stay on St. Kitts and it's very affordable!

This is the perfect place to stay. It's practically perfect with a beautiful view and helpful staff. Staying here you get the flavor of the lovely island of St Kitts. There is a restaurant on the premises as well as several good restaurants within walking distance. I had stayed at the Marriott on a previous trip and although the Marriott was nice, it doesn't hold a candle to the Palm Court Garden Cottage.

Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed at Palm Court Gardens for 2 weeks. Daily, we woke at sunrise to the spectacular view of sailboats anchored in the Basseterre harbour. The east facing balcony provided for a beautiful sunrise over peninsula, with the harbour in the foreground. The balcony is partially shaded during the morning by a palm tree and fully shaded with a breeze during the late day heat. As a writer and lover of the outdoors, the balcony was the perfect setting and inspired me to write while there.
During our stay, we rented bicycles. They were our only form of transportation and provided for excursions to various beaches, towns and historical sites on St. Kitts. Twice we also ventured to Nevis via the ferry. There was no extra cost or inconvenience for taking the bicycles. Both islands were good for cycling with gentle terrain around their perimeters. The mainly English speaking residents were very friendly with greetings while passing on the street and helpful providing directions.
Palm Court Gardens staff members were friendly, courteous and helpful. The gardens and pool were beautiful, and the pool particular welcoming after a day out and about.
The apartment is well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Local grocery stores, produce market and other shops were within walking distance.

We like everything about Palms Court Gardens.
The "cottage" is a self-contained flat on the first floor of a Swiss-chalet type building, with a large terrace in front overlooking the swimming-pool area, Basseterre and Nevis in the background.
The gardens and swimming-pool are open to the public but this does not cause any nuisance at all, on the contrary it brings some animation
and anyway the place was just for ourselves before 9 a.m. and after
5 p.m.
The location is good. You can walk into town or to nearby restaurants, but a car is recommended if you want to explore the island and discover the sand beaches which are on the other side of town.
We rented a car for two days and relaxed on the property for the other two days. It is really paradisiac !
What did we like least ? The wind, which cooled the air, but we would
have preferred to feel warmer on St.Kitts in January. -

Where should I begin! The excellent location, the romantic apartment and beautiful gardens, the small empty beach 2mins walk and also close enough to amenities so as not to make visits to the supermarket etc a hassle. We arrived thinking we would need to hire a car, but access to local buses was a short walk away, making moving around the island a pleasurable experience, the local people were helpful and friendly and would probably not have been encountered had we not been using the local transport system, which is very cheap and frequent. There are no bus schedules, you just go and take the next one.
On arrival at the house we were met by the very friendly staff who showed us around and how everything worked, our holiday went without any hitches what so ever. We also quite enjoyed the people who came visiting the gardens and pool during the day. They brought such a happy vibe to the property and didn't bother us at all. If we wanted privacy, we got plenty of that in our apartment or balcony on the second floor. We will definitely be returning to Palms Court Gardens where we left part of our hearts!!! -

We have been visiting St. Kitts for 15 years now. After staying at a wonderful hotel for 14 of those years, we have found Palms Court Gardens cottage to be the perfect vacation "home". This should give you a hint as to how we feel about this place and its owners. The amenities of the apartment are numerous. For example, having a washer and dryer is great and cuts down on the amount of clothing you must pack. The property is immaculate and perfectly maintained, the apartment the most gorgeous I have ever seen, and Claudia, Ernest and their staff are so very accommodating. We love the privacy upstairs in the apartment with the beautiful view of the sea, but it is also nice to have the company of other people at the pool, and the garden visitors didn't bother us in the least. I can't say enough about the location and views, just perfect! We are definitely looking forward to our return to this lovely vacation retreat next year!
