There is a 16' x 40' Private coverd rear Deck with a Private 6 Person HOT TUB just outside your sliding glass doors with blinds built in the glass, Deck has 3 ceiling fans if needed we usually have a nice River Breeze yo...u just sit back & look 1/4mi. straight up the river, Has a 8' x 8' Sun Deck for soaking up the Sun or just use the RAFT we tie off to both sides of the River has been a Favorite for many your own Little Water Park or the Sandy Beach just 10' below your Deck at the River edge.

At the River edge there is a spot for a small Bon Fire ask about details. There is Wi/Fi for those who would like to use it at NO CHARGE. If you just need a ROMANTIC GETAWAY, we have the place for you. The Queen size bed features a new Tempur Pedic mattress, in the Livingroom Has Leather couch you sit back and relax or watch a new 32" HD VIZIO FLAT SCREEN TV, DVD with

( Direct TV with NFL Sunday Ticket to watch any game on) or if you feel the need for some exercise after sitting on the rear Deck having Lunch or Dinner on the BISTRO TABLE on the rear Deck. We have a New BOW FLEX GYM, Dumb Bells, & Ankle Weights. ( No Swimming with Weights Ha,Ha )

Just steps down to the River makes for a good time for swimming or fishing or Rock Hopping. The Kids love doing Rock Art on the large river boulders.

Trout fishing is a lot of fun with a River Stocking once a week only 1/8th mi. Upstream & 1/10th mi. Downstream you are sure to enjoy throwing your line out to see what you pull in. Sit and relax by reading a book or just sit on the rear Deck and watch the Wildlife we have BATS the Real Bat Cave is only 1/2 mi. down the road Otter, Mink, Muskrat, Herring, Ducks, White Squrril, Humming Birds along with a variety of of other Birds.

At Night we have 2 sets of FLOOD LIGHTS extended out to shine on the River cant have

FULL MOONS all the time ( Illegal to Fish at Night ) We are in a small town of about 500 people

NO RED LIGHTS & Few STOP Signs Laid Back & we love it!

But we are like Route 66 this was the only road between Charlotte & Asheville till they brought the Interstate Highways in it was the old Traders Route for Indians & Wagon Trains & Pony Express Mail

there is so much History in the area only thing changed Pavement & 2 Lane Roads, 4 lane is 12 mi. away.

We are set in the middle of the Western NC. Mountains with so much surrounding us in all directions.

Beautiful Lakes in the US. by National Geographic Magazine, 12mi. Historic Hendersonville,

The area is Great for Motorcycles curvy up & down Mountain roads we both ride Hondas we circled the US. & BC. in 1999 took 3 months & 28,000 miles.   This was our second stay at the Bat Cave River Cottages, and I opted for the one bedroom unit because it was only my daughter and myself. The cottage is well-appointed and just right for 2 people, probably no more. We didn't spend too much time in the area, due to my son's graduation from Unca, but the owners of Bat Cave River Cottages are always very nice and accommodating. The back porch overlooking the river is serene and the hot tub is well-maintained and a nice touch. One small caution...there is no stove. There is a two burner cooktop...and if you are planning to cook anything lavish, you might need to reconsider.

  River cottage & Fishing getaway.

  First time I have ever booked a stay online and found it to be more then advertised. This little cottage is so well cared for, by the owners and the vacationers. Simply a happy place, inside and out. Minutes from Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Ingles grocery store and yet, once you leave you car and go down the steps, you are taken to a world of your own. The river world, with the sites, sounds, fishing, floating and more. Lizards, ducks and bats to entertain you.
  
  The deck and hot tub are so private, with comfortable seating and a really nice gas grill. The kitchen is so well equipped, that you never miss that there is no stove. Such detail went into the construction, that you are amazed by the beautiful faucets, ample lighting, and tons of outlets for your electronic devices.
  
  I can't think of a thing this little piece of paradise needed. The owners are available, but if you don't need them, you don't even know they are there. And if you call on them, you are greeted with kindness. Good people they are and they make you feel at ease.
  
  I can't wait to go again.

  We enjoyed staying in this newly remodeled rental which is right on the river. With a beautiful view and high end appliances, we could not have been happier. The fire place was such a nice touch. This cottage was quiet, peaceful, and conveniently located right down the road [within walking distance] from all the restaurants, shops and Chimney Rock State Park. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while listening to the river flow. We will definitely stay here again!

  A great place to stay, right on the river!

  This one bedroom cottage is just a perfect place to stay, in the heart of the mountains. Close to anything you want to do. Need to relax? A hot tub on a large deck, with dining table, comfortable chairs and gas grill, right on the river.
  The cottage is very comfortable and the owners are awesome! If you arrive on a bike, ( of the motorized variety) to ride through the mountains, just let them know and they'll ride with you. What a great time we had! Will definitely make a trip back there. They are just wonderful people who want you to enjoy your stay.

  They were great they wanted to ride some curve's and already had the roads mapped they wanted to ride. We had already been on half of them and knew how to get them there. We rode up in to the TN. mountains went from Spring to Winter with ice on the mountain sides back to spring at the cabins. We had a great time hitting more curves and up hill and down hill in any one day ride we have ever been on but it was a BLAST! Have made friends for life and will see them again for sure.

  My children and I stayed fron Sunday until Friday tucked safely away in Bruce and Marion's peace of heaven on earth. My son enjoyed fishing and searching for crawfish and other wildlife in the river. My daughter split her time between the hot tub and the raft in the river. I spent my time reading and napping on the huge deck and only went inside to sleep at night. The kids rarely wanted to leave to go anywhere, preferring to stay put and none of us were ready to depart on Friday. The owners are treasures that truly try to make your visit all it can be. Bruce took up a lot of time making sure the kids were entertained. We could not have asked for more. Wonderful people and a wonderful place!
