Cheltenham, United KingdomA hidden gem with everything to make our stay the best!
Left on 03/16/2013 for a stay in March 2013
we were a large group of 20 girls staying at purbeck lodges for a hen weekend and were not disappointed! The owner Chris was great from the word go and very accomodating with information about the local area and recommending taxis etc into Bath. As such a large group we were able to have exclusive use of all the facilities which was amazing and even for a cold and miserable weekend in March the hot tubs and pool were great! Each lodge was very well equipped and met our every need. Thank you so much. The hen loved it! Will definitely ne recommending to others!

Bridport, DorsetFab base for family, friends, groups... Lovely attentive owner.
Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in October 2012
We were a medium size hen group (well behaved hens of all ages) and found this a peaceful base to stay and not too far from Bath city (by car).
The lodges were well equipt, they were clean & comfortable. The owner was very helpful and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed the hottub even on a particularly cold night. It is such a nice area and the lodges would be ideal for families too as there is a lovely play area for children. The bedrooms were nice and comfy. However I was one of two of us who shared the sofa bed and we did feel this could be updated/renewed as the middle was very sunken and our backs noticed it! However that said, you can't expect a sofa bed to be as comfy as a bed and it has not stopped us from booking to go again in 2013. Other than that we wouldn't change a thing and would like to thank the owner once again for a lovely stay. Highy recommend!!! -

Had a lovely time, booked weekend here for hen party, was great place to stay, staff were very friendly and accommodating, would definitely go back and suggest it to others. Even though it was quite close to home it was relaxing and very enjoyable., and felt like we were further away. Loved the hot tub the most.

fantastic location in beautiful countryside with everything provided that one could need. excellent service from the minute we arrived until the minute we left including allowing the use of landline to phone other lost members of our group as no mobile signal. this fantastic service continued throughout our stay even when i locked my keys in the car, pliers and assisted were provided as was a sense of humour and a "no problem" attitude. i would highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a relaxing time with home from home accommodation.

I stayed here with my wife and 2 children aged 3 and 1. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the perfect decision. Chris met us and gave us a tour of the property and amenities and the excellent service by Chris and the rest of the staff continued throughout our stay. The lodge itself was superb and was fully equiped with everything you would need and more. The heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, games room and playpark entertained both the kids and my wife and I. There is also so much to do in the area which only enhances the location of Purbeck Holiday Lets. I cant recommend Purbeck Holiday Lets enough and cant wait to return. We were gutted to be leaving and that was after being there 5 days. No matter your age Purbeck is the place for you. Amazing place and so glad we have found it.

Chorley, LancsNo Regrets about Going Here
Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We were slightly slow to book at Purbeck Holiday Lets as the price of the up to 6-bed lodges (Kingfisher and Woodpecker) was slightly beyond what we budgeted for the duration. However, it goes without saying for accomodation of this type that value is achieved when the lodges are used to their full capacity which in our case it wasn't. Having said all that, I am so pleased we booked here!
The accomodation and site is exactly as presented on the website - in fact the website probably under-sells it a little. The beds are very comfy, decent shower, well featured kitchen, hot tub directly outside (shared with opposite apartment) and a veranda overlooking a small stream with tables and chairs. The site boasts wi-fi facilities, heated swimming pool, games room with Dvd's, board games, table football, Wii, childrens playground, large trampoline.
The site is so relaxing and well featured that really we could have happily stayed on site all week without needing to venture anywhere else. However due to the close promixity to Bath, Wells etc, it seemed a shame not to visit the local attractions.
My daughter loved waking up in the morning to look out of her bedroom window and see the park directly outside whilst if you are in the other lodge, you get to see the swimming pool and patio area. Everything is very close-knit and easy to access.
It is really hard to find anything negative to say. I suppose some more nervous drivers would not be overly keen on the drive to the local Co-op / Tesco express which involves a very narrow road (I ended up having to reverse back due to meeting an oncoming car a couple of times!!)
Overall, we had a most relaxing and enjoyable time at Purbeck and would have no hesitation in returning again at some point in the future. -

As a family of 4 (both kids under the age of 10) we were absolutely delighted with our stay at Purbeck. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the accommodation was excellent (clean and very nicely furnished with some lovely touches) and the facilities were great. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the West Country, with Bath, Wells, Longleat, Wookey Hole etc all within easy distance. Just a top holiday and somewhere that I would have absolutely no reservations about recommending. Just outstanding.

Having just returned from my stay at the lodges I had to recommend it straight away. Us 10 girls have just stayed here for my Sister's Hen party and we all absolutely loved it! The owners were helpful right from day one of taking an interest in booking through to the end.
The facilities were clean, very well equiped and well thought through. We shall all be returning at somepoint no doubt.
The location is nice as it's just outside Bath and the taxi service into town was quick and not too expensive.
Perfect weekend! -

Wanstead, LondonGreat family accommodation!
Left on 08/04/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Fantastic accommodation that suited the needs of our family - that included 2 small children (age 2&4yrs) and my husbands parents who were on holiday from abroad.
The lodge is conveniently situated near some outstanding sightseeing spots. Namely Bath (15min drive), Wookie Hole (approx. 30min) and Cheddar Gorge (around 40min). There is plenty more to see and do however these are the spots we visited.
The accommodation itself is nicely laid out and was both clean and very comfortable. We made use of the sleeper couch, which was a great size. Everything we could have needed was there. Although there isn't a washing machine in the lodge, there are washing machines and dryers available to use in the laundry room, which is literally a stones throw away from the front door.
The "thoughtful extras" were a welcome and appreciated addition. For example the playroom had two ride on electric scooters which my 2yr old daughter and 4yr old son loved!! There were also books, games, Dvd's, Nintendo .. and more ... available for all to use.
The outdoor play area was also well used on our visit as was the heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and the gas BBQ which was situated just outside the front of the lodge.
Lastly and possibly most importantly Chris (the owner) was a very thoughtful and attentive host! Nothing was too much effort and I could whole heartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a brilliant, family friendly, self catering holiday let in Somerset! -

BrightonOur perfect UK family holiday
Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our stay at Purbeck was by far the best UK family holiday we have experienced. The standard of the accomodation and hospitality we received exceeded our expectations in every way. Cleanliness, decor and comfort were all to the highest standard. Every little detail had been thought of, and Chris let us know just to ask for anything else we needed - but there was nothing they hadn't thought of.
We have a family that includes teenagers and toddlers, and unusally, this catered for everyone, with the games room, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and baby equipment and bikes. Even though the July weather was typically British, the covered heated pool, hot tub and indoor games room with table football and wii kept the kids happy despite the torrential rain. We were staying in the area for a wedding, and as soon as we arrived at Purbeck, the teenages said they wished we didn't have to go to the wedding as they loved the cabin and facilities so much!
My husband loves to cook and we have been disappointed by previous holiday homes with ill-equiped kitchens, but there really is everything you need and more at Purbeck. We will definitely be going back for more, and took a bacth of leaflets to pass on to our family and friends. Would make a great venue for an extended family get-together.
Although it suited us perfectly as a family, it would also suit those without kids. When we were staying the other cabin was occupied by a group of friends without children, and they told us they had a great weekend too.
We have also sometimes been put off staying in holiday lets where the owner lives on site, but Chris and family were so friendly that it was really a pleasure. -

Everything about our stay at Purbeck lodges was fabulous, we were greeted by Chris and he was always on hand if we needed anything, the lodge was very clean, the bedding smelt beautiful, the park and games room kept the teenagers entertained (no time to use the pool I'm afraid but heard it was very warm). Did use the hot tub may times and that was well words cant describe it apart from wow.Superb location we went to Longleat and Cheddar Gorge while there and of course a day shopping in Bath which is beautiful. In fact the whole of our stay was wow would defiantly recommend and defiantly return.

The lodge is really beautiful and very very well equiped. We stayed for 3 nights over the 10/11 New Year. Drank bubbly in the jacuzzi and played Wii sports and darts in the games room. We even had a dunk in the (heated) outside pool on New years day. The location is great for Bath. We would like to give Chris and his family 11 out of 10.
Thanks for a lovely start to the new year. -

Left on 03/13/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Not the usual type of customer, we ended up staying at Purbeck due to a house flood over the New Year holiday.
In the end we spent over 2 months there, and when we had to leave we really did miss it.
The cabin was excellent along with all the facilities we never felt like we were missing anything we didn't have at home.
We swam in the pool, we sat in the hot tub and we watched all the wildlife pass by our windows.
Chris and Pauline couldn't do anymore to have made us feel more welcome.
A beautiful place to stay whether 2 nights or 2 months.
