A beautifully furnished apartment in walking distance of everything in Bath. I cannot image a better place. Last time we enjoyed exploring Bath in the January snow. This time we used it as our base for the final stages of completing the Cotswold Way walk. This is such a comfortable and conveniently located apartment with great amenities. Janet, who greats you, is so friendly and welcoming - a real treasure. I just hope The Gallery is available next time we want to visit.

We stayed for 5 nights and loved every minute. Wonderful location. Walk to everything including grocery. Beautiful rooms and so comfortable, felt like home every time we walked back in the door. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. Elaine and Stan are gracious in every way. I would recommend this to all my friends and relatives.

My sister and sister in law were meeting me in Bath. I had booked the Gallery because of its size (3 bedrooms) and brilliant reviews. I am now going to add to the very positive feedback! The apartment is very clean and extremely well furnished. Nice touch providing breakfast for the first morning. Ideally located just a short walk from shops and numerous eateries. Cannot fault it in any way. A very enjoyable weekend

Beautiful apartment, very well maintained, comfortable. Location is ideal for exploring bath. Try the thermal spa, we did the package that included admission, a treatment and two course dinner - good value and great experience. Great to come back to comfy lounge to sit and chat. Elaine left breakfast for us including home made marmalade- very tasty!! Would return. A very enjoyable weekend despite the weather

I stayed in the Gallery last week and it was divine. I am a very fussy sceptical person and always want the best for my money. Well let me say, The Gallery is superb in all ways. The amenities were excellent, it was like coming home to one's own comfortable home sngle day. I wish I could have stayed more than a week. What can I say about Bath, the most beautiful city in Great Britain.
The thing I liked least about The Gallery was leaving it.

I stayed in this beautiful Georgian apartment with my two friends for three nights and it was perfect. The location is excellent - just 5 minutes stroll to the city centre over Pultney Bridge. The apartment is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you could need for a short stay. The kitchen is well equipped, but as Bath has so many fabulous places to eat we did not make use of the cooking facilities. Elaine and Stan were gracious and helpful hosts who have certainly made The Gallery a first class place to stay in Bath.

Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Staying in the Gallery is a real treat. The flat is on the first floor of a stunning Georgian house, built in 1793, and has a fantastic layout, with high ceilings and big windows, and plenty of space in the two bedrooms, both of which feature lovely views out over Henrietta park. The hosts, Elaine and Stan, have thought of everything and the kitchen especially is well equipped with all the gadgets and cookware you might ever need. And it's a nice touch that you get a welcome basket of yummy breakfast food, including homemade muesli and marmalade. The location is spot-on as well - Great Pultney Street is just across Pultney Bridge, and a bit quieter than central Bath, but just as close to everything, and especially well located for gardens and river walks.
Finally, just a quick note to say that the hosts themselves are excellent - thoughtful and responsive and really give you all the information you need. When we accidentally locked up without retrieving a handbag, they were there within 5 minutes to let us in!

This apartment is in a terrific location in Bath. Great Pulteney Street is a couple of minutes' walk from the heart of Bath's sites (including the Roman Baths and the abbey) and so many excellent restaurants. Grocery, pharmacy, bakeries, and anything else you'd want are all nearby as well. The building the apartment is in was built in 1795 so there's a ton of character, just as with everything else in this part of Bath. The apartment itself is contemporary, elegantly furnished and decorated but very comfortable to live in. The apartment itself is clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Even though it was quite warm and humid outside (27 - 29 degrees), the apartment stayed reasonably cool. There really isn't anything for me to criticize about the Gallery, only positives. We intend to return to Bath and when we do we will definitely stay at the Gallery again.

We go to Bath every year for a few days and this is the most comfortable place that we have every stayed, very elegant and welcoming with comfortable furnishing. We were 2 couples who don't live near each other any more so this allowed us to be 'together' but not on top of each other. The mezzanine with the computer was another good place to sit and read, although the best room has to be the living room with its high ceilings and huge sun filled windows. A definite wow.

On our 3rd visit to Elaine & Stan's dream apartment, we were yet agaibn overwhelmed by the sheer luxury, elegance and comfort it offered. We had a wonderful Christmas in Bath to which not only the festive atmosphere in Bath itself contributes but to an even greater extent the Gally with its beautiful Christmas tree, elegant decorations, beautiful dinner service and other tokens, all in keeping with the style of the Gallery in general.
The apartment exudes elegance but at the same time a cosiness which wraps around one like a warm blanket. Everyday words are totally inadequate to describe the Gallery - we can only say: it is a wonderful experience and one really lives the dream. -

Of all the accommodation we stayed at on our trip to the UK The Gallery was a standout best. The owners, were very helpful and welcoming. The apartment was very well furnished and appointed and spotless, but most of all comfortable. The location is a winner as it is central to the highlights of Bath. Wow, Wow, Wow. Elegant apartment on a glorious street. Felt at home from day one. Excellent facilities. Very warm welcome from the owners and really appreciated the welcome grocery pack on arrival as well as all the toiletries which were provided. Secure parking is provided which in Bath is invaluable. The apartment is only a 5 to 10 minute level walk to the centre. Although so near to the centre it was very peaceful at night and we slept well. This has been our favourite holiday rental and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. We will certainly book again when we are in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights. This apartment has everything. It is stylish and elegant as well as practical and comfortable. The owners and a helpful neighbour answered any queries we had and provided lots more sheets and towels to cover for vistors we had throughout our stay. The design of the apartment was perfect for when we had friends to stay - as the extra bedroom and bathroom are quite separate from the main apartment. Apartment and location were both unbeatable.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful apartment for three nights during a two-week vacation in England. As lovely as our hotels were, this self-catered accommodation was the most spacious and comfortable. The high ceilings, fireplace and a tall windows give it the 19th century period feel that reflects its location on Great Pulteney Street, the location used for the film Vanity Fair. Nonetheless, there is a modern, well-equipped and well-supplied kitchen, a spacious bath with both a tub and a separate shower, and a laptop computer with internet access. The location - very close to the center of town but just far enough away to be quiet and relatively tourist-free - could not be more ideal. We would happily return there should we revisit Bath.

We were shown around the apartment, spotlessly clean with everything you might need for a weekend away including a nice touch of a welcome pack of basics, milk, tea, coffee and croissants. The apartment was elegant, spacious, a short flat walk from all the best bits of Bath. Amazingly quiet for somewhere so close to the action too.
We went to Cavendish restaurant which is 1 minutes walk from the apartment, in the Dukes Hotel. Whilst not the most lively of atmospheres the food was delicious, Michelin level. Ideal for a special occasion.
Oh and Janet who showed us round was lovely too :) -

Having had a poor experience staying at an hotel in Bath last year, we were determined that this time we would stay somewhere that was a home from home and The Gallery exceeded all expectations. Excellent communication from our initial booking onwards made arrival easy and straightforward. The position of The Gallery in Great Pulteney Street means that all the restaurants, shops and museums that Bath has to offer are all within easy walking distance. The apartment is very well furnished and comfortable with every last detail thought of, down to the provision of a laptop for guests to use. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending The Gallery to anyone looking for somewhere special for their stay in Bath.

We stayed here in February 2011 and the apartment was fantastic and more than we all could have hoped for. Its central location and easy access to the main attractions make it an ideal location for exploring Bath centre and the surrounding areas.
There is a secured car parking space provided at a small additional cost and a welcome pack of orange juice, tea bags, coffee etc was awaiting our arrival. The apartment is located on the 1st floor of a large Georgian terrace; the staircase is wide and not steep so access is not too difficult although not wheelchair friendly.
Within the flat there are two double bedrooms along with two single beds available on the mezzanine level. Our bedroom was comfortable and well equipped; we slept well and felt warm and cosy throughout our stay. There is a large dining room table, a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and a large living room area with flat screen television.
At the end of the road is the Holburne Museum, currently undergoing refurbishment. In the centre of town there are lots of shops, a tourist sightseeing bus and plenty of attractions including the Roman Baths and Bath abbey all within an easy 10 minute walk from the apartment.
There is a Waitrose supermarket close by and two cinemas within the city centre, there are over 200 restaurants in the Bath area and lots of great places to eat and drink within a short walk of the apartment if you didn’t want to stay in.
We would definitely visit again and recommend The Gallery to all of our friends. -

Left on 01/07/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This was the 2nd time we had stayed at The Gallery
Our first trip in October 2009 with my mother in her 70s and our two teenage children. We wanted to have a living space for us all to be in and a kitchen. It is far better than ahotel for a group such as ours. It is situated on Great Pulteney Street a wide Georgian street of classical "Jane austen" townhouses. In my opinion it is more beautiful than the more famous "Crescent".The 1st floor apartment is accessed via a staircase which is not at allsteep but of course would be a problem for the very infirm. You can park outside to unload, then relocate to the designated free parking space nearby. We did not get back in the car again until we left as everywhere is accessible by foot. The apartment has all you could want and more: high ceilings/chandeliers and a fantastic dining table. The kitchen is well -equipped ( we cooked Christmas dinner here) Our teenagers slept in comfortable single beds on the mezzanine floor above the living room which worked well and would also be fine for adults. There is a lap top computer with internet access and wi fi in the apartment which came in useful. The welcome pack of preserves/milk and croissantes is much appreciated.A 5 minute walk gets you to the Great Pulteney Bridge and weir (plenty of restaurants and cafes) and there is a Waitrose foodstore closeby at the Podium close to the bridge. From there all the sights of Bath can be walked to (another 5 mins or so takes you to the famous "Pump Room" -book a table on line /by phone to avoid disappointment- Bath abbey, all the shops etc) We also recommend the Bus tours which go from the centre of the city around the city and into the surrounding countryside.Whether you are self catering or eating out -or a bit of both like we did,the Gallery cannot be faulted as a place to stay to experience Bath.

The saying goes: don't go back to the same place twice as you'll never find what you experienced the first time. The Gallery proves to be the exception to this rule. We have lived the dream again during our second visit. Elaine's and Stan's eye for detail, their hospitality, the stunning apartment, its superb location, the fluffy towels, its luxury bedlinnen and dinner service a.s.o. made it a place where one is in heaven with far more than 4 stars; a whole galaxy, in fact. Words cannot express our experience but a big big thank you to Elaine & Stan for allowing us to live the dream.

The flat met our expectations fully. The photographs on the Gallery web page are a very fair representation of what the flat is like. This is not always the case.
An important point for us was staying in a heritage property but with modern comforts that did not detract from the heritage value. This is difficult to achieve but in our view view the flat did have this characteristic. -

I found the Gallery two years ago when I stayed here with a friend. I couldn't wait to show off my find and had the ideal opportunity when my husband and I had friends visiting from the USa. They were all as thrilled with the apartment as I and agreed this really is the perfect place to stay and soak up the atmosphere in Bath.
The apartment has every modern convenience and is spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished in keeping with the period; kitchen and bathrooms are modern, stylish and very well appointed. Everything is immaculately maintained and presented.
The location on one of the best Georgian streets is exceptional and only a few minutes pleasant walk from the town centre. You will not need a car to explore Bath from here but, if you do travel by road, the parking space provided with the apartment is invaluable. If you fancy meeting the locals there is even a good real ale pub just around the corner on Daniel Street, the Pulteney arms.
The owners Elaine and Stan have an excellent web site and online reservations and check-in are very friendly, efficient and easy. The security deposit payable on my first visit was returned promptly as promised.
It isn't often you can award full marks across the board but the Gallery really does warrant this rating.

Elaine and Stan were waiting to greet us and give us the personal touch for checking into the appartment.
A very well maintained property that can only be described as home from home. Not only was the appartment furnished tastefully and in keeping with the location, the additional touch of a fully stocked kitchen made the self catering stay a real breeze.
Good sized bedrooms, en suite, and a huge bathroom make a family stay here better than any hotel can offer.
Location is everything and this appartment has great views and is a stones throw to town via the picturesque Pulteney Bridge, add in the parking spot and you have a perfect break with no worries.
