It has a 4 Star rating from Visit Britain and a Gold Award. Opened in February 2013, the recently-refurbished bungalow is equipped and furnished to a high standard and has its own small garden.
The bungalow has central heating and offers a cosy retreat where you can relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings. The large dual aspect lounge / diner has comfortable furniture and large patio windows which lead to the garden, where there is a lawn, patio and garden furniture. There is a fla...t screen TV with DVD player, iPod docking station and free Wi-Fi. The kitchen is newly fitted and well equipped with the usual modern appliances to make self catering an easy and pleasurable experience. The large bedroom is dual aspect and has views over the garden. It has fitted wardrobes and a comfortable, metal framed antique style double bed. There is a bright fresh newly fitted bathroom with bath and wash basin and a separate wc. There is ample parking on the large driveway. It should be noted that the bungalow accommodation is non smoking.
We also run a small craft gallery from Lower Church Farmhouse, which displays a very good selection of art and craftwork, including furniture, ceramics, jewellery etc, all made by local craftspeople.
The village of Marksbury combines a rural setting with close proximity to the beautiful spa city and world heritage site, Bath. It is also ideally situated for those visiting Bristol, the Cotswolds and the cathedral city of Wells. Attractions such as Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Stonehenge and Wookey Hole are also within easy travelling distance. Within an hour's drive of the village there are lots of interesting places to visit, such as Cirencester, Tetbury, Lacock, and many National Trust properties such as Dyrham Park, Prior Park Gardens and Stourhead. There are beautiful country walks on the doorstep and Marksbury has an interesting church, believed to be late 12th Century in origin.
We offer an extremely warm welcome and are also happy to provide home-cooked meals for our guests at times to suit. We are willing to collect guests from the local airport, rail stations and bus stations for a small charge, and assist in any way to ensure they enjoy their stay.Read more

Marksbury is on the A39, between Bath and Wells, 4 miles from Keynsham and 5 miles from the outskirts of Bath. It is a village, with beautiful country walks on the doorstep and a grocery shop and petrol station two minutes' drive away from Lower Church Farmhouse. There are bus links from Marksbury to Bath and Bristol and Park & Ride facilities to both cities within a short drive. Bath, Bristol and Keynsham have rail stations. This property is ideally situated to explore many local attractions such as Longleat, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, the Cotswolds and the cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells.
