Description from the owner
Sunny 40m2 apartment on the top floor of a small building. Great view of the medieval cathedral Notre-Dame from the living room. It is situated on rue Saint Martin with its shopping, dining and strolling. The apartment is simple, basic, bright and pleasant. It has a separate bedroom with a 2-person bed. In the living room, there is a leather couch that converts to a bed. It is perfect for a couple or a couple with 1 or 2 children. There are some stairs, so we do not recommend babies or toddlers. The bathroom includes a French-style tub with hand-held shower head. The WC is separate. Bed linens and towels are included for a small fee. The kitc...Read more

What Past Guests Are Saying
Home away from home at a wonderful location
This is a romantic, comfortable, satisfying apartment-a designer's idea of the perfect garret apartment. Even though it is in the midst of old Bayeux, it is quiet and very private. We made ourselves right at home.
The windows and skylights make for a well-lighted space and offer lovely views.
The view of the cathedral from the living room window is spectacular. Open the window and hear them ring the changes. And from the bedroom window, you can check out the street scene below-and cast an eye on your car in the parking lot across the street.
The kitchen has everything you need, including toaster and coffeemaker. The washing machine was most welcome after 7 days on the road. The bathroom is good-sized, with a large bath (separate WC). The bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed and a large chest of drawers.
Parking in the lot opposite is free on Sunday and between 7 PM and 9 am on weekdays. If you are out and about most days, as we were, the lot worked well. For longer daytime parking, see the owners' recommendation for free lots, as the nearby lot requires feeding the meter every 2 hours.
Speaking of the owners' recommendations, the instructions were excellent. Even after a long day's drive, we had no trouble finding the apartment, operating the locks, and getting ourselves settled and oriented. The owners are both pleasant and professional and make the whole process easy and stress-free.
Location, location location!
A first-class bakery/patisserie is located a few steps away, and an excellent charcuterie is just down the street. The Tourist Office and a small grocery store are also just down the street, and there are restaurants, specialty shops, and markets galore in any direction you turn.
The tapestry is a short walk away. The beaches are 15-20 minutes by car. Innumerable day-trips are possible, so it is an excellent base for sight-seeing in the region.
We look forward to returning some day!
