It is situated on Provence/Gard border near St-Remy-de-Provence, Arles & Uzes.

This beautiful large, stone, old farmhouse is set in 2 acres. It has a stone-walled courtyard, stone-walled pool area, lovely gardens and orchard and is completely private.

It has recently been renovated to a very high standard, retaining all its original character. Situated 3 miles outside the lovely town of Beaucaire on the Provence & Languedoc border easily accessed by motorway, rail & local airports: Nimes 20min, Avignon 35min, Marseilles1 hour (by car).

It is a perfect family ho...me, charming & romantic and very safe for young children.

The house enjoys lovely views over surrounding vineyards, orchards and countryside.

The large, enclosed, paved courtyard with its old fountain is so romantic for outside dining in the shade of the huge fig tree. The courtyard leads to the stone-walled swimming pool area via a heavy lockable door for additional safety.

There are 5 luxurious double bedrooms (3 en-suite) plus twin attic room for children, 5 bathrooms in all. There is a study with wifi, Computer and Satellite TV.

Pure cotton quality bed linen; towels and pool towels are provided.

There is a very well equipped spacious kitchen (with antique refectory table), formal dining room & beautiful salon, ideal for entertaining.

It is very difficult to capture on camera the splendour of this house..... The front of the house is enclosed by an ancient courtyard, so a long distance shot is impossible.

Additional Location Information

Beaucaire is situated in the heart of the old Roman province of Gaul. There are many places of historical interest to visit here; we are close to St-Remy-de-Provence with its amazing Roman ruins. The stunning hill-top fortress of Les Baux in the Alpilles is 15 mins away. We are half an hour from the beautiful city of Avignon; with its famous Palace of the Popes. Arles is 20 mins away and was the Roman capital of Gaul so has many spectacular Roman remains. Arles is also home to the Impressionist painters, Van Gogh, Cezanne etc. Nimes, also 20 mins away, has the best preserved Roman Temple & Arena in France.
Close by is the famous Pont du Gard & Ducal town of Uzes.
The beautiful beaches of Ste Maries de-la-Mer are only 35 mins drive away, taking you through the spectacular Carmague, famous for its white horses, black bulls and Natural Wildlife Reserve. Horse-riding & biking are the best way to see this beautiful natural parkland with its flamingos & vast bird life.
Excellent shopping & sightseeing in Arles, St-Remy-de-Provence, Nimes Montpelier and Avignon.
Great restaurants all around.
Other Activities closeby: Go-kart track. Kayaking (One can hire canoes for a 2 hour trip down the Gardon to the Pont du Gard - best way to see this famous Roman Aquaduct).
Vineyards for wine tasting (we are surrounded by them - literally)!
Golf: Les Baux famous golf course!

  We've had the good fortune of being guests at lovely Mas Pilet for the last three summers. We'll never forget the first time we stepped through the large gate and were taken in by the magic of the this very special place. Every part of the house is full of character. Each bedroom has its individual, unique charm. The kitchen is generously spaced and there even is a dishwasher, neatly hidden away as not to spoil the rustic atmosphere. The pool is perfectly sized for those delicious cool offs on hot summer days. Many a lovely, warm summer night was spent under the beautiful fig tree in the spacious, romantic courtyard sipping wine from the vineyard where Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe filmed "A Good Year", which is only a few scenic kilometers away. Beaucaire in general is a perfect launching pad into the Provence and the Montpellier region. We are looking forward to returning this summer very much.

  What a delight this property was, the photos on the web site did not do do it justice.
  The house was well equipped and extremely spacious.
  The bedrooms were very comfortable with lovely bed linens. No one in our group drew "the short straw" as all the rooms were beautifully appointed.
  Very interesting area for sightseeing a heavy Roman influence.
  We enjoyed the BBQ and all the outside eating areas.
  We would strongly recommended this property.
