Nestled in a secluded dell, this log cabin boasts interior walls of polished cherry wood harvested from the nearby forest. A cathedral ceiling and meticulous craftsmanship welcome you to the interior of a jewel box. Sit in the spacious shade of a wrap-around porch and watch cloud shadows play across a facing mountain. Barbecue dinner on the rear brick patio. Listen to the songs of whippoorwills and katydids in the night, and see what the heavens look like miles away from light pollution.

This cabin affords privacy, but is only minutes away from the D-D...ay Memorial, a five-star restaurant, and cultural events sponsored by the Sedalia Center. In less than one hour, you can be kayaking or canoeing on the James River. Viewing Roanoke from the top of Mill Mountain. Strolling the campus of Liberty University.

This is a year-round facility. In winter, you can snuggle up in front of a wood fire and sneer at the wind fretting around the corners of this tight and well-insulated home. In spring, watch the dogwoods and redbuds bloom, and hike to the top of the nearby Peaks of Otter. Summer time, and the living is easy. Uninvited people and problems will have trouble finding you. In fall, the air is crisp, clear, cool. The leaves turn colors.

1. The damage deposit is $500, and is due at the same time you make your reservation.

2. To reserve your place, pay for it using our secure online credit card merchant account. We will e-mail you the link. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, owner may keep the rental fee, but will refund the damage deposit. Please call if circumstances compel you to change your plans. Owner will reschedule if an alternate date is available.

3. IMPORTANT! Damage deposit will be remitted by company check within 14 days of departure date if there are no damages.

4. Upon rental request, the renter will receive a link to a secure third-party online service enabling them to pay by credit card.

5. CANCELLATION: All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellation must be received 30 days prior to arrival or rentals paid are forfeit.Read more

  We used this as a halfway point to meet some friends. I was so pleased! It is a delightful cabin nestled in the mountains, neat as a pin with lots of unexpected amenities. The kitchen has all the things necessary to cook a full meal. The beds were really comfortable.

  Beautiful Log Cabin

  This was a remote cabin in a beautiful mountain setting. Very quiet and peaceful. The porch was beautiful. My son had a great time playing.
  
  Plus: fireplace, fire pit, grill, kitchen was well stocked, linens provided, clean, wi-fi, close to zoo and local attractions, most stores and restaurants were in Bedford 10 mile drive
  
  Minus: only stall showers, but we managed to bathe our son, ran out of hot water when we took 2 showers back to back, small indoor living area, but lots of room on the porch, no cell service or cable tv

  Beautiful Cabin Near the Blue Ridge Parkway

  The cabin is a jewelbox: when the light shines through the many windows, the cherry wood really glows. Great kitchen, well-equipped. Three bathrooms were a luxury (especially compared to other rentals in the region, which often only have one). Hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, and great unpaved roads for Jeeping are all nearby. We saw deer and turkeys on the property. Tom the Elder is a gentleman and was very welcoming. The only reason I did not rate the cabin as "excellent" was the absence of wi-fi; without cell phone reception, there was no way to contact the outside world other than the land line phone...and, for better or worse, we live in a world where contact is important.
