Description from the owner
Its winter at Hideaway Hollow and we have more than a foot of snow to start off the season. This is the perfect winter retreat with open fields for snow shoeing, sledding or building a snowman or an igloo. The hot tub is ready and what a great way to end the day after skiing at Blue Knob, just minutes away. The cabin is available too and is very popular for a couples weekend of relaxation with the wood stove and outdoor hot tub. Rent the cabin alone or with the farmhouse for a big family or friend gathering. Great fun happens here and cherished memories too. Great mid week deals all winter long. Just ask when you call! The farmhouse has four...Read more

Pittsburgh, PAA Hidden Gem in the Mountains
Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in January 2012
If you want to know what a great place Hideaway Hollow is just ask a repeat customer like myself! My Husband and I have stayed at the Farmhouse and the brand new Cabin many times over the past few years. We go every year for our anniversary in January so imagine the all the snow! We've also went once in the Spring, once in the Fall, and have a trip planned for this Fall. No matter what season you go you'll love the views and have so much to do.
Here are a few reasons why my husband and I love going:
-Patty & Wayne (the owners) are such great people!! They will do anything and everything to make sure you have a great experience. Like 27" of snow? Don't worry because Patty and Wayne will shovel you out (true story from our first trip to Hideaway Hollow).
-The value for the farmhouse or the cabin is great. All the amenities like Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and the hot tub. The cabin is adorable with the wood burning stove. I dare you to compare the prices to nearby hotels or lodging on the mountain.
-The location is great. Blue Knob State Park, Blue Knob Ski Resort, Bedford, and altoona are just a short drive away.
-There's always things to do. In the Spring you can go hiking at Blue Knob State Park. In the Summer there's tons of Farmers Markets and activities. In the Fall you can visit the orchards and the Fall Foliage Festival. In the Winter you can go tubing at Blue Knob Ski Resort.
I've wanted to keep Hideaway Hollow my little secret but everyone deserves to know about it. I now suggest it to all my friends and family. Whether you get the Farmhouse or the Cabin you will have a great time!

PittsburghCharm, comfort, beauty and more at Hideawy Hollow
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Hideaway Hollow lives up to its name. My friends and I needed a cabin at the last minute as our weekend camping plans had been rained out. I came across Hideaway Hollow through this website and contacted the renters, Patty and Wayne, on very short notice. Both were incredibly friendly and very accomodating. My friends and I opted to stay in the cabin and we were amazed by its charm, comfort, and beauty. It was the perfect spot to get away for the weekend and spend time together. The views from the cabin and the nearby garden were spectacular. If you're a fan of star gazing, this is also the perfect spot. I've never seen more stars in the sky.
The cabin's amenities were great - we enjoyed being able to refridgerate our food and beverages as well as cooking on the stove and grilling out during the day. It's also a very short drive to Blue Knob state park, which is wonderful.
I would recommend Hideaway Hollow to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away from home. -

PhiladelphiaThe Cabin is a new Gem!!
Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My partner and I decided to get out of the city for the Christmas weekend and found the newly finished cabin at Hideaway Hollow. It was a perfect location for doing day hikes in Blue Knob State Park (literally a 10 minute drive from the cabin door). The hosts, Patty and Wayne, could not be nicer. They nicely decorated the cabin for the holiday and had a fire in the wood stove to warm the place for our arrival. Very simple 3.5 hour drive from Philadelphia. And, with the skiing at Blue Knob, it's the perfect alternate(in comfort and price)to the Poconos.
You must check out this great cabin!! -

Perryville, MDOpen fields to run or quiet to relax
Left on 06/26/2011 for a stay in June 2011
My wife, myself, our son, and two dogs stayed at Hideaway Hollow while visiting family. We love being able to allow the dogs to run through the fields and nature hike with our son. It's a quiet and relaxing get away. It will be even better when the cabin is finished.

My wife and I came home to visit family over Labor Day weekend and stayed at Hideaway Hollow. We were able to bring our two dogs and they also had a great time running in the fields. We had an enjoyable time sitting around the fire pit and using the hot tub. It's like Bon Jovi sang, "Who say's you can't go home".
