Hemos estado un fin de semana, nos parece una casa con un gusto exquisito parece que te traslada a un tiempo pasado, no pudimos disfrutar de la piscina porque nuestra visita fue en Mayo, la recomiendo a parejas que quieran un fin de semana de relax y si vais con niños los tendréis jugando en el jardín el rato.
Fuimos dos parejas con un niño cada uno y nos dieron una zona de la casa en la que estábamos solos.
Si tengo que buscarle un defecto , no íbamos preparados para el desayuno, te lo tienes que preparar y comprar tu , pero fue agradable
prepararlo con los otros huéspedes.

Un sitio precioso para descansar y relajarte. Las habitaciones y la casa en general preciosas. Todo muy limpio. Hace muchos años que no desayunaba huevos caseros, uhmm ...deliciosos. Mucha tranquilidad y contacto con la naturaleza. Otra cosa a tomar en cuenta, es la amabilidad de Ramón y de su gente.

Tanto Ramon, como sus masovers, son encantadores.
La decoracion de la casa está llena de muchos detalles que la hacen bonitay confortable. Tiene billar y futbolin. Tambien varios salones.
La casa está situada en el corazon del ampurda.
El jardin permite disfrutar de una tranquilidad y unas vistas preciosas.

Nos encantó todo, desde el primer momento, Ramón el dueño de la masia, fue el perfecto anfitrión. Llegamos, nos enseñó la casa y nos dijo cual era nuestra habitación, en nuestro caso, la Suit Nupcial como la llamaba él...ya que varíos novios habian pasado por ella...con una terraza estupenda para tomar el sol...nos presentó al resto de huéspedes..uno de ellos eran dos matrimonios encantadores que tuvimos el placer de conocer y con los que compartimos una comida excelente en la cocina de la masia, Ramón tambien comió con nosotros, compartimos anécdotas, vivencias, vinos y algún que otro licor...una masia decorada con muchísimo gusto, acogedora en todas sus entancias...para resumirla en una palabra sería...ideal!

Il nous sera difficile de garder le secret... Oui! il existe des lieux où l'on peut oublier les vicissitudes de tous les jours... Being welcomed by the owner at the front porch is more than what one expects!
While showing us around mansion, Ramon shared with us great experience not just about the house and its history but even about his own.
This is everyones dream house. Equipped to the smallest detail with vintage/antique furniture and small objects. Owner has a lot of style and I can assure You. There are several equipped rooms with open fireplace.
Every morning you can find fresh eggs and vegetables on the kitchen table all that from their own chickens and garden. In backyard you can find swimming pool and sauna.
This is definitely the best choice if you are looking for some quite and relaxing vacation, weekend or short term stay for you who are living in Barcelona or nearby.

As everyone can see on the photos on the website, the house is simply incredible. Everyday we woke up with the same doubt, we could go away and visit the villages near the house, or staying at home, and that is what we did. We prefered staying there enjoying that fantastic house, plenty of lots of little details in every single part of it, such as ancient furniture and pieces that were used in farms in the last century.
Of course, before finishing this comment, I would like to enhance the hospitality shown by the owner and the family that takes care of that beautiful place.
Thanks Ramon, Roberto and family for those unforgetable days at Mas Mauri. We hope to see you again...

A group of 14 golfers from Iceland stayed in Mas Mauri for 9 days. We were very happy with the house and other accomodation. Ramon, our host, was helpful and friendly.
We palyed golf every day in good golf courses that are in the close vicinity.

I don't know where to begin with this review as Mas Mauri was by far our favourite place to stay ever. We had the pleasure of getting married at Mas Mauri and then spending the following week with our family & friends there. They were all blown away by the beauty and grandeur of Mas Mauri.
It maintains its rustic charms but has so many modern amenities and features that you do not want for anything.
Ramon, his daughter, Nuria, her husband, Joan, and Roberto all took such good care of us at Mas Mauri - their service is like none other. Whether it was helping us with every single detail of our wedding to recommending restaurants to booking tee times to giving the kids fresh eggs to making the famous paella, we felt especially loved by everyone at Mas Mauri.
They are like family to us now and we can't wait to come back for many years to come.
If you want to be close to the beaches yet with the tranquility of the country and to be totally looked after during your stay, then Mas Mauri is the place.
Also if you would like to get married in the most beautiful setting that will wow even the most discerning guests, then again, Mas Mauri is the perfect place.
We cannot recommend Mas Mauri enough.

For privacy, rustic luxury and spectacular location, this rambling stone farmhouse is truly one-of-a-kind. When we pulled up, we couldn't believe the place was more beautiful than the pictures. For us, anyway, the simple beauty of 400-year-old walls; the long, relaxed dinners outside under the arched stone terrace roof with summer breezes cooling us off; the sparkling pool in case the breezes weren't enough; and Ramon's continental charm (he lives next door, in case you need anything), were almost too much to believe. Seriously: if we had more free time, we'd be there twice a year. A big, happy family -- or a group of couples -- will find the many rooms (each with its own modern bathroom!) perfect for privacy; the many cozy gathering spaces, inside and out, are a relaxing treat. Add fresh eggs and tomatoes delivered every morning by Ramon's caretaker, Roberto, from the house garden, and (believe it or not) occasional expert babysitting by Ramon's charming daughter, Claudia, and again, you're wondering if it's possible. Amazing stuff. Some great beaches are only 10-15 minutes' drive away, and there's a constellation of medieval villages nearby perfect for exploring. We had 12 people in our family, all of whom had plenty of privacy, and plenty of fun. Pool table, wifi, library, amazing. If there's any negative (it's hard to find, of course), it's that there's no air Conditioning for the very hottest evenings, but each room has a ceiling fan, which works very well. Again, wonderful place.

Mas Mauri is a beautiful old country house with all modern facilities . All rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The owner Ramon and Roberto (gardener/concierge)are very friendly and helpfull. A nice extra is the vegetable garden and the fresh eggs thar you can collect every morning. for us, a group of 5 couples with kids this was the perfect holiday house, you can't find better then this. thanks to Ramon and Roberto.

Somos jugadores de golf,y hemos podido disfrutar de los diversos campos de la zona.
La casa, una maravillosa masia centenaria goza de todas las comodidades y distracciones...piscina y sauna..huerto para recoger verduras para las comidas y cenas,billar..y tanto las habitaciones baños son espaciosos y están en perfectas condiciones,los salones grandes y acogedores.

A group of 13 of us stayed at Mas Mauri in July 2012 for 2 weeks. There were 4 separate families, some of who had children. The villa is set up wonderfully for this type of accommodation, because the couples who had children were able to stay in bedrooms next to each other, and the couples without children still had their own privacy. The bedrooms are quite large and the bathrooms were also a good size. The house has a lot of room so everyone always felt like they had their own space if they needed it. The kitchen is well equipped and the washer/dryer were put to good use.
The pool, garden, little fish pond and grounds are well kept and add to the charm of Mas Mauri. Roberto (the grounds keeper/gardener) has a wonderful garden with amazing tomatoes and generously shares the garden's bounty with Ramon's guests. The eggs that he brought over every few days were just what you would expect from free range eggs. We all enjoyed Roberto's generosity immensely.
Ramon is a wonderful host and was always there to answer questions and offer help if we needed it. We took another reviewer's suggestion and had the lobster paella one evening which Ramon cooked for us; we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening with Ramon's cooking and company. We also visited his daughter and fiance's restaurant - Bocca (Maria and Oriol) on many occasions during our stay, and the food was some of the best that we have ever had. Ramon and his family were so kind and welcomed us with a hug whenever we greeted them; it is hard to find hospitality like the kind that they showed us in today's world.
If you are looking for a beach vacation, then the Begur area is definitely the place. Mas Mauri is a great place to stay within easy driving distance to beaches. The daily market in Palafrugell is also worth a visit to get anything that Roberto does not have available in his garden.
We rated the area of Begur as a 4/5 simply because we would have liked a little more historical sightseeing than what was in the area without having to drive so far, and we were a little disappointed in the lack of authentic places to buy Spanish/Catalonian goods; many stores in the small nearby towns are touristy and many sell the same inexpensive goods that you can find at home.
One suggestion that we would make for people traveling to Mas Mauri in the summer- bring bug spray if you are prone to bug bites - we had a hard time finding bug spray and we liked to sit outside after dinner. We would also pack some kind of after bite cream - the mosquitoes are a different strain than what we have here and the irritation from the bites lasted longer.
We would recommend without question Mas Mauri. Ramon was very helpful from the moment we contacted him last summer, and continued to keep in contact with us up until we left for Spain. He went out of his way to make our stay a pleasurable one. Ramon is a delightful person and we will forever remember our stay at his villa. -

Very nice villa,pool and garden. Super friendly host Ramon to welcome and help you with all things you might need. You or those interested MT Biking is also great in the vicinity with lots of nice (predefined)tracks.
I'll remember it as a super experience, as well the relaxing as the sportive part of it.

nous avons séjourné chez Ramon à trois familles, six adultes et huit enfants. Bonheur des adolescents qui avaient leur propre espace de vie, éloigné de celui des parents et à l'inverse, tranquillité pour les parents dans des chambres spacieuses, toutes marquées du charme de l'authenticité avec tout le confort voulu. Région d'eau et de vins, les alentours valent le détour et pas uniquement pour se baigner. Et pour les amoureux de la maison, la piscine avec le soir, les produits du jardin que l'on déguste sous le patio, Ramon vous proposant d'aller les cueillir derrière la maison en compagnie de son jardinier.

Great house, much comfort, nice spacious rooms with each one an bath room,great living room, nice garden with beautiful swimming pool. We were there as a group of mountain bikers and had really a great stay, the best yet in five years. First a nice welcoming by Ramon, the owner, who did really everything within his possible to help you out to get what you want. He even bought us a map with mountaine bike tracks ! One day he made us a paella with lobster, delicious !!! And then the region, one of the most beautiful of Spain, certainly for mountain bikers, really nice tracks and beautiful sight seeings. I would recommend this house to everybody, seriously no joke !!!

we spent 1 week in mas mauri. The place is great, the house also and very spacious. It's very quite, not far from town and beach. We had a very, very pleasant moment. Ramon is very helpfull, he is a very good paella's cooker. The pool is very large. This is the place!

Sono stato varie volte in Spagna e in particolare in Costa Brava,sempre con altre famiglie di amici,e sempre ho cercato una villa che ci potesse ospitare tutti.Dopo Sagaro',Sa Riera ,Tossa de Mar,sono arrivato in questo "Paradiso"!!! A parte la bellezza e la tranquillita' del posto,e' in assoluto la casa piu' accogliente,pulita e bella di tutte.Per non parlare di "Ramon",padrone di casa e grande personaggio,sempre presente per qualsiasi problema (abita di fianco!!) A nostra richiesta una sera (per la gioia nostra e dei ragazzi)ha cucinato davanti a noi una Paella come non avevo mai mangiato.Un posto dove tornero' sicuramente e che raccomando senza riserva alcuna!!! massimo.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Mas Mauri pendant 15 jours. Nous étions 3 familles, au total 15 personnes. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien agencées, chacune à sa salle de bain. Le jardin est calme et bien entretenu avec une grande piscine dotée d'un plongeoir (les enfants etaient ravis). Nous avons pu organiser un tournoi de baby foot et de billard entre nous car ces éléments sont à disposition. Enfin, notre hote nous a cuisiné des produits typiques (Paëlla et viandes au four à bois). Un tres agréable souvenir de la costa brava dans de très belles conditions.

Mas Mauri is a beautiful old farmhouse with tons of character while having great modern facilities. For an extended family with friends, it is an ideal holiday experience giving each family their own wing almost and private facilities. Being centrally located, it is possible to use it as a base but it allows you to also enjoy some great R & R on site witha gorgeous pool and many different outdoor areas. For those that love cooking like we do on holiday, we were able to shop at local markets and then easily cook for the group with the added addition of fresh eggs and vegetables delivered each day to suit our needs. Then for the local experience, we enjoyed Ramon's wonderful lobster paella. It was definitely a highlight of the holiday

My husband and I had been in contact with Ramon and his daughter for almost a year to plan an event at their property. We received very good service during this period and it got even better during the long-weekend of the event, when we were staying at Mas Mauri with our most intimate family members, which were flying in from different parts of the world.
Mas Mauri is really a hidden gem in the Costa Brava and exceeded our expectations in every way. Being that this event was very special for us, it was important that the service and details were perfect and we were not at all disappointed. The property from the outside holds characteristics of “Masias” from its period in Catalunya, but the owners have taken special pride in restoring original details of the home, incorporating special antiques and at the same time complimenting them with modern amenities (Entertainment system, easy wi-fi access, electrical appliances, water filter, memory foam pillows and rain and message shower heads).
From the minute our family stepped foot on the property they were in awe of all the spaces, details and charm included. Our family consisted in everyone from a young teenager to our grandmother and we all found corners of the house to discover, explore and relax in; of course, the main attractions being the pool and table soccer area. Every morning we were delivered a tasty European-style breakfast with variety for all and during the day we had the liberty to scavenge through the organic for veggies and fresh eggs.
The most unique characteristic of the property is its laid-back energy. I believe Ramon and Roberto create a space that welcomes people who want to relax, unwind and enjoy life. On a last note, the property location is ideal; right between Begur and Pals, you have the option of going to the beach, strolling through Begur’s picturesque town center or Pals Romanic history. -

We stayed there for three days, a group of 14 women, and we all agree that the experience was very positive.
The house is located in a gorgeous town surrounded by nature, very centric and near by the beach. The rooms were very comfortable, tidy, well decorated and with a private bathroom.
The owner it's very polite and friendly, and the service in general it's excellent.
Great option to stay either with family or friends in a beautiful and peaceful environment. -

Our family holiday at "Mas Mauri" was perfect, thanks to Ramon and his staff. It is an enchanting beautiful, spacious villa , so welcoming & relaxing. We spent most of our days outside by the fantastic swimming pool and decking. Then the evening's having dinner under the stone archway, eating and drinking until the early hours. Ramon cooked us the most perfect lobster Paella, and Roberto the gardener cooked us a traditional Bolivian beef dish. Both meals were heaven on earth, do not miss out on them. Getting up in the morning and going next door to collect fresh eggs & organic produce was a delighful bonus.
In our opinion the Costa Brava is the most perfect part of Spain & Mas Mauri is the most perfect part of the Costa Brava. We intend to go back as soon we can.

We have rented vacation homes for many years, throughout the USa, Mexico, and Spain, but never had we stayed anywhere before that could even come close in comparison to the spectacular accommodations and experience we had at Mas Mauri. The setting is breathtaking; the home is beautifully restored architectural treasure; the beds, linens,towels and furnishings are all top rate and the host/ owner is so wonderful that he instantly made us feel part of his family. From the moment we arrived, we never wanted to leave. We enjoyed the pool and gardens, fresh eggs and organic veggies from their patch; beautiful dinners outside under the stone archway, (If the owner offers to make you a paella like he did for us- do not hesitate - it was divine!) Comfortable sitting/lounging areas. The kids were easily entertained with the swimming pool, table soccer and large grassy areas for playing. The home was so relaxing that we hardly wanted to leave; but made several day trips to take in the many great sites of the area. Everything is easy to get to, although at the home we felt totally removed from the summer crowds in our serene setting. It was unanimous among all of the family (ages 5 - 75)-as the best vacation ever!
We dream of returning every year!

Our family reunion at "Mas Mauri" was absolutely perfect, thanks to our host Ramon, his wondeful family and staff, and his exceptionaly lovely home. You will not find a more beautiful, welcoming and memorable place to stay in the Costa Brava!
The house itself is stunning. We expected a charming old stone home to have its quirks, as they often do, but this house has been thoroughly, thoughtfully and tastefully renovated all the way from the plumbing to the decor. It offers all the modern comforts and luxuries you could need while retaining the enchanting character of an historic rural "masia". It exceeded all reasonable expectations, and I can't think of a single thing I'd change. I only wish I'd spent more time inside! It is so conveniently located to the most beautiful stretch of the Costa Brava, we spent most of our time exploring the local towns and beaches.
When we were at the house, we were mostly outdoors enjoying the gorgeous pool and grounds. There was plenty of room for the kids to swim and play, and the adults loved the outdoor dining table where we relaxed, ate and drank for many hours, on end -a truly authentic Spanish vacation!
But the main reason "Mas Mauri" is so special is the wonderful people who took care of us during our stay. Our host Ramon shows the same thoughtful attention to his guests as he does to his home. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, from recommendations for local activities & restaurants, to fresh produce and eggs from his garden and everything in between. He and his staff genuinely do whatever they can to make your visit special -and if Ramon offers to cook for you, take him up on it! There are few things more enjoyable than having a "paella" made for you by poolside!
I can't say enough good things about our week at "Mas Mauri", and we are hoping to return for another visit soon!
