      Feeling home abroad

Left on 05/30/2013 for a stay in May 2013

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Blue Door for 18 days in May, visiting our son who was studying arabic in Beirut. The neighbourhood is quiet, with small shops and nice people. There is a bigger supermarket around the corner. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the bars and restaurants in Gemayze and even downtown is on walking distance. The location can't be better! The apartment itself is very comfortable and anything you probably will need is there. We loved the furniture and paintings. The garden (and the turtles) is a nice extra surprise. We appreciated the excellent service of Hadi. From the taxi-driver who picked us up at the airport(and back,at the end) to his help at renting a car; we were taken-care of throughout our stay. We enjoyed a great holiday and in case of coming back to Beirut, we will choose Blue Door again! Thanks.

      Feeling home in Beirut

Left on 05/27/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We loved to stay in the Blue Door apartement. It is in a nice Beiruti neighbourhood with lots of little stores and anything one could need (in front there is a really good bakery selling their fresh made menushe with zatar). Personally we prefere to stay in a place where we can cook ourselves and have no Hotel atmosphere, so this apartement with it's beautiful lebanese architecture and enterior design was perfect. There is a little terrasse which allows to stay outside. We were received in a friendly and straightforward way. The apartement is a private house (not a tourist company) and has personality. We loved it.

Beautiful, Safe apt in the heart of Beirut

Left on 12/10/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I stayed the this lovely apartment for most of November and December, and cannot say enough about it. First of all it is so comfortable, has everything you need from Wi-fi to laundry, and second it is so beautiful! My entire stay in this area, and this neighborhood I always felt completely safe. As a solo female traveller it is always a concern, I never once had a problem. I found eveyone to be amazingly helpful and hospitable. Everything you need is in walking distance including a great market, a huge shopping Mall, even Starbucks! I wish I didn't have to leave!

      Stilvolles libanesisches apartment

Left on 08/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012

      Such a great experience !

Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We spent 10 days last month in this flat and it was lovely holidays ! Everything is furnished from the bed sheets until the shampoo and the flat is well located in east Beirut. Neighbors are very nice and welcoming just as well as the owner brother. Only drawback the lack of shutter and the noise from 7 am but the second one is certainly indissiocable from the city and makes part of its charm. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the real city pretty far from the luxury downtown and its 5 stars hotels.

      Enchanted House

Left on 04/01/2012 for a stay in March 2012

The apartment was exactly everything that I had hoped for: an old Lebanese home, with charming French and Lebanese architecture and a tasteful interior design that brought the very best memories of my grandmother's home together with 21st century design. If I were to move to Beirut, I would love to live in a place like this. The location of the house is in Geitawi, a cute neighborhood, of which its habitant seem to have remained very much the same over the last century. It is close to the neighborhoods of Mar Michael and Gemmayze that are full of charm and life.

this has been my second visit to lebanon and my second stay at blue door appartment, and it would definately not be the last!!this appartment is just what any person could look for to feel comfortable and at home away from any hotels. The first time i was alone but this time with my parents and they loved it too!To start the owners brother was a real gentlemen ready to help me in everything, and he made a clear explanation how to use all the appliances. The appartment is veryyy clean, comfortable, and well furnished; anything u can think of is just there from the shampoo in the toilets to the nail polish remover!i was very astonished by the details and artistic atmosphere of the furniture. The neighborhood is a very friendly one it includes all facilities just next door(markets, bakery, restuarants,pharmacy,bank,parking...).It is close to downtown and to the airport at the same time yet away from the traffic and noise. The garden and the turtles just added an extra flavor to my stay. All i can say is for such an amount of money this furnished appartment is a real catch! And i surely recommend it for everyone just make sure to take good care of it as i wish to return soon:)!!

      Charming, personal and complete

Left on 02/17/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Early February 2012 I stayed at Lama Sfeir's apartment with my dad for a week. The stay in Beirut was amazing, mostly thanks to this wonderful home.
First of all the apartment is located in a quiet street, yet in right in the middle of ashrafiye. For me this meant I could rest at night (not being kept awake by honking cars), yet I could easily walk around the east side of the city.
Second the house is beautifully decorated, with pretty antique style elements but doesn't lack any modern facility. The pictures on one wall showed me an insight in Lebanese family history. The other walls are decorated with paintings, and the large book collection saved me buying a Lonely Planet myself.
Even the kitchen has everything you need if you're not feeling like dining out.
Lama's brother helped us into the apartment late in the evening and he was even there when we left a 3.00 am in the middle of the night for our check out.
Overall this very authentic, personal apartment is the perfect hang out for a stay in Beirut!

Cozy little place with everything you will ever need!

Left on 09/26/2011 for a stay in September 2011

I didnt know any one in Lebanon and this was my first holiday there. From the time I booked the apartment everything fell into place.Lama helped me book a cab which took me directly to the place.Hadi introduced me to this beautiful place and everything was amazing.
It's beautifully decorated and is designed for comfort. This place makes you feel home. The kitchen had everything,I didnt even have to buy coffee or sugar!!
Only thing was, I was alone and I was always outside so didnt get to spend much time in the apartment but I loved every minute I was there. And to add there are books, which I so wanted to read. This quaint place made me feel safe,at home and taken care off when I was in an unknown country.

      Charming, indeed!

Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Blue Door for one week in July as part of our honeymoon in Beirut. The owners have really thought of everything a traveler could want, from laundry to air-con (so necessary) to wireless internet to cable tv and take-out menus - even hand-drawn maps of the neighborhood! The apartment itself is comfortable and spacious, in an older building and neighborhood but decorated in a very modern and stylish way. As others have said, the apartment is exactly as described by the hosts and the pictures, and we had many telephone numbers and contacts to answer our questions in case any arose. The hosts could not have been more gracious or accommodating; we were definitely well taken-care of throughout our stay. The neighborhood has every convenience and is quiet at night, but still close enough to walk to Gemayze and achrafieh, although the taxi stand next door offers reasonable rates to anywhere within or outside of Beirut that you may want to go. We're already looking forward to our next trip to Beirut and Blue Door!

Amazing stay made even better by a most gracious host !

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We came to Beirut for a wedding and stayed in this apartment - the owner was extremely helpful in explaining to us what to expect and where to find everything in the apartment. Everything was exactly as described in photographs and in the description - there were no "surprises", such as one may find in hotel descriptions. An added plus is that there is no additional charge for wi-fi -- difficult to find in Beirut ! Were there any questions that should arise, we were given the phone numbers of other tenants in the building, as well as the owner's family member, so that we would be taken care of at all times. The area in which the apartment is located is extremely safe, quiet, and family-friendly. The friendly cat and turtle that frequent the front yard only enhanced our stay! I really cannot stress the hospitality of the owner enough, and recommend this apartment without reservation to anyone wanting to come to Beirut to experience this wonderful city!

      Unique and authentic setting!

Left on 05/13/2011 for a stay in May 2011

My fiance (Arab american) and I (Canadian) were looking for a full Lebanese experience and decided to look for an apartment in Beirut. We couldn't have asked for a more interesting and charming apartment than this one.

The apartment itself is so unique! The high ceilings, stylish windows and floor tiles make it feel like you are living in a time piece. The furniture was very comfortable with a blend of modern and antique pieces. The neighborhood, with its quiet and narrow streets, added to the charm. We even picked clementines from the tree in the apartment's garden (yes, it has garden!) and made juice for our morning breakfasts. My fiance befriended the hair stylist across the street, and got a haircut for only $10 (american)! I even did my nails at the other salon around the corner while waiting for him...
We commuted in the city with what they call 'service' cars, taxis that pick up up to 4 passengers, which was very accessible and affordable. But we also walked to many of our destinations. Gemmayze strip- where all the bars are- is only few minutes walk ...

We highly recommend this place. Transactions were very easy. Very helpful landlady and responded promptly to all our inquiries and questions. The guy (landlady's brother) who helped us at both our arrival and departure was also v. nice...

We will definitely go back to the apt in a heartbeat when we go again to Lebanon.
