Adelaide, AustraliaGreat for a family, very disappointing for couples.
Left on 10/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Pescallo apartment 2 is everything that the owner said it was. But, given the glossiness of the colourful brochures and the regular enticers after we booked it, there was huge disappointment. Its just that we didn't examine the floor plan carefully enough before making the booking. The apartment is beautifully fitted out but a major mistake has been made in designing and building it. The Tower bedroom is splendorous but the two other bedrooms have no view to anything at all. One has a small triangular window high up on one wall, designed to fit with the roof shape, but its practically impossible to see anything from it unless you are 7 foot tall. The other bedroom is a disaster if you are at all claustrophic. There are no windows in any wall! There is a skylight in the ceiling so you can see nothing at all. It would be OK as a nursery but not for sharing with an equal paying couple of friends. Instead of designing the lounge to be architecturally sophisticated with partial vaulted ceilings, it would have been far better to extend the main upstairs bedroom to the wall facing the lake and open a good sized window there. That would have ensured that two of the three bedrooms had excellent views which is part of the reason visitors come to Bellagio, to see the glorious lake Como. The consequence for the owner is that there is likely to be few repeat bookings which is a shame for the effort the owner has put into this development. Three good sized bedrooms with excellent views to the lake is what a development of this type should offer given the prices being charged. Having booked it for Euro 3,300/week for 3 couples, my wife and I got the benefit of the Tower bedroom which was magnificent. However, we were so embarrassed by the other two 'blind' bedrooms that we could not split the fare three ways, as planned. Instead, we felt obliged to pay 40% of the total amount for having the benefit of the Tower bedroom, ourselves. That should never need to happen in any high-grade apartment in one of Italy's prime holiday destinations. In summary, the apartment is fine for a family but its not at all suitable for two or three couples as the disparity between the bedrooms is far too great. Whilst I would recommend the apartment for families, I could not recommend it for couples lest they suffer the level of disappointment that we did as a group.

Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in September 2011
We decided to stay at Pescallo apartment 2 after organizing a trip for my brother and his friends who stayed in Pescallo apartment 1. After seeing their pictures, we had to see Pescallo for ourselves.
My husband and I organized the trip for ourselves, my sister and my parents. The five of us were very comfortable in the apartment with our separate bedrooms and very spacious living area.
The views and the location are wonderful. Pescallo is just a short walk (about 10 minutes) to Bellagio and its tucked away location made the stay special. The design was modern but comfortable.
Pietro and amelia were wonderful hosts and available for any questions about the area or to set-up any activities. We rented a boat (with the assistance of amelia) for an afternoon in the small harbor next to Pescallo and had an amazing time exploring Lake Como.
We highly recommend staying here as you will have a memorable vacation. We can't wait to get back! -

Simple pleasures meets design chic!
Left on 09/20/2011 for a stay in September 2011
This spacious apartment situated directly on Lake Como takes in sweeping views of mooring boats, impossibly steep mountains and striking moonlit skies. My husband, parents and young child (15 months) were fortunate enough to rent this gorgeous flat for one week in September. Surrounded by sunlight, breezes and the sounds of nature, the windows offer unique lakefront and cobblestone views. The owner's design aesthetic I would describe as almost Scandinavian in its devotion to simple, clean lines and organic materials and yet it also offers a warmth that is a delight to return to at the end of a long day of exploration. If you have small children this space is great for running around, peeking out windows and gathering family around the table for meals. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking in which we did nearly every night. One improvement might be the stocking of more than one pot but again, it wasn't a huge issue for us. Two of the bedrooms are located up one flight of stairs in a loft-like style complete with skylights and uniquely shaped windows that welcome breezes and the sounds of the lapping lake. Both have flat screen Tv's but really who wants to watch tv on holiday? One bedroom has a triangular window that when opened at night offers prime moonlight from 10:00pm to 1:00am. It reminded us of angel wings, especially when reflecting an epic thunderstorm on our first night! Two identical bathrooms offer stand up glass showers and generous counter space. The third bedroom/bathroom is located on the main floor via a two-step outside on a balcony. There is a shrine to the Virgin encased in glass in the ivy-covered wall on the balcony that I wonder isn't original to the building-very beautiful. This bedroom takes in lakefront views and its seclusion makes it a rather special place.
There are three different paths leading to the Pescallo apartments: two are steep cobblestone paths that lead directly into Bellagio proper (less than 10 minutes' walk each) and the third a longer, flatter path via the main road. By day we'd take the latter option with our stroller but at night my husband and I would explore the ancient walled paths under the moonlight. We would walk barefoot from the apartment to the sloping beach area to dip our toes and look out for shooting stars. There are two benches which seem to attract both locals and tourists alike but because Pescallo is just off the main path, not everyone has a chance to find this little sweet spot.
We highly recommend this charming apartment for anyone looking for a truly memorable vacation. -

SydneyA wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate
Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Pietro and amelia gave us such a wonderful welcome. Pescallo is an attractive "village" on the other side of the small peninsula from Bellagio ,
The apartment was just like home, lots of light and the lake just in front, we could hear the lapping of the water lakeside. Quietly elegant with contemporary furnishing and very comfortable beds. Daily housekeeping was an added bonus. The beautiful energy and ambience was just what we needed after many weeks away and we would like to make it an annual sojourn at the end of our visits to Europe! -

Left on 06/08/2011 for a stay in April 2011
5 of us stayed at Pescallo for 4 nights in april and we all loved the overall experience! Pietro met us on arrival and was absolutely charming and very helpful. The apartment is renovated to an outstanding standard. Every detail from the mineral water and prosecco in the fridge through to the most beautiful bed linen has been thought of! We loved the location of the apartment and the short walk to Bellagio was pleasant. We would love to return to Pescallo again!

Woombye, AustraliaPescallo - our best holiday ever!
Left on 06/05/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Four of us (2 couples) stayed in the 3-bedroom apartment for 2 weeks in May 2011. Everything about the apartment, the location, and the owner exceeded our expectations. Close enough to Bellagio for shops and restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet, only a 10-minute walk (lots of steps, though).
Pietro lives on site and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment is cleaned daily, and washing / ironing is available on request (Elisabetta was wonderful). Views from the rooms and the living area are spectacular, right on the water.
Every recomendation Pietro gave us (boat hire, restaurants, shops, etc) was first class and we generally got a discount when we mentioned his name, and that we were staying at Pescallo apartments - even free home delivery of some shopping.
The living area is spacious and more than enough room for 4 adults to relax and spread out in comfort. The bedrooms are separated and all en-suite, with large beds. The kitchen is well-stocked with all brand new appliances, making the occasional meal at home a breeze. The whole interior of the apartments has been done by Pietro and is a credit to him, with nothing but the best in fit-out throughout. Free wi-fi is included.
Make sure you hire a motor boat from aC Boat hire, they deliver right to the door/water front. Bellagio Taxis are a great way to get around if you don't have a car, and their transfer form Milan to the apartment is worth every cent. The nearby supermarket has everything you need if you want to dine in, but why would you with so many great eating places in Bellagio, especially Trattoria San Giacamo (the best in town) and the local pastry shop for breakfast and treats. Parking is available nearby if you have a car, but Bellagio is the centre for all water taxis and ferries (including car ferries) so you really don't need a car once you're here.
We have no hesitation in recommending the apartments to anyone wanting a true Lake Como experience." -

Williamsport, Pa.Pescallo was beautiful and Pietro was the perfect host.
Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in August 2010
I travelled with my husband and our 15 yr old son. We loved the area around Bellagio and our apartment. The apartment is in a very old property but Pietro has remodeled it in a cool contemporary way with furnishings he has made himself. My son was impressed.
It is on a little square in Pescallo where people (including us) come to swim, amid sail boats and ducks.
The apartment has very large front windows that open on Lake Como with a beautiful view and breeze.
The best thing about the place is Pietro himself. He was so kind and helpful and tried to make sure we were having a good time. He made reservations for us and researched anything I was interested in. I am in the hospitality business and I came home thinking I could take some tips from Pietro.
A small drawback for us was that there was no place to eat outside but you could sit on a bench on the square beneath our place and the large windows in the front were sun filled and open to the air.
We walked every day to and from Bellagio on ancient stone steps. Bellagio is a beautiful town but I loved the little distance that separates Pescallo which is quieter and charming.
This is a very special spot. -

Chicago, ILItalian dream living on Lake Como, near Bellagio
Left on 10/07/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our family of five just loved this property. The owner, Pietro, is the perfect Italian host - welcoming, kind, helpful and proud of his handcrafted, gorgeous home. It has huge windows overlooking Lake Como from every room - beautiful sun rises and sun sets. It feels like a trendy Soho loft right around the corner from Bellagio. We rented boats and explored Lake Como's many villages and villas and swam. We couldn't recommend this propriety more for its truly stunning views, beautiful furniture, kitchen, showers and its lovely owner, Pietro. Our 10 yr old daughter still cries "I miss Bellagio..." when she recalls her room and its view in this propriety. Its an Italian dream

LondonBeautiful lake-side apartment
Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This stylish apartment is in a simply wonderful lake-side location, with tall windows opening to a beautiful view directly over the water. Pescallo is a peaceful escape from the busy streets of Bellagio but is only ten minutes walk away along a cobbled (stepped) path over the hill. Pietro was a lovely host and very happy to help out and make suggestions of places to visit or dine. We had a wonderful six night stay and will, i hope, return soon.

LondonStunningly Decorated and Very Comfortable Home on Lake Como
Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Pietro's flat may very well be the nicest accommodation I've stayed in away from home. I agree with the previous reviewer. The flat has been lovingly decorated and the finish is of a very high standard. His furniture and architectural choices create a comfortable and modern apartment in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We stayed in apartment 2, which is the larger of the two. We had three bedrooms (all en suite), a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room to accomodate 8 guests and a living room with views across the lake. Fantastic place to watch the a sunrise and to have a glass of wine at the end of the day. You would be hard pressed to find a more amiable host than Pietro. We stayed in the flat with my parents and my 14 month old son. Though the flat wasn't designed with children in mind, Pietro took the time to build a crib for my son and even furnished bedding and a stuffed animal. He has spared no expense to offer guests a home on Lake Como. The marina in Pescallo is quiet and picturesque. The walk to town is fairly steep, so it would be difficult for anyone with physical limitations, but I grew to enjoy the walk. If nothing else, it gave me an excuse for an extra scoop of gelato (Gelato del Borgo in town is easily the best in Bellagio). If you are traveling with friends or family, you could not do better than a stay at Pietro's Pescallo apartments. I'll post a few photos to make the decision easier.
