Take advantage of my late booking offers for September and October. £280. 00 per week. Thats only £10. per person per night based on 4 persons staying. Get away from it all and chill out in wild countryside.. A two bedroom stone built cottage, in the center of the friendly village of Bellingham Northumberland. This is an upside down house with the bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor and the living room on the first floor. This is to take advantage of the wonderful views over the village rooftops to Castle Hill and the moors beyond. Bedroom one has a double bed and bedroom two has full size bunks. A large village in the center of wild moorland in the heart of Northumberland
An ideal center for sight seeing, walking, cycling, fishing and outdoor pursuits such as horse riding and clay pigeon shooting. Look around the 11th cent. church which is about 50 yds. from the cottage or further away
is Wallington Hall or Cragside Hall. Kirkharle, Capability Browns birthplace is also well worth seeing. Free on street parking is available outside the cottage and throughout the village. Very impressive self-catering accommodation with all the facilit

Left on 03/17/2012 for a stay in March 2012

A most comfortable stay in a lovely warm cottage. All the fixtures and fittings were modern and spotlessly clean with many thoughtful touches including drying racks for clothes and all the amenities we required. In general it exceeded other self-catering accommodation we stayed it in the UK in terms of what was provided in the cottage. I was pleasantly surprised to pick up a reasonable mobile phone signal which provided us with slow but adequate mobile internet. The cottage is very handy to the Coop which is open till 10pm at night and there is a friendly local butcher at the end of the terrace we would also recommend. You really need a car to get about as Bellingham is in the middle of the Northumberland countryside and accessible via some rather windy B roads with sudden dips and crests so you need to be careful, although the locals seem well used to it. That said, we found it a good place for accessing the Scottish Borders plus a visit to Edinburgh Castle which is around 2 hours drive away. Worth visiting too is the little town of Hexham and of course Hadrians Wall which is not far away. Durham Cathedral also within driving distance. Probably wrong time of year to do cycling or walking but if that takes your fancy there are plenty of opportunities. Owner very helpful in answering our queries. Impressed also with the attention to safety including provision of a stair gate for our 18 month old and evidence of thorough electrical testing. Thoroughly deserving of the rating assigned to this property.
