Quiet neighborhood, nice little lake, good kayaking. Would have been an enjoyable time if a very few dollars of 1/2 inch hardware cloth had been used to seal off the under part of the house to keep out animals. Our dog got sprayed the second day which really ruined the rest of our stay. No one came to fix a reported kitchen faucet.

We will be sure to update the owner with your comments. Encounters with local wildlife can indeed be challenging to deal with on vacation and your suggestion for the owners is appreciated! Sincerely, Shannon Allan, Manager, Preferred Vacation Rentals, Inc.

Merrimack, NHThis house worked out only fair for our vacation.
Left on 08/21/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The location of the house was awesome. It was close to alot of things. The beach was fair. It was too shallow for the adults but it was good for the younger kids. The lake had alot of weeds in it.
The downfalls of the house were no a/c or fans and it was pretty hot in there (no cross breeze). The cable wasn't good (missed all the Red Sox games) and the kitchen wasn't well stocked for pots/pans.

allentowncomfortable stay, fun with family
Left on 08/01/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed for one week in mid July with kids and one set of grandparents. There was plenty of room for everyone and alot of open space for the kids' toys and books. The access to the lake was nice and having a "corner" location expanded our water access (primarily for wading and collecting shells). The house itself was a bit muggy due to the very hot weather that week, although the fans helped a little (the lack of a/C reduced our comfort rating--I would imagine under normal weather in NH it wouldn't be so warm). The fussball table was a hit with the kids. We like to read and found the lighting to be insufficient in most parts of the house for comfortable reading (except in the gazebo where the lighting was very good).

Newmarket, NHRelaxation on Silver Lake
Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We really enjoyed our week at this home on Silver Lake. There were three bedrooms and plenty of general living space that really met our needs. My husband and I traveled with our two children - ages 9 and 2. We really liked using our canoe on the lake - there was a great spot to put and take out the canoe. The lake is very shallow, which would have been nice for the kids for swimming, but the "beach area" of this property was overrun with lily pads in the water and bushes/weeds on the land. The kids still loved to play in the large yard and use the basketball hoop. The outdoor space was nice, with a large deck and a comfortable hammock. The view was great - the lot is almost a corner lot on the lake - a huge waterfront on two sides. There was a constant distant noise of traffic from Rt 93, but it wasn't super loud. Everything worked and was clean with the exception of the three season gazebo which was inundated with cobwebs and dead bugs near the windows. The foosball table was still fun to play! Overall, a great property and the perfect spot to relax!!
