Additional Location Information

The world famous Santa Cruz Wharf and Beach Boardwalk, and the fabulous West Cliff Drive are found within 10 miles of our bungalow. We are just a few steps from the Sunset Trail at the Quail Hollow Ranch Park and Nature Preserve in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Big Sur and San Francisco and all the all the treasures between (Monterey, Carmel, Point Lobos, Franklin Point, Pigeon Point, Los Gatos, and Saratoga) are available as day trips from this central location. Our family enjoys the central coast region and has since for more than a century. Please take a peak at our family album seen in a linked youtube slide show. Let us help you find the hidden paths around Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo Valley.

We chose this property 35 years ago, partly because of the open flat sunny meadow surrounded by forests with distant mountain views and partly because the geology is as varied in each direction as the potential activities nearby. The Oak Tree on this property speaks for it self, it is AMAZING, as are the birds who come to rest. Once in the house you may not want to leave this mountain paradise, but the redwood forests, beaches, San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, San Jose and Sunnyvale are all with in reach. We are free from traffic, noise, and grime. The fully refurbished pool club is a mile away, a little further is a great small lake where you can rent small fishing craft, or canoes. Mt. Hermon offers a fantastic and rare zip line opportunity as you move from platform to platform through the tree top canopy. This is the place that defines California living at its best, and where ideas blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living spaces emerged.

The rich and varied history of the region is so much fun to learn it does not seem 'educational. Recognized as one of the most significant biological treasures in the state of California, the Zyante Sandhills Zone support a unique community of plants and animals found only in Santa Cruz County. Quail Hollow Ranch, is an equstrian park first developed by the founders of Sunset Magazine. The trails around the ranch will lead you past a pond, year round streams and a host of wildlife. We are close to many state parks and the redwood trees.

If you cannot leave work, there are satellite conference rooms and office space available within five miles.
