Luxurious row villa located within a gated community with swimming pool and lawns. All three bedrooms have air conditioning and are tastefully furnished. Washrooms have showers, hot/cold water. The villa has drinking water on tap (filtered), a washing machine, TV with satellite hookup.
The kitchen has a gas hob, chimney, fridge, microwave, toaster, tableware, cutlery. The dining table seats six persons.

A sleepy fishing village only a few years ago, Benaulim is now a popular holiday destination offering an experience that is typically south Goa – slow paced and more laid back than north Goa. Situated between Colva and Varca, Benaulim provides easy access to several beaches, a variety of hotels, restaurants and shops. The main market is located at Maria Hall and continues west for 2 km to the beach – along the way are Internet cafes, ATM’s, restaurants, and shops selling handicrafts and trinklets. Benaulim beach is lively with its shack restaurants, and activities like paragliding and water scooters.

My wife and I (late 40's) and 2 teenagers (18 & 21) arived in Benaulim and to our great suprise was taken to a fairlly newly build holiday villas / flats in Benaulim. The villa is spacious, exceptionally clean with a lounge, dinning aria, kitchen (all open plan) and one bathroom on the ground floor. The first floor has 2 bedrooms with a bathroom (hot water), each with their own balcony. The second floor has a bedroom and bathroom with 2 balconies. Each room has it own ajustable aC (aircon) with ceiling fans throughout the villa. A washing machine, microwave oven, gas stove, large fridge, satelite TV (no international news, but international cricket and Hollywood movie channels were on offer) and the best part...a water purifying system round of the luxury. The complex has a well maintained swimming pool, but we rather played in the sea / on the beach.
The villa is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the beach. We hired 3 scooters (300 rupies each per day) and explore the interesting suroundings of Benaulim, Colva and as far as Palolem. As first timers to Goa and Benaulim, some tips:
1)Do explore the many beach shacks on the beach - for the first 2 days we "tested" the food and service after which we picked one and return every day to the preffered shack. After day 2 at the same schack we received preferential treatment - we evel left our beach towels at the schack which were laid out on the sunbeds the next morning (Malibu and Sea-view were our prefered choices)
2) in the evening try the local restaurants in the main village (3 minute walk from the villa) - our favourite was Skyroof's sweet corn chicken soup and butter chicken masala
3) bargain hard if you buy anything (exept food at the restaurants and beach schacks)
4) There are 2 "supermarkets" / general dealers in the same street (10 minute walk) where general groceries are on offer (toothpast, coldrinks, shampoo, etc)
5) For the men - do not shave - try one of the local barber / beauty shops - a shave will cost you 50 rupees and for another 150 rupees; an Indian head massage
We had the best beach holiday ever (being from sunny South africa it says a lot!!) and decided that the family (the extended family next time around) will again visit Goa in December 2013 - for three weeks (not two as in last December)
