      Perfect

Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My wife and I stayed here for one week in July of 2012. Cheryl has already thought of everything you could need. And it was very clean when we arrived. Nice spacious kitchen, washer/dryer, a full bathroom and a large living area. There's open parking behind the cottage next to the shed. I had to work that week and there were no issues with the internet connection. You can sit out on the porch in the cool evenings and watch the world go by. It's a quick 10-12 minute walk to the town center, where there's plenty of shopping, restuarants, pubs, etc... to enjoy. We also went to the city park everyday (we run every morning), which is also only about 10 minutes away by foot. And there are nice brick walking/running/biking trails throughout the park that surrounds a lake.

      Perfection!

Left on 02/21/2012 for a stay in September 2011

I was fortunate enough to stay at the St Helen's cottage Sept/2011, and I fell in love with it. From the moment you pull up to the curb you can tell it's going to be a special place. Cheryl has restored this old cottage beautifully and made sure her visitors want for nothing. Well, except food & beer - for that you're on your own!

The rooms are very spacious, all appliances and utilities have been upgraded so it really is like being on vacation at home. The bed is super-comfy, too, and there's even a small patio and yard out back. One day, when I retire to Bend, I want to live in a place just like the cottage. As I've told friends and family, the only thing I didn't like about it was that it wasn't mine!!

Location couldn't be better. Jackson's Corner is a short walk up the hill, as are Downtown, Drake Park, The Historical Society, all the great restaurants on Galveston ave, and The Taco Stand! Grocery you'll need to bike to (or wear comfy shoes), but with so many delicious eateries nearby, who needs Safeway?!

Thanks for everything, Cheryl! Hope to see you again next year

This is a place I would recommend to a good friend.

This cottage is a little bit of heaven. Everything is provided for you except food. The rooms are large and comfortable. The owner is super to work with.
I traveled with two Italian Greyhounds and the owner was very accepting of dogs. I have stayed in the cottage two years in a row for a stay of 3 weeks. It felt just like home.

      A Great Location

Left on 12/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010

A nice little house that is within walking distance of all of Bends activities. Storage space in the house is limited but the "garage" provides for things like bicycles luggage and bulky things. We have returned for two summers and plan to use it again.

Like My Home away From Home

Left on 10/22/2010 for a stay in September 2010

As the owner of a 1925 Craftsman cottage, I was excited when I found this home for my week-long stay in Bend. Upon arrival, I was greeted by and enjoyed conversation with Cheryl, the owner. She gladly shared information and recommendations about the many weekend events happening around town. I found the cottage to be comfortable and quiet. Although wired, I appreciated the internet access. The location, in the heart of a great neighborhood, is ideal for walking to Drake Park, downtown, and the Old Mill District. I truly enjoyed my stay here and my visit to Bend. If you are looking for a comfortable cottage in a great, walkable location, this is the place for you!

      Beautiful White Christmas in Bend

Left on 06/08/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Charming is the perfect description. Two adults and one 7 year old found this cozy, charming cottage not too, too small, nor too big. Just right for the price and location. Internet service was terribly slow, but who should be working when on vacation anyway? Not a whole lot of glitz and glamour, but cute and quaint, sort of shabby chic. The darling cottage just made the white Christmas all the more special. Highly recommend.

      WONDERFUL as a Vacation Rental!

Left on 02/07/2010 for a stay in November 2009

the owner was more than helpful during my rental planning and while I was in the home. It's an absolutely charming home with all the amenities, and would be terrific for a vacation rental.

I rented during a relocation to the area to avoid the hassle and expense of a hotel, and it worked well for me. It's cozy, has a TV, fireplace and all the necessities, like a nice kitchen with dishes, etc., a washer/dryer and comfortable bed.

Only issue for someone going to work each morning: if you use your blow dryer in the bathroom, it flips the electrical breaker, and I kept forgetting that. Makes for a little frustration while getting ready in the morning!

Would recommend HIGHLY as a casual vacation rental, with restaurants and walking paths nearby.

      Best little rental in Bend!

Left on 01/28/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Love Bend, love this neighborhood, & thoroughly enjoyed this cozy home away from home. It obviously reflects its owner's care & style, which translates to a comfortable stay. Close to everything I want to do/see when I'm in Bend. Cool little shops for coffee, food, easy walking/biking etc. I'd stay again...this is a great "same time next year" location.
