      Excellent location

Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in July 2012

I stayed at "Au 34" apartment back in July 2012 and absolutely loved it. The house is clean and located right in the center of town, next door to a bakery with fabulous, fresh croissants awaiting each morning. If you are into biking, there is a biking path near the house which leads through colorful villages of alsace and wineries. And lets not forget an amazing spa located only few miles from the apartment. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit Bergheim again soon!

A great location for exploring the wine route

Left on 06/17/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed at the "Au 34" condo for a week in June and had a wonderful time exploring the villages along the wine route. Thierry was a very considerate and helpful host, and gave us various recommendations for activities and restaurants nearby.

The apartment was great - very spacious for a couple, with a lovely living and dining area. We didn't spend many evenings inside but the kitchen was well equipped.

Bergheim makes a great base to explore the region, and the apartment has everything you need nearby including a bakery, tourist information, a small shop and restaurants.

As other reviewers have said the bathrooms are perhaps a bit tired - but are perfectly clean and functional. We'd definitely recommend this apartment to others.

The only small gripe we had was needing to leave quite a steep deposit in cash - we were happy to do so, but it left us with a rather a lot of unspent euros at the end of the holiday!

      Comfort In Charmsville, France!

Left on 05/06/2012 for a stay in October 2011

I've had the enormous good fortune of having traveled to over ten countries in Europe. Out of all of them, France is, in my opinion, the most beautiful. Its various regions feature such incredible diversity, which makes it difficult to pick one that stands out above the others. Therefore, I will say that alsace is "arguably" the cream of the crop in this category. (Though the case could certainly be made for the Loire, Burgundy, the Cote d'Azur, or any number of others gorgeous areas.) The charm of alsace's villages is difficult to match: It's a half-timbered wonderland, giving Germany a run for its money.
However, one thing that clearly separates the quaint villages of this region to those found in Germany is color. Blues, browns, reds, yellows and any number of other vibrant shades make the buildings stand out and add to the already engaging aesthetic.

During our recent visit we stayed in the village of Bergheim, which is in the vicinity of Ribeauville and Colmar. The town is a gem in a treasure trove full of them. Our accommodation was literally in the center, a 30 second stroll to the City Hall.

The "Au 34" apartment is located on the second floor of a lovely old house which, during our stay, was under renovation. At that time, there was clearly a lot of work yet to be done on the interior (and exterior) of the building, including painting, woodwork and so on. The apartment itself, however, appeared to have been somewhat recently completed and was very comfortable. Tough there were only two of us, this place can clearly accommodate 4 or more people quite easily. The two bedrooms are a decent size, and both the living room and dining/kitchen rooms are spacious and inviting. The furniture-including a huge, sturdy dining table, and two living room sofas-is comfortable and the kitchen includes all the major appliances needed to prepare full meals. The only drawbacks to the apartment are the toilet and bathroom. The bathroom has no shower stall and only provides a rather old shower head tenuously attached to the faucet. It's also lacking in anything pleasant. The toilet room is bare-boned; only the bowl and a large, exposed pipe. Both rooms are in dire need of refurbishing.

Those relatively tolerable distractions aside, the rest of the place, including great views from both sides of the building, made for a very comfy & homey vacation. In addition, our host, Thierry, was both affable and helpful. He made himself available for us and was very easy-going regarding all aspects of our stay.

I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to stay in the area, certainly if it's in the town of Bergheim.
The region itself should be on anyone's list of absolute must-sees!

Merci !

      Very good price quality

Left on 11/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011

We were delighted about this spacious and cozy apartment in the middle of the lovely town of Bergheim. The apartment has a nice view of the market place and the surroundings are still very quiet. The place is well equipped and has comfortable furniture, complete with internet and television. Groceries shop and bakery are nearby. Mr Bricola, the owner, is very friendly and gives good advises about restaurants and thinks to do. It is really a fantastic place to spend your holiday in alsace. One possible improvement: bath and shower need a better tap and water pressure.

      A gem

Left on 10/23/2011 for a stay in October 2011

We (4 adults) have just returned from a lovely weekend in Bergheim. This is a such a beautiful part of the world and has managed to retain its traditions and charms.

We were lucky enough to stay at 34 Grand Rue - a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment situated right in the middle of the town. Its central location means its within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants and the local wine tasting opportunities. The apartment is on the first floor (the ground floor is currently unused) and accessed by a large staircase. Once inside , the tastefully renovated apartment is surprisingly large and features include original beams and original wooden floors (in two rooms). The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, new electric oven and hob. The bedrooms are a good size and bedding ( one double duvet, two single duvets and countless pillows) are provided. NOTE you will need to arrange duvet covers/ sheets with Thierry or bring your own. The bathroom is a little dated but fully functioning and the bath has a shower attachment (don’t forget to bring your own towels). The toilet is separate from the bathroom which proved really helpful with 4 adults sharing the facilities! All in all the apartment is a real find and the views are wonderful.

The owner Thierry is the nicest kindest man you will ever meet. He is happy to help if you have any problems or sightseeing queries and was very kind to my mother on her birthday. Although he lives upstairs his is very respectful of your privacy and genuinely wants you to enjoy the apartment and the area. I would and have recommend this apartment to all of my friends.

      Un agréable séjour

Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in May 2011

      Best stay in alsace

Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in September 2010

Was a wonderful stay in alsace, probably one of my best souvenir in this region and part of it is thanks to "Thierry", the host of this housing.
He is full of good advises and ideas about where to go and what to do. Also I really appreciated his availability.
The apartment is awesome and I guess this is the best deal in the region ever considering the location which is right in the middle of the touristic area
